* If there is no audio signal for about 90-120 seconds, the headset (A) switches to energy-saving mode.
First use
Position the base (E) so that there are no objects between the base (E) and the headset (A).
Switch on the headset (A) with the on/off button (15).

Health risks due to high volume
Take care when using a headset. Listening at high volume for prolonged periods of time can damage your hearing. Before putting on the headset (A), set the volume to the lowest level.
The playback volume is also influenced by the volume set on the audio source. First, set the volume on the audio source to a low or medium level. It can be increased later if necessary.
Put on the headset (A).
Putting on the headset
Note the markings L (left) and R (right) to put on the headset (A) correctly. The headset (A) is on correctly if the on/off button (15) and balance control (5) are pointing towards your body.

As soon as the base (E) receives an audio signal, it is transmitted via an infrared signal to the headset (A).
It is imperative that there is visual contact between the base (E) and the headset (A). First, set the volume on your audio source to a pleasant level.
Playback settings
You have several options for adjusting the sound settings to suit your needs perfectly. When you have put on the headset (A) and playback is in progress, make the following settings to it in order to adjust the IR hearing amplifier perfectly to your hearing.
It makes sense to proceed in the sequence described below:
Settings on the headset
Volume
Adjust the playback volume according to your needs by turning the volume control (3). Set the volume to the lowest level before putting on the headset (A). When you have put on the headset (A) and playback is in progress, you then adjust the volume in order to find the setting that suits you best.
Balance
You can adjust the volume balance between the right and left ear using the balance control (5). This may be useful if your hearing is different in each ear and you thus require a higher volume for one ear. When you have put on the headset (A) and playback is in progress, you then adjust this control in order to find the setting that suits you best.
Settings on the base
Stereo/mono switch
If you hear the sound only in one ear despite the correct balance setting, turn the stereo/mono switch (9) to the "mono" position. The same audio signal is played back left and right with this setting.
In the "stereo" position, audio signals may be different left and right to represent surround sound.
Example: In a film, you see a dog barking on the left side. The barking of the dog would be mainly audible in the left ear at the "stereo" setting. At the "mono" setting, you hear the dog barking equally in both ears.
When you have put on the headset (A) and playback is in progress, you then adjust this control in order to find the setting that suits you best.
Compression
You can switch on the compression with the compression switch (11). When you do so, faint sounds are accentuated more during playback than loud sounds. This function is particularly useful for people with a hearing impairment because it is primarily faint sounds that they usually fail to hear as a result. The intelligibility of speech can be optimised in particular. When you have put on the headset (A) and playback is in progress, you then adjust this control in order to find the setting that suits you best.
Treble boost
You can achieve further improvement in speech intelligibility with the treble control (10). The trebles of the audio playback can be continuously boosted as a result. When you have put on the headset (A) and playback is in progress, you then adjust this control in order to find the setting that suits you best. To amplify high tones, turn the control anti-clockwise towards the "MAX" marking.
Switching off the headset
You can switch off the headset (A) at any time by pressing the on/off button (15). If the headset (A) does not receive any audio signal for about 210 seconds, it switches itself off in order to save the built-in battery.
You must press the on/off button (15) again to resume playback.

When the headset (A) is not in use, it should be stored in the base (E) if possible. Thus you know where to find it and the battery is always charged.
Cleaning / replacing ear pads
If necessary, you can clean the ear pads with a mild detergent and lukewarm water.
2 pairs of replacement ear pads (F) are also supplied with the device.
Proceed as follows:
First, remove the ear pads (1) to be cleaned or replaced from the headset earpieces (2) and then attach cleaned or new ear pads.
