III. PREPARATION AND USE

Remove all packaging materials and take out the grill with its accessories. Remove all adhesive foils, stickers or paper from the grill. When using the grill for the first time, put the pans with a little oil in them (without food) on the side rack A3 and place the grilling surface A2 (without the food) on the supporting laths. Set the maximum temperature and let an grill in operation with a window open for about 10 minutes, then turn it off and let it cool down. Short mild emission of smoke is not a defect and is no reason for complaint. After it has cooled down clean the parts that will come in contact with food using hot water with detergent, thoroughly rinse with clean water and wipe dry, if necessary allow to dry (see paragraph V. MAINTENANCE). The appliance is now ready for use.

Grill assembly

Grill assembly is easy and intuitive. Put the grill plate A2 and the bottom panel A3 in the grill base A1, and if necessary, place the pans B in the recesses of bottom panel A3. First, put the bottom panel A3 in the base A1, and then put the grill plate A2 on the grill base A1 so that the plate openings will match the base projections.

IV. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

Place the grill on a dry and even surface (e.g. kitchen table) at a height of at least 85 cm, out of the reach of children. Insert the power plug A4 into the power socket and check that it does not lead under the grill. Make sure that the power supply cord is not damaged and that it is not led underneath the appliance or over any sharp or hot surfaces. The socket must be readily accessible so that the appliance could be easily disconnected from the mains in case of danger. Set the temperature regulator A5 to the MAX position. The operation setting indicator A6 will turn on. Allow the grill to heat up for approximately 10 minutes without placing any food (or pans) on it. Working temperature is achieved when the indicator light A6 turns off. Place the food on grilling surface A2. Turn off the grill by turning the temperature regulator A5 to position 0 (and unplug supply cord from el. socket) a few minutes before finishing grilling because the hotplate is sufficiently hot to complete the grilling of the food.

Note

  • When the temperature is changed using the temperature regulator A5 during the course of grilling it will take approx. 5 to 10 minutes for the hotplate to achieve the set temperature.
  • When a large amount of food is processed, the capacity of the fat outflow groove may be insufficient. In order to empty it, first switch off the appliance, let the grill plate A2 cool down, and then remove the fat.
  • The recesses on the sides of the grill base A1 are intended to hold and move the grill set.
  • While heating the thermostat may cycle (the indicator light turns on and off). This is not considered to be a defect.

Important notice

  • Always allow the hotplates to heat up to working temperature before placing food on them.
  • Do not touch the metal parts of the grill or the hotplate during grilling, because these parts are HOT! Pay special care to ensure that children do not touch the hotplate!
  • Never place frozen or heavy foods on a hotplate.
  • Do not leave an empty grill turned on for longer than 30 minutes.
  • Never cut food that is being prepared on the grilling surface!
  • Household pets (e.g. exotic birds) may have sensitive reactions to smells/odours, steam and smoke created while food is being cooked. For this reason we recommend that food is cooked in a different room.

All recommended cooking times for foods recommended in expert literature (cookbooks) assume that meat has the temperature as when taken from the refrigerator. Cooking frozen meat may take significantly longer.

Consider the following cooking tips as examples and inspiration, the purpose of which is not to provide instructions but to show various ways of cooking food. Cooking (processing) times for foods are only approximations and are in the range of minutes. The cooking time will change depending on the temperature of the grill, the surrounding area and the type of food being cooked. You may adjust the cooking time depending on your preference, the longer the food is cooked the more well done it will be, crunchier. Carefully monitor the food while cooking on the grill and adjust the cooking time as you see necessary. Turning the food over more regularly will achieve more even cooking. Before grilling vegetables, fish or lean meat, we recommend that you grease the hotplate with vegetable oil or spray it with a special spray that prevents foods from sticking. When cooking meat containing fat or foods that have been marinated it is not necessary to treat the hotplate in this way. Use only fresh foods (not frozen). Remove sinew and fat from the meat. Remove bones from fish. Cut the food you wish to grill into small thin slices. If you will be cooking various types of food after each other (e.g. meat, fish, fruit), we recommend that you clean the remains from the hotplate between the individual stages using wooden tongs or spatula. Do not clean the hotplate with water when hot!

You may use the following table as a guide for determining the approximate grilling time:

FoodCooking time (min.)Status check

Chicken breasts, slice about 1 cm thick 5 – 6 the meat must not be pink

Neck of pork, slice about 1cm thick 8 – 9 the meat must not be pink

Beef rump, slice about 1cm thick 4 – 5 to taste

Pans (B)

They are intended for preparation/heating up of other side dishes (cheese, eggs, vegetables, etc.). during the preparation of the meat. Place a slice/piece of cheese into the pans (e.g. edam, camembert etc.) and place the pans on the side rack A3. The cheese melts nicely in approx. 5 minutes. Do not leave empty pans on the side rack.

V. MAINTENANCE

Before carrying out any maintenance disconnect the appliance from the power grid by pulling out the plug on the power cord from the el. socket! Only clean the grill once it has cooled down! Clean regularly after every use by wiping with a soft damp cloth and with soap! Do not use abrasive or aggressive cleaning agents (e.g. sharp objects, caustic pipe cleaning agents etc.). Also do not use any pressure cleaning equipment (e.g. dishwasher, pressure or steam cleaner)! After each use, remove all residues of fat or food stuck on the grilling surface A2, on the side rack A3 and the grill base A1. Wash the pans B in hot water with soap and wipe dry. If the power cord is soiled, wipe it with a wet cloth. It is normal for the colour of surfaces to change over time. This change in no way changes the properties of the surface and is not a reason for complaint about the appliance!

Storage

Before storage, make sure that the pot and any of its parts have cooled down. Store the grill in a safe and dry location that is out of reach of children and incapacitated persons.
