Important safety notes
- Never cover the permanent filter (cover) and be wary of steam escaping.
- Wipe the frying container dry before filling it with oil/fat. Check to see that the cover with permanent filter and frying baskets are completely dry before using the deep fryer.
- The level of the oil/fat must always range between the MIN and MAX marks. The marks are at the back wall of the oil tank. Never use the deep fryer without oil/fat in it.
- Moist food needs to be dabbed dry before deep-fried. Remove any loose ice from frozen food. Close the cover before deep-frying, lower the basket gradually into the frying oil/fat.
- Make sure there are no inflammable objects located above or beside the appliance. In case the oil/fat catches fire due to overheating pull the mains plug and keep the cover closed. If the deep fryer is open, close the cover. Never use water to extinguish the fire.
- Never immerse the operating panel, the cord or the plug in water.
ATTENTION
- To reduce the injury risk by tangling in a too long cord or by stumbling across it, the appliance has a short cord. Using extension cords for deep fryers is not recommended.
Prior to initial use
Remove all packaging from both appliance and equipment. Before using for the first time clean the appliance according to the “cleaning and maintenance” instructions. Afterwards re-assemble the appliance according to the drawing. Make sure that the deep fryer, cover with permanent filter and the frying baskets are completely dry and there is no residual water at or in the appliance.
What frying oil/fat to choose
Primarily opt for special frying oil/fat, such as sun flower oil, peanut oil, grape seed oil, palm oil, maize germ oil,. When using solid fat, cut it into pieces and do them into the frying container, never into the frying basket. Melt the fat at max. 150°C. Follow the instructions of the fat manufacturer for frying.
ATTENTION
Do not mix different sorts of fat. Waste fat or oil should not be disposed of with your organic or household waste. Please turn to your local authorities to find out on the appropriate collecting points.
How to operate your appliance
Open the cover by pressing the release button.
Remove the frying basket/s from the deep fryer.
Pour good-quality frying oil/fat in the frying container until it reaches between the MIN and MAX oil level mark (approx. 3.5 litres). Never operate the appliance without or with insufficient oil in the frying container. Close the cover.
ATTENTION
Prior to frying, make sure that the basket handles are correctly fixed at the respective basket. Please pay attention to the markings “R” for right and “L” for left. The basket handles can be easily slotted in the mounting at the frying basket and be fixed. The handles can be disengaged by slightly applying pressure downwards and then pulled out of the mounting at the frying basket.
Switching on
Connect the appliance to the electrical outlet. The red pilot lamp lights up.
Switch on the deep fryer by turning the temperature regulator clockwise to the desired temperature (see frying time and temperature chart). The green pilot lamp lights up. That indicates the heating-up of the deep fryer. When the temperature is reached, the power supply will be interrupted and the green pilot lamp will go off. When the temperature drops, both heating element and pilot lamp will automatically turn on anew.
Frying
Place the food in the frying basket. Dab it with paper towels first.
Open the cover and fix the respective frying basket with the mounting in the intended guiding at the frying container's rim. Now close the cover and lower the basket slowly into the oil/fat. For this purpose, lift the frying basket out of the fixing by means of the flapped handles and slightly move it forward. Not later than now, the temperature of the regulator should be reduced to max. 170°C.
ATTENTION
To prevent and reduce the formation of Acrylamid we recommend frying the food always until it is golden instead of dark or brown and removing burnt remains instead of eating them. Food containing starch, especially such derived from cereals and potatoes or breaded food, should not be fried at temperatures beyond 170°C.
When the frying process is finished, lift the frying basket, fix the basket handles with the mounting in the intended guiding at the container's rim and let drip the oil/fat. Now open the cover, the food is ready for serving.
Switching off
Switch off the appliance by turning the temperature regulator anticlockwise to the zero-position and pulling the mains plug.
Different frying baskets
Large frying basket
Capacity: max. 1.2 kg
Sufficient for 1 carp or any other whole fish, 1/2 chicken, larger portions of chips.
Two small frying baskets
Capacity: 2 x max. 500 g
Suitable for frying different kinds of food at the same time. Please consider the different temperatures and frying times according to the frying time and temperature chart.
Note: Please be aware of the impairment of flavour when preparing different food at the same time.
Frying time and temperature chart
This chart is applicable when using the big frying basket. Frying in the small baskets requires a corresponding reduction of the quantities.
The times given are only approximate. They can be varied according to quantity, temperature and consistency of the food as well as of the personal taste.

The basic rule of thumb is: The food to be fried must be floating in the oil/fat freely to guarantee proper frying results with food turning out crisp and evenly brown.
Tip: For uniform frying results cut the food into pieces of equal size making sure those do not become too thick. Fry by portions. Reduce the quantity of food, especially when frying frozen food.
Tip: You can extend the oil's/fat's shelf-life if doing without salting or flavouring the fried food over the uncovered frying container. Filtering the oil/fat and keeping it in the fridge after use will have a positive effect on its shelf-life. We recommend replacing the oil/fat after every 10^th use at the latest or replacing a part of the oil/fat at regular intervals.
Tips for preparing chips low of Acrylamid
-
Keep oil/fat slightly below 180^ C. In hotter oil, overfried spots with very high Acrylamid contents quickly emerge. Important:
-
Portions of about 50-100 g potatoes per litre oil in the deep fryer: the oil/fat temperature shall decrease slightly but not fall below approx. 145^ C.
Fry larger quantities in portions whereas the oil/fat has to be reheated between every single portion.
- Acrylamid forms only at the end of the frying process whereas its concentration increases very quickly (depending on the quantity of food). Chips must not be overfried.
Observe carefully!
Good chips with little Acrylamid are golden and have slightly browned ends (flavour). The general browning has not been started yet.
Cleaning and maintenance
Your deep fryer can be completely disassembled for a most convenient cleaning procedure (Total-Clean system).
Always pull the mains plug and let the appliance cool down before cleaning it!
Open the cover and remove the frying basket. Then lift the cover off the hinge and take out the frying
container holding it at its rim. Use caution when there is oil/fat in the container. Dispose of the oil/fat, pouring it in a suitable container.
Withdraw the operating panel from the deep fryer pulling to the front. It must not become wet.
For the cleaning of frying basket, frying container, cover, casing and accessories we recommend handwash in hot soapy water. Cleaning in the dishwasher might corrode the surfaces because of the used dishwasher salt. Do not use sharp objects, brushes or abrasives.
Never immerse the heating element with the control element in water.
Use a damp cloth only for cleaning it.
Thereafter, dry all parts thoroughly, particularly the contacts joining the heating element. The guide rails in the cover are simultaneously condensate collection area. Regularly dispose of the water gathered there.
After cleaning, make sure the deep fryer is properly re-assembled in the reverse order of its disassembly. Make sure that the locking at the heating element (frying container, frontal bottom side) engages correctly in the fastener.
The permanent filter provided in the cover can be removed as required and cleaned in hot water using a brush.
ATTENTION
The deep fryer and all parts must be completely dry before each time of use.
