How do I set the thermostat on the Termozeta Milord 8000?

Turn the thermostat dial clockwise to increase the desired temperature. The radiator will automatically maintain the set temperature by cycling on and off. For energy saving, set it to a lower temperature when the room is unoccupied.

Is the Milord 8000 safe to leave unattended?

Yes, it includes overheat protection and a tip-over switch that cuts power if the radiator is knocked over. However, never cover the radiator or leave flammable materials nearby.

Can I use an extension cord with this radiator?

It is not recommended due to fire risk. If necessary, use a heavy-duty extension cord rated at least 13 amps and fully unrolled. Plug directly into a wall outlet for safest operation.

How should I clean the radiator?

Unplug and allow to cool. Wipe the exterior with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Do not use abrasive cleaners, and avoid getting water inside the heater. Ensure it is completely dry before next use.

Why does my radiator make clicking noises during operation?

Clicking sounds are normal and caused by thermal expansion of the metal fins as the oil heats and cools. This is not a defect. The noise should decrease once the radiator reaches a stable temperature.

How do I store the Milord 8000 during summer?

Clean the radiator, let it dry, then store it in a dry dust-free place. Wrap the cord around the holder. Keep it upright to avoid oil leakage. Cover it with a cloth to protect from dust.

What is the power consumption of this radiator?

At maximum setting (2000 W), it consumes 2 kWh per hour of continuous use. Actual consumption depends on the thermostat setting and room insulation. Lower settings reduce power draw.

Does the Milord 8000 have a timer?

No, it does not have an built-in timer. You can use an external plug timer to schedule on/off times. Ensure the timer is rated for at least 2500 W to handle the load.

Can I paint the radiator?

No, painting the radiator can reduce heat output and cause overheating. The factory paint is designed for optimal heat emission. If scratched, use a touch-up paint from Termozeta (available upon request).

How to replace the power cord if damaged?

The power cord must be replaced by a qualified technician or Termozeta service center. Do not attempt to repair it yourself as the cord is internally connected. Use only an authorized replacement part.

The present manual is an integral part of the appliance and must be carefully read before using it as it gives important indications with regard to safety of installation, use and maintenance. Keep it with care.

• After taking off the packing make sure that the appliance is intact. In case of doubt do not use it and contact an assistance centre authorised by LANGE DISTRIBUTION.
• Do not leave pieces of packing (plastic bags, polystyrene foam, nails etc.) within reach of children or persons with reduced mental capacities since these are potential sources of danger.
• The electrical safety of this appliance is ensured only if it is correctly connected to an effective earthing system in compliance with the existing electrical safety standards. LANGE DISTRIBUTION shall not be held responsible for any damage caused by the lack of an earthing system.
• Before connecting the plug to the outlet check that the working voltage of the appliance corresponds to the one in your house. If in doubt, contact professionally qualified staff.
• Use of adaptors, multiple outlets and extension leads is not advisable. In case of need use exclusively approved appliances in conformity with the current safety regulations while making sure that they are compatible with the appliance power. If in doubt, contact professionally qualified staff.
• Any installation which doesn’t comply with what is specified can endanger your safety and the warranty expires.
• The appliance must only be used to iron fabrics for domestic purposes.

• The appliance can be used by children aged from 8 and above and by people with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, only if they have been given supervision or instructions concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. IRON TEMPERATURE SETTING

TANK FILLING

• Disconnect first the plug from the mains socket
• Make sure the steam control dial (4) is in the "” position (dry ironing).
• Open nozzle (2) and fill the tank through the proper hole without exceeding the MAX level (13) indicated.
  Do not put any perfumed substances into the tank.
• While ironing, check the water level inside the tank.

SUGGESTION

If water in your area is particularly calcareous, it is advisable to use distilled water.

ENGLISH

• Make sure the steam control dial (4) is in the “” position (dry ironing).
• Completely unroll the power cord (10), put the iron in a vertical position and connect the plug to the mains socket.
• With the temperature control knob (12) select the temperature which is most suitable for the type of fabric to be ironed.
• The thermostat light (9) turns on and will then turn off when the soleplate reaches the selected temperature. The iron is now ready for use.

IMPORTANT

• Before and during use make sure the work surface is stable and heat resistant.
• Never leave the iron unattended when it is connected to the power supply.
• Do not use the iron if it has been dropped, if there are signs of damage or if water leaks.

SUGGESTIONS

• First iron more delicate fabrics which require low temperature and then the more resistant ones which require higher temperatures.
• Before ironing pass the iron over a small hidden area of your item of linen to make sure the temperature selected is suitable for that type of fabric.

STEAM IRONING

• Fill the tank with water.
• Choose the desired steam output by turning the steam control dial (4).

NOTE

• Steam is delivered only if temperature knob (12) was set to symbols •••, max.
• When the iron is placed vertically during ironing pauses, the steam delivery is automatically cut off.
• Some water drops can come out together with the steam on first use. This is to be considered normal. Before ironing your linen carry out some tests on an old cloth.

FOR DRY IRONING

• When iron is placed, always place it on a stable horizontal surface.
• Select the proper temperature by turning the control knob (12) on the iron.
• Completely unwind the power cord (10) and plug into the outlet.
• When the pilot light (9) goes out, the iron is ready for use.
• The pilot light (9) on the iron will light up and go out automatically while you are ironing to show that the soleplate is being kept at a constant temperature.
• When you have finished ironing, unplug it and let the iron to cool down.

ENGLISH

SPRAY FUNCTION

• This function allows moistening the linen during both steam and dry ironing.
• To enable it press the spray button (5) several times and direct the water jet onto the most resistant creases.

SUPER-STEAM FUNCTION

To enable this function, press the super-steam button (4) several times: the iron will supply an instantaneous high power steam shot.

• Do not press button (4) repeatedly too fast as this may cause some water droplets to be ejected together with steam.
• Use this function only with the temperature control knob (12) set to symbols , max.
• When the super-steam function is used for the first time some limestone pieces could come out. We therefore recommend not to discharge the first steam jets directly onto the linen.

ANTI-DRIP SYSTEM

This system prevents the iron from dripping onto the linen. The device is automatically enabled if, for whatever reason, the temperature of the soleplate lowers.

VERTICAL IRONING

To “liven up” the clothes hung on cloth hangers, curtains, etc. you can use the iron vertically:

• Set the temperature control knob (12) to the max position.
• Hold the iron in a vertical position at a distance of about 15-20 cm from the fabric.
• Press the super-steam button (4) several times.

NOTE

- Do not press the super-steam button too many times consecutively. Observe pauses of some seconds between one operation and the following one.

IMPORTANT

• Do not use this function on fabrics made up of synthetic fibres.
• Keep an adequate distance between the fabric and the iron soleplate in order to avoid burns.
• Use this function only on clothes hung on clothes hangers. Do not try to iron clothes if they are worn by a person: the steam is very hot, you could cause serious burns injuries.

SELF-CLEANING SYSTEM

Your iron is supplied with a self-cleaning system which allows to reduce the formation of limestone deposits. In order that it produces its benefits it is necessary to regularly effectuate the operation, at least once a month.

Proceed as following:

• Set the dry ironing function.
• Fill up the tank up to MAX level
• Make the iron function as normal bringing the plate to the maximum temperature.
• Disconnect the plug from the current socket when the iron is ready.
• Holding down the self-cleaning button (7) wag the iron in horizontal position, above a sink or a basin. Let the tank get empty. The water-steam mixture will eliminate a part of limestone residues present in the plate.
• Afterwards connect the plug to the current socket and moving the iron above an old cloth, eliminate all the residue water present in the plate.

Important:

Pay attention not to get in contact with the water that is comes out from the plate since it is bowling and you could get burns.

Note:

Before re-using the iron to iron the clothing, pass the cold plate on a dry cotton cloth.

AFTER USE

• Disconnect the plug from the power outlet.
• Empty the tank.
• Always set the steam control dial (4) to the "0" position.
• Let the iron cool down.
• Wind the cord around the rear part of the appliance.
• Place the iron in a vertical position.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

WARNING!

Before carrying out any cleaning operation, disconnect the plug from the power outlet and wait for the iron to cool down.

• Clean the iron body only with a soft and dry cloth.
• Clean the soleplate using a non-abrasive sponge in order not to damage the soleplate surface.
• Do not use chemical or abrasive substances.
• Do not immerse the appliance in water or other liquid substances.

INFORMATION FOR USERS

In accordance with European Directives 2011/65/CE, 2002/96/CE and 2003/108/CE on the restriction of the use of dangerous substances in electric and electronic equipment as well as their waste disposal.

• The barred symbol of the rubbish bin shown on the equipment indicates that, at the end of its useful life, the product must be collected separately from other waste.
• Therefore, any products that have reached the end of their useful life must be given to waste disposal centres specialising in separate collection of waste electrical and electronic equipment, or given back to the retailer at the time of purchasing new similar equipment, on a one for one basis.
