Frequently Asked Questions - EKG501 BLAUPUNKT

How do I use the kettle for the first time?
Fill the kettle with water to the MAX level, boil it according to the instructions, then pour out the water. Repeat this process four times to remove any manufacturing scents.
What are the minimum and maximum water levels?
The kettle has a capacity of 1.7 L (maximum) and 0.5 L (minimum). Always fill between the MIN and MAX markings to avoid malfunction.
How do I descale the kettle?
Use a descaling mixture or citric acid available in household stores. Follow the product instructions, then rinse the kettle three times thoroughly with clean water. Regular descaling prevents overheating and extends the kettle's life.
Can I use the kettle to heat liquids other than water?
No, this kettle is designed for heating water only. Using it for other liquids may damage the appliance and pose a safety hazard.
Why does the kettle turn off before the water boils?
This may be due to limescale buildup inside the kettle. Descale the kettle regularly. Also ensure the water level is between MIN and MAX. If the problem persists, contact service.
Is it safe to open the lid while the water is boiling?
No, do not open the lid during boiling or immediately after. The steam can cause burns. Wait until the kettle has cooled down.
What does the indicator lamp mean?
The indicator lamp lights up when the kettle is heating. It turns off automatically when the water boils or if you turn off the kettle manually using the ON/OFF switch.
How should I clean the exterior of the kettle?
Wipe the exterior with a damp cloth. Do not use harsh solvents or abrasive materials. Never immerse the base or kettle body in water.
Can I use the kettle without the filter?
No, always use the filter when filling the kettle. The filter prevents scale and particles from entering your drink and ensures proper steam shut-off.
What should I do if the kettle does not switch on?
Check that the kettle is properly seated on the base and the power cord is connected. If the kettle is still hot from previous use, wait for it to cool down (at least 5 minutes). If the issue continues, contact authorized service.
