Safety advices for using the appliance:

WARNING: Hazard of injury and burns!
Housing surfaces, grill plate, pans and other components are getting hot during use and firstly stay hot after switch-off!

o Do not operate the appliance in the vicinity of sources of heat (oven, gas flame etc.) or in explosive environments, where inflammable liquids or gases are located.

Prior to initial use
For a start, please clean the grill plate, the pans and the small shovels in warm water with a little amount of dishwashing detergent.
Prior to initial operation, the heating elements' protective layer has to be burned in. In order to do so, please heat up the appliance without pans at maximum power for about 10 minutes. Please do not be bothered by the harmless smokes and smells that will be generated for a short while.
As with other grill plates and pans that have a non-stick coating, it is recommended for the first use to brown a little bit of bacon or to spread a small amount of oil on/in it so that the grilled food comes loose more easily.
Caution! If too much fat is spread on the grill plate, the fat might splash.

Cleaning and maintenance

Before cleaning, always unplug the appliance and let all parts cool down.

Clean grill plate, pans and small shovels in lukewarm water with a little amount of dishwashing detergent. Soak severe soiling firstly with some oil.
Wipe the heating element with a damp cloth only.

Tips
The grill plate has a non-stick coating, which requires a slight greasing only for the first use. Afterwards no further greasing is necessary.
Make sure the food does not get in contact with the heating element as otherwise it will burn.
Only season cheese after melting as spices burn at high temperatures and generate unpleasant smoke.
If possible, the food to be grilled should be taken out of the fridge 12 hour before you start grilling. It will roast more quickly and you avoid thicker meat staying cold inside.
Oil lean meat slightly before grilling. The best results are achieved with small and tender pieces of meat.

Sausages should be pierced before grilling so that they do not burst.
Spices and marinades might generate smoke when grilling. To avoid this you may use non-seasoned/non-marinated raw meat and rather offer seasoning mixtures and barbecue sauces as side dish.
Of course, you can also grill vegetables and fish.
As side dishes, we recommend fresh salads and cooked potatoes.
