How do I register a handset to the base station?

First, put the base station into registration mode by pressing and holding the paging button for about 10 seconds until you hear a confirmation signal. Then, on the handset, go to Settings > Setup Base > Register HS, enter the current PIN (default 0000), and confirm. The handset will search for the base and register automatically.

What should I do if the handset shows ‘No Base found’?

This indicates the handset is not registered to any base station. Follow the registration procedure above. Ensure the base station is powered on and in registration mode. If the problem persists, try resetting the handset to factory defaults (Menu > Settings > Setup Handset > Default Reset) and re-register.

How can I extend the battery life of the handset?

To maximize battery life, place the handset on the base charger when not in use. Avoid leaving the handset in areas with extreme temperatures. The batteries are rechargeable Ni-MH type; replace them if they no longer hold a charge. You can also switch the handset off to save power (press and hold the On/Off button).

How do I set up the answering machine?

Press the Menu softkey, select Answer Machine, then Answer Settings. Here you can set the answer mode (Answer & Record or Answer Only), number of rings before answering (delay), and record outgoing messages. To switch the answering machine on/off, press the button on the base station or use the handset menu.

Can I use the phone during a power failure?

No, the telephone cannot be used during a power failure because the base station requires mains power. It is recommended to keep a corded telephone that does not require external power for emergency situations.

How do I activate the Baby Call function?

Go to Menu > Settings > Setup Handset > Baby Call. Enter the desired phone number and confirm. Select Baby Call On to activate. Once active, pressing any button (except the left softkey) will automatically dial that number.

What is the default PIN for the handset and answering machine?

The default PIN for both the handset (for registration) and the answering machine remote access is 0000. For security, it is recommended to change the answering machine remote access PIN via the menu: Answer Settings > Change Remote PIN.

How can I delete all old messages on the answering machine?

On the base station, press and hold the Delete button until you hear a confirmation tone. On the handset, go to Answer Machine > Delete All Mess and confirm with Yes. Note that only messages already played are deleted; new unplayed messages are kept.

Why does the handset not ring?

Check if the ringing tone is turned off. Press the # button briefly in standby mode to toggle the ringer on/off (the icon andKey Guard appears when off). Also ensure the ring volume is not set to 0. Go to Menu > Sound > Ringer Ring Volume to adjust.

How do I use the handset with a private branch exchange (PBX)?

Set the correct flash time (R-button timing) in Settings > Setup Base > Flash Time according to your PBX manual. You may also need to store the number for an outside line in Setup Base > Exchange Code. When making external calls, dial that number first; the phone will automatically insert a pause.

In the case of private branch exchanges, it is necessary to dial as specific number in order to obtain the dialling tone for an outsidine. This number for an outside line can be stored. Diallingmode

Thetelephone can be operated in new, digitalexchanges (TONE) as well as analogue exchanges (PULSE). Setting the dialling mode, Page 69.

Temporarytonedialling

If you only operate the telephone using the PULSE dialling mode, you can still make use of the advantages of the TONE dialling mode (e.g.: remote access of the answering machine in the conventional telephone network). You can temporarily switch to Tonedialling when a connection has already been made.

The term sof guaranteed on not apply to the batteries or power packs used in the products. The period of guarantee is 24 months from the date of purchase.
