Frequently Asked Questions - AirCo2ntrol Life TFA

How does the CO₂ monitor detect carbon dioxide?
It uses NDIR (Non-Dispersive Infrared) technology, which measures the absorption of infrared light by CO₂ molecules in the air.
What do the LED colors mean?
Green indicates CO₂ below 800 ppm (good air quality). Yellow for 800–1200 ppm (moderate). Red above 1200 ppm (poor quality), and the buzzer will sound if enabled.
How long does the monitor take to warm up?
The first warm-up after powering on is 2 minutes. During this time, the LCD shows four bars and the mute button is disabled.
Can I turn off the alarm sound?
Yes, press the MUTE button to toggle the buzzer on/off. The setting is remembered until changed.
What power source does the device use?
It can be powered via USB (5 VDC) or the included AC/DC adapter (5 VDC, 1000 mA). Only use the specified adapter.
How accurate is the CO₂ measurement?
Repeatability is ±20 ppm at 400 ppm. Accuracy may be affected by electromagnetic fields above 3 V/m.
How should I clean the device?
Disconnect power before cleaning. Use a damp cloth only; do not use benzene, thinner, or aerosols.
What should I do if the display shows an error code like Err3 or Err5?
Err3 indicates temperature outside the operating range (0–50 °C). The error clears when temperature normalizes. Err5/Err6 indicate an EEPROM problem; try reconnecting the adapter. If persistent, contact service.
Can the monitor be used in high humidity environments?
The operating humidity range is 0–95% RH non-condensing. Avoid condensation as it may damage the device.
Where should I place the CO₂ monitor for best results?
Place it in a well-ventilated area at about breathing height, away from direct heat sources, windows, or vents. Ensure air can diffuse freely into the sensor.
