- ifthe"PassiveEntry"functionhas beencheck-markedfromtheMTC menu,itisnecessarytokeepthe remotecontrolwithin 1 m (3 ft) of thebootlid;

TOMARML ↑- ifthe "PassiveEntry" function was not checked-marked from the MTC menu, then it is not necessary to have the remote control within 1 m (3 ft) from the boot lid. Toopenthebootlidfrominsidethepassengercompartment, thegearshiftlever mustbeintheP(Park)position(seechapter "Startingtheengine" insection "Driving thevehicle").

OnthecarsthathavePowerBootLid/HandFree(*)operation,youcanopenand closeitwiththeonlymovementofthefootintheareaundertherearbumper,with theremotecontrolwithin1,5m(5ft)ofthepowerbootlid.
Inorderforthesensorstodetectyourfootmovement(kick),moveyourfoottowards thevehicleratherthansideways.
Whenthepowerbootlidisopen, tomoveittherearetwobuttonspositionedonits rightlowerpartandindicatedinthedetailoffigure.

- Push the central START/STOP button with brake pedal pressed and ignition device inanyofthethreeoperatingmodes,tostarttheengine(seechapter"Startingthe engine"insection"Drivingthevehicle").
OFFisthestartingmodethatenables centraliseddoorlockingfrominsidethe vehicle,providedthatalldoorsare closed.

After30minutesofinactivitywiththe ignitiondeviceintheRUNorACC position,thegearshiftleverinP(Park) positionandtheengineoff,thesystem turnsOFFautomaticallyinorderto preservebatterylife.

Press the START/STOP button until the ignition device and the instrument cluster display indicate that the vehicle is OFF. The anti-theftalarmsystem can be armed by anyone of the following methods.
- Pressthecentraliseddoorlockingswitch onthedriver'sdoorpanelwhilethe doorisopen.

Inanyofthesesituations:
- ifoneormorewindowsand/orthesunroof(*)areopen,theywillremainopen.To closethewindowsand/orthesunroofpressagainthe lockbuttonontheremote controlandkeepituntilcompleteclosure;
- PowerBootLid/HandFree(*)willstayopenifithasbeenleftopen.Closebootlid andrepeatthecommandtoarmthealarmsystem.
When the anti-theft system is armed, the indicator light on the upper part of the dashboard will flash quickly for about 15 seconds and then keep on blinking until the alarms system is disarmed and the vehicle is unlocked.
The controls are on the outboard side of these at cushion.
The front controls 1 and 2 are shaped like the outline of a seat and adjust the seat forward/backpositionandheight,aswellascushionandseatbacktilt.
USINGTHECONTROLS
Therearmostcontrol3increasesordecreases(horizontalarrows)andraisesorlowers(verticalarrows)lumbarsupport.

When the switch is raised to second detent and released, the window is raised automatically up to end stop position.
Onsomeversions, the window switches on driver's door and front passenger's door have an AUTO-down feature.
In this case press the window switch to these second detent, release, and the window will go completely down automatically.
Toraiseorlowerthewindowpartially,pushorraisetheswitchuptofirstdetentand releasetostopthewindow.
TostopawindowfromraisingorloweringfullyduringAUTO-downoperation,pull uporpushdowntheswitchbriefly.
NOTE:
- If the window encounters an obstacle during AUTO-up operation, it automatically retracts and then stops. In this event, remove the obstacle and repeat command to close the window.
- The power window switches will remain active for up to 10 minutes after the ignition device is cycled to the OFF position. Opening either one of the front doors will cancel this feature. Delay time can be programmed. For more details:
- Frequent activations of the power windows could result in a temporary lock of their starters. In this case, wait a moment before a new activation.

Stoppingtheengine

The dual-zone air conditioning and heating system can be operated using the climate control on the climate control panel of the dashboard. TheMaseratiStart&Stopsystemallowstoautomaticallyswitchofftheenginewhen thevehiclestopsandtorestartitwhenthedriverintendstodrive.Duringthe"Stop (AutoStop)"phasetheignitionisstillonandallsecurityfeaturesareavailable.In orderfortheStart&Stoptoactivate,thevehiclemustbestationaryandthebrake pedaladequatelypressed.YoucandisabletheStart&Stopfunctionfromthecontrols ontherightsideofthesteeringwheel,throughthe"START&STOP"menu.
NOTE:
If the brake pedal is not sufficiently pressed the Start & Stop may not function even if the vehicle is stopped.
Thiswarninglight (A) indicate that the engine has been switched off automatically by the Start & Stop system. As soon as the brake pedal is released, the engine return on. MOVINGASTUCKCAR
Acarwithpartiallystuckwheelsinmud,sandorsnowcanoftenbemovedwithshort alternatebackandforthmovements.
Turnthesteeringwheelinbothdirectionstoreleasefrontwheelsfromanyobstacle. ThenmovethegearshiftleverbetweenpositionD(Drive)orM(Manual)andR (Reverse).WiththegearshiftlevertoM(Manual),trytomovethecarstartingitin thesecondgear.
With the vehicle moving at lowspeed, you can quickly shift from D(Drive) to R (Reverse) and vice-versa, by simply pressing there lease button on the gear shift lever. There lease procedure proves more effective if you accelerateategently so a avoid driving wheels slipping.
If vehicle cannot be moved by following the above procedure, quickly press the ICE keyto activate the low-grip condition driving mode, and fully deactivates the anti-yawing and anti-slip control systems by keeping key pressed for at least 3 seconds. Move gear shift lever between D(Drive) and R(Reverse) positions, and try to movethe car.

IFTHEVEHICLEISSTOREDFORLONGPERIODS
If the vehicle is going to belaid up from more than one month, follow the precautions below:
- Washanddrythevehiclethoroughly.
- Storethevehicleinacovered, dry and, if possible, ventilated area.
- SelectP(Park)andmakesurethattheparkingbrakeisNOTengaged.
- Disconnectthebattery(seeinstructions:)orconnectabatterycharger (availableatMaseratiServiceNetwork).
- Checkthebatterychargestatus. During parking, this check must be carried out every three weeks (orify out travel approximately 16 km/10 miperday and/or 6000 km/4000 miperyear). Recharge the battery if the opencircuit voltage is lower than 12.2 V.
- Cleanandprotectthepaintedpartsapplyingprotectivewax.
- Cleanandprotectpolishedmetalpartswithspecialproductsavailableonthe market.
•Talcthewindshieldwiperbladesandraisethemfromthewindshield. - Cover the vehicle with a cloth in breathable fabric (available from the Maserati ServiceNetwork). Donotusethickplasticsheets, which donotallowthehumidity onthevehiclesurfacetoevaporate.
- Inflatethetiresuptoapressurewhichmustbe1barhigherthanthenormally prescribedone,andcheckitatregularintervals.

Drivewith the catalyst temperature warning lighton

- If the warning light is accompanied by the message "Catalyst Temp Getting Hot ReduceSpeed", the temperature of the catalytic converters is too high. Slowdown immediately until the warning light turn so off.
- Ifthemessage "CatalystTempHotStopSafelyWaitToCool" appears after decelerating, the temperature in the catalytic converters has reached dangerous level and the catalytic converters could be damaged. Drives lowly to the nearest workshop.
- Ifthelightturnsonpermanently3timestheenginewillstop.Itwillbepossibleto restart the vehicle only with a key-off (OFF)/key-on (RUN) cycle. Reach the nearest MaseratiServiceCentreatlowspeed.

- If the vehicle is washed using high-pressure water jets or cleaners, it is important that thenozzle of the jet be kept at a distance of at least 40 cm from the bodywork to avoid damaging it.

The process of charging or recharging the battery produces hydrogen, a flammable gasthat can explode and causes serious injuries. When charging or recharging the battery, follow there recommended precautions at all times.
- Beforeusingachargerdevicealwayscheckthatthistoolissuitablefortheinstalled battery,withconstantvoltage(lowerthan14,8V)andlowamperage(maximum limit15A).
•Rechargethebatteryinawell-ventilatedenvironment. - Neverchargeorrechargeafrozenbattery:itcanexplodeduetohydrogentrapped insidetheicecrystals.
- Ensure that anysparksoropenflamesarekeptwellawayfromthebatterywhileit ischarging.
- Beforeusingachargertochargeormaintainthebatterychargestatus, carefully followtheinstructionsprovidedtoensurethechargerisconnectedtothebattersysafelyandcorrectly.

GasolineEnginesonly(Gasoline)
The anti-pollution devices of the vehiclerequire unleaded fueltobe used at all times. Undernocircumstance, noteveninemergencysituations, should leaded fuelbe supplied to the fuel tank, notevenaminimum quantity. This would irreparably damage the catalytic converters. An inefficient catalytic converter results in noxious exhaustemissions which damage the environment.
Somegeographicalareas,requiretheuseof"oxygenated"fuelstomeetseasonalair qualitystandards.
- Alcohol-Ethanol: FuelscontainingONLYupto10%ethanolbyvolumemaybe used(ethanolmayalsobereferredtoasEthylalcohol,or"Gasohol").
- Ethers-MTBE: Fuel containing ONLY upto 15% MTBE (methyltertiarybutylether) maybe used.
Donotuseanygasolinethatcontainsleadasaknockinhibitor,andDONOTuselead additives.
The use of detergent gasoline is effective in minimising fuel injector and intake valve deposits. The use of external fuel injector cleanings systems/fluids is not recommended.

WARNING!
Donotusealcoholorgasolineasafuelblendingagent. They can be unstable under certain conditions and hazardous orexplosivewhenmixedwithdieselfuel.

CAUTION!
- MaseratistronglyrecommendstheuseofPremiumdieselfuelONLY.Useoflesser gradefuel(otherthanPremium)willleadtoreducedengineperformance,and
poorfueleconomyandcanleadtotheCheckEngineLight
illuminatingonthe
instrumentcluster.Continueduseoflessergradefuel(otherthanPremiumdiesel fuel)canleadtofuelinjectionsystemdamagesandengineoperatingproblems. - For Indiamarket vehicles Maseratirequire the use of Premium high speed diesel fuel ONLY. Use of lesser grade fuel (other than Premium high speed) will lead to reduce engine performance, and poor fuel economy and can lead to the Check Engine Light illuminating on the instrument cluster. Continued use of less grade fuel (other than Premium dieselfuel) can lead to fuel injection system damages and engine operating problems.
- ThemanufacturerrequiresthatyoumustfuelthisvehiclewithUltraLowSulfur HighwayDieselfuel(15ppmSulfurmaximum)andprohibitstheuseofLowSulfur HighwayDieselfuel(500ppmSulfurmaximum)toavoiddamagetotheemissions controlsystem.
- The presence of water inside the fuel system can damage the injection system and cause engine's malfunction. If the warning light turn on, you shall contact the Maserati Service Network as soon as possible to have the fuel filter cleaned.

turnson, it may be that somewhat has
