  • Never disassemble or carry out maintenance on the appliance apart from that indicated in this manual. In the event of a fault or malfunction, do not try and repair the appliance yourself. In the event of a heavy knock, fall, damage or fall into water, the appliance may not longer be safe to use. Incorrect use or a lack of respect for the instructions herein may lead to serious accidents. Always contact Authorised Service Centres.
  • This appliance can be used by children over 8 years old, by people with reduced physical, sensory or mental abilities or by inexperienced persons only where they are instructed in advance on its safe use and only if informed of the dangers related to the product. RISKS CONNECTED TO THE POWER SUPPLY - ELECTROCUTION

  • The earthing system and highly sensitive residual-current circuit breaker, complete with magnetothermic cut-out for your domestic system, guarantee safe use of electrical appliances. Therefore, for your own safety, check that the electrical system to which the appliance is connected complies with current laws.
  • Do not connect the appliance to the mains if the voltage does not correspond with that of the domestic electrical circuit in use.
  • Do not overload the sockets with adaptors and/or transformers. Only connect the product to a single socket with current that is compatible with the supplied plug.
  • Electrical extension leads that are unsuitable for the power rating or which are not compliant with law may overheat and possibly lead to short-circuiting, fire, power outage or damage to the equipment. Only use certified extensions, suitable for the power rating, that support at least 10A.
  • To remove the plug from the socket, do not pull the power cable, but hold the plug itself to avoid damage to the plug and the cable.
    • Always unplug the appliance if it is not in use and before any preparation, maintenance or cleaning operation.
  • The appliance must not be left unattended if plugged in to the mains.
  • Fully unwind the cable from the cable winder before connecting the appliance to the mains and before use. Always use the product with the cable completely unwound.
  • Do not pull or jerk the cable or expose it to tensions (twisting, crushing or stretching). Keep the cable away from hot and/or sharp surfaces and elements. Avoid crushing the cables in

doors and windows. Do not pull the cable tight around corners. Avoid treading on the cable. Do not pass over the cable with the appliance. Do not wind the power cable around the appliance, especially if the appliance is hot.

  • Do not substitute the plug on the power cable.
  • If the power cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its service agent in order to avoid all possible hazards. Do not turn on and use the product if the power cable is damaged.
  • Do not touch or use the appliance barefoot and/or with wet body or feet.
  • Do not use the appliance near containers full of water, e.g. sinks, baths and swimming pools.
  • Do not immerse the appliance, including the power cable and plug, in water or other liquids.

  • The product should not be used in areas where there is a danger of explosions or in the presence of toxic substances.
  • Do not vacuum onto toxic substances, acids, solvents, detergents or corrosive substances. The handling and removal of dangerous substances must be carried out according to the indications of the manufacturers of these substances.
  • Do not vacuum onto explosive powders or liquids, hydrocarbons, open flames and or extremely hot objects.
  • Keep all body parts away from the vacuum intake and from any moving parts.
  • Do not use the vacuum function on people and/or animals.
  • Re-wind the cable when the appliance is not in use.
  • Do not position the product near sources of heat such as fireplaces, stoves and ovens.
  • Do not obstruct the openings and grills on the product.
  • During use, keep the product in a horizontal position on stable surfaces.

CORRECT USE OF THE PRODUCT

This appliance is intended for internal home use as a vacuum with water filter, in accordance with the descriptions and instructions contained in this manual. Please read these instructions carefully and keep them. If this manual is lost, it can be consulted and/or downloaded from the website www.polti.com. Only vacuum domestic dirt.

Do not use on debris or chalk, cement or residues from building sites or brick laying.

Do not use on earth and sand/soil, etc.

Do not use on ash, soot and combustion residues (fireplaces, barbecues, etc.).

Do not use on printer, photocopier or fax toner and ink powder.

Do not vacuum pointed, sharp or stiff objects.

The appliance only functions correctly with the collector inserted, and complete with all its parts.

Correct use of the product is only as detailed in this instruction manual. Any other use may damage the appliance and invalidate the warranty.

Pursuant to European Directive 2012/19/EU, regarding electric and electronic appliances, this appliance must not be disposed of with domestic waste, but sent to an official collection facility. This appliance complies with EU Directive 2011/65/EU.

POLTI Forzaspira Lecologico Aqua Allergy Turbo Care - INFORMATION FOR USERS - 1

The crossed-out bin symbol on the appliance indicates that, at the end of its useful lifespan, the product must be disposed of separately from other waste. Therefore, at the end of its life, the user must handover the appliance to an appropriate collection centre for electric and electronic waste. Proper separate waste collection to facilitate the subsequent recycling, treatment and environmentally compatible disposal of the appliance helps to prevent negative effects on the environment and human health, and promotes recycling of the materials the product is made of. Unlawful disposal by the owner involves the application of the administrative sanctions envisaged by current legislation.

Polti S.p.A. reserves the right to change equipment or accessory specification without prior notice.

PREPARATION OF THE APPLIANCE

  • Remove the water container (6) from the appliance, holding it by the handle (4) (fig.1).
  • Remove the filter assembly (16) (fig.2).
    Fill the water container (6) with ordinary tap water up to the MAX H2O indicator (7) as shown in figure 3. The required quantity is 800ml. of water.
  • Place the filter assembly (16) in the water container (6), being careful to align them perfectly.
  • Put the water container (6) back inside the appliance, performing the operations listed above in reverse order.
  • Insert the suction opening (D1) on the hose (D) into connection (15) (fig.4).
  • Only for Allergy Turbo model insert the batteries in the remote control handle as illustrated in the section "Replacement of remote control batteries".
    THE PRODUCT IS NOT SUPPLIED WITH BATTERIES.

FUNCTIONING

- Unwind the cable (13) to remove it completely from its housing, pulling the plug towards you (fig.5).

- Plug into a suitable power outlet.

- Press the main switch (1) (fig.6) and the first level of the indicator lights (14) will begin flashing. This means Lecologico is in the pause position. Hold down the button (18) for more than one second, then release it. Lecologico will begin operating at minimum speed, and the first indicator light (14) will stay on.

- There are four power levels. We recommend minimum power for curtains, medium/low power for sofas, armchairs and cushions, medium/high for carpets and high for floors and hard surfaces (ceramics, marble, etc.).

- Press button (18) to increase speed; each time you press button (18), the motor power increases by one step. At each speed increase a further level of the indicator lights come on.

- Press button (19) to decrease speed; at each speed decrease a further level of the indicator lights goes out.

- To restore the appliance to the pause position, hold down button (18) for more than one second, then release it.

FUNCTIONING VIA REMOTE CONTROL

Only for Allergy Turbo model

  • Lecologico offers you the advantage of operating by using the buttons placed on the machine body or the remote control handle without distinction. In the latter case, you will have all the functions on hand, without having to bend down.
  • Press the button (20). Lecologico will start to function at minimum speed and the first indicator light (14) will stay on.
  • In order to increase the speed, press the button (21). Each time the button is pressed (21) the power of the motor will be increased by one level. Each time the speed increases another level, the next level of indicator lights come on.
  • By pressing the button (22) the machine does the opposite, each time the button is pressed the power of the motor will decrease and the light indicator will go out.
  • To restore the appliance to the pause position, hold down button (20).

TURBO FUNCTION

Only for Allergy Turbo model

The Turbo function makes it possible to avail of greater suction power for a limited period of time.

Functioning:

• Take the suction power to the fourth speed (all four light indicators (14) lit up).
- Press the button (18) or (21). At this point, Lecologico's suction power will increase for a duration of around 10 seconds and then return to the fourth speed. The overboost function is indicated by the progressive lighting up of the light indicators (14).

NOTE: For 20 seconds following the switching off of this function, it is not possible to re-activate it.

DRY - LIQUID SUCTION

The appliance can be used in the same way to vacuum up dust or limited amount of liquids. If the water is very dirty, replace it as described in the section on “Emptying and cleaning the water container”. When the dirt collected in the water container (6) reaches the maximum permitted level, the safety float (W) will automatically stop the suction. The motor will

turn over audibly faster. After 10 seconds the appliance will automatically pause and the four indicator lights (14) will start flashing. To resume cleaning, perform the operations described in the section on

“emptying and cleaning the water container”, then top up the water level in the container.

BIOECOLOGICO (I)

Bioecologico is an anti-foaming and deodorising product containing natural substances. It prevents foaming inside the water filter thus ensuring correct functioning of the appliance. When diluted inside the dirt collection tank, Bioecologico also acts as an effective deodoriser and thanks to the natural substances which it is composed of, it prevents unpleasant smells inside the collection tank and releases a fresh clean fragrance into the environment.

WARNING:

  • Keep out of the reach of children.
  • IF SWALLOWED: Rinse mouth DO NOT induce vomiting.
    Immediately contact a POISON CENTRE or a doctor.
  • Avoid contact with eyes, skin or clothing.
  • Avoid releasing into the environment.
  • Dispose of in conformity with local regulations.

CONTAINS: Eugenol, Citral, Cinnamal - May cause an allergic reaction.

HOW TO USE BIOECOLOGICO

  • Add water to the water filter as instructed in this manual.
  • Shake the phial before use.
  • Bend and break the phial cap.
  • Pour the contents of the phial into the water filter collector of the appliance.

NOTE: Use 1 phial per use.

A possible change in the colour of the liquid does not alter the functioning or the efficacy of the product

EMPTYING AND CLEANING THE WATER CONTAINER (6)

Turn off the appliance with the main switch (1) and unplug the power cable. This precaution also resets the safety device.

Remove the water container (6) from the appliance, holding it by the handle (4) (fig.1). Remove the filter assembly (16) (fig.2), empty the container tipping it toward the side with the spout (fig.7), and then rinse it out. Top up the water level if you want to continue working.

Reassemble the filter cage and put it back inside the appliance. The appliance is now ready to be put away.

Note: water in the container will not damage the appliance, but it is advisable to empty the container before putting away Lecologico. One of the greatest benefits offered by Lecologico is the fact that you can put it away clean, unlike vacuum cleaners with bags, which must be put away with the dirt in the bag.

USING THE ACCESSORIES

Accessories can be connected directly to the hose (D) or to the telescopic tube (A).

Using the telescopic tube (A)

To increase or decrease length, press the release button (A1) positioned as shown in fig.8 and extend or reduce length as desired.

Using the Brush for vacuuming liquids (B)

The brush for vacuuming liquids can be used to vacuum up solids or liquids on any kind of surface.

Using the universal brush (C)

Connect the brush to the telescopic tube. Press with your foot the selector on the brush (C1) to change the suctioning surface without bending down. The position with bristles extended is recommended for all non-carpeted floors. The position without bristles is recommended for carpets.

NOTE: Do not vacuum liquids with this brush.

Small suction nozzle (E)

The Small suction nozzle, is recommended for cleaning upholstery surfaces such as the joints of sofas, armchairs, mattresses, car upholstery, etc.

Lance for cleaning corners/skirting boards (F) The lance (F) is recommended for thorough vacuum cleaning of hard-to-reach spots such

as skirting-boards and folds in sofas, armchairs, upholstered furniture and car upholstery.

Round brush for dust (G)

The round brush for dust, has soft bristles for dusting delicate surfaces such as picture frames, books, etc.

Mini turbo brush (N)

only for model Allergy Turbo

The mini turbo brush is particularly recommended for cleaning sofas and armchairs, car upholstery, fabric-covered walls, etc.

It easily removes dust, dandruff and textile residues. It is useful for preventing allergies, as the mechanical action of the roller with bristles vacuums up animal hair.

The mini turbo brush also has a hard rubber bristle attachment, useful on more difficult dirt. To remove the bristle attachment, press the two pivots found on the side of the brush and then remove it (fig.16)

(don't use the bristle attachment on delicate surfaces).

To clean the mini turbo brush, turn the nut and remove the upper part of the mini turbo brush, as shown in fig. 17. Clean the inside of the brush and refit it by following these steps in reverse.

Parquet brush (O)

only for model Allergy Turbo/Allergy Parquet The parquet brush is designed to clean delicate surfaces; it has bristles and wheels in specially selected material to avoid damaging such surfaces.

The hardwood floor wheel cover (P)

only for model Allergy Turbo/Allergy Parquet You should also use wheel covers (P) to prevent damage to your hardwood floor. To assemble wheel covers, simply fit together the two joints (P1) in the housings on the bottom of the appliance (fig.13). To release the tool, simply press the two joints (P1) inward and lift off the wheel cover.

AUTOMATIC CABLE WINDER

Before putting your vacuum cleaner away, rewind the power cable by pressing the button (2), as shown in fig.11, being careful to accompany it during winding.

USE OF THE ACCESSORIES HOLDER

The accessories holder allows to fix the tube with the brush mounted on it on the appliance body.

Reposition on the appliance body: make the groove on the back of the brush slide into the guide of the accessories holder on the appliance (Fig.11).

CLEANING THE WATER FILTER ASSEMBLY (16):

  • Pull the nozzle (17c) until it comes off the filter cage. Separate the cage body (17a) from the cage cover (17).
  • Remove the sponge filter (17b) from the cage. If the filter is damaged, replace it. Rinse all the components under running water. Let the sponge filter dry before putting it back into the appliance.
  • Reassemble the filter assembly, repeating the operations in the reverse order.

Note: Make sure that the filter nozzle (17c) is correctly positioned, checking that the arrow on the nozzle is aligned with the notch on the bottom of the cage (17a) (fig.12).

  • If the filter needs replacing, always use an original filter, available from Polti Technical Service Centres.
  • A cleaning brush (Z) is supplied for easy cleaning of the water container (6); it can also be used to clean the appliance's hose connections and the accessories inside.

NOTE: Do not use the brush for cleaning the outside of the appliance

CLEANING THE HEPA FILTER (10)

Proceed as follows to clean filters:

  • press the two levers on the filter cover (9a) and pull off the filter cover (9) (fig.14).
  • Rotate the filter retainer (10a) as shown in fig.15 and remove the Hepa filter (10) (fig.15);
  • Rinse the filter in cold running water. Shake it gently after washing to eliminate any residual dirt and excess water.

NOTE: let the filter dry naturally, far away from light and heat sources. You should wait 24 hours before reassembling the filter in the appliance.

- Replace the filter if it is torn.

- The filter should be cleaned every 4 months.

WARNING: do not clean filters with the brush, as this could damage them, decreasing their filtering capacity.

Do not use detergents, do not scrape filters, and do not wash them in a dishwasher.

CARE OF YOUR APPLIANCE

  • Before attempting any maintenance operation, make sure to always disconnect the appliance from the mains
  • To clean the body of the appliance, simply use a moist cloth.

REPLACEMENT OF REMOTE CONTROL BATTERIES

only for Allergy Turbo model

THE PRODUCT IS NOT SUPPLIED WITH BATTERIES.

In order to work, the remote control handle needs to be powered by two 1.5V AAA batteries. The battery life depends on the frequency of use. If the vacuum cleaner does not respond to the remote control, replace the batteries.. Take the remote control handle, press the lever on the battery cover (23), pulling it towards the remote control's keypad.Remove the small cover and replace the batteries taking care to match up the + and - signs with those indicated. Replace the cover (25).

NOTE: please respect the environment. We recommend that batteries are disposed of in the appropriate disposal bins.

WARRANTY

This appliance is for domestic use only and is guaranteed for two years from the date of purchase against any defects present at the time the goods are handed over; the date of purchase must be proven via a proof of purchase document valid for tax purposes and issued by the seller.

For repairs, the appliance must be accompanied by proof of purchase.

This warranty does not affect the consumer rights deriving from European Directive 99/44/EC as regards some aspects of sale and warranty of consumer goods, rights which the consumer should uphold with respect to the seller.

This warranty is valid in the countries which adhere to European Directive 99/44/EC. For other countries, local regulations on warranties apply.

WHAT THE WARRANTY COVERS

During the warranty, Polti guarantees free repair of a product with a manufacturing or factory defect and, therefore, the client is not liable to pay for any work or materials.

In case of irreparable defects, Polti may replace the product free of charge.

To avail of the warranty, the customer should visit one of the Polti Authorised Service Centres with proof of purchase from the seller valid for tax purposes and bearing the date of purchase of the product. Without proof of purchase and the relative date of purchase, the work will be charged for. Store the proof of purchase document safely for the whole duration of the warranty.

WHAT THE WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER

  • Any fault or damage not deriving from a manufacturing defect.
  • Any fault due to improper use or use other than that indicated in the instruction booklet, an integral part of the product sales contract.
  • Any defect resulting from force majeure (fires, short circuits) or caused by third parties (tampering).
  • Damage caused by the use of non-original Polti parts, and repairs or modifications performed by staff or service centres not authorised by Polti.
  • Damage caused by the customer.
  • Parts (filter, brush, hose, battery, etc.) damaged by use (consumable goods) or normal wear and tear.
  • Any damage caused by limescale.
  • Defects resulting from lack of maintenance/cleaning according to the manufacturer's instructions.
  • Assembly of non-original Polti accessories or those that have been modified or which are not suitable for the appliance.

Inappropriate use and/or use not compliant with the instructions for use and any other warnings or indications contained in this manual invalidates the warranty.

Polti takes no responsibility for any direct or indirect damage to people, objects or animals caused by non-compliance with the instructions indicated in this instruction booklet, regarding warnings for use and product maintenance.
