How do I set the cooking time if it's less than 2 minutes?

Can I use metal containers in this microwave?

No, metal containers or utensils with metal trims should not be used in microwave mode. However, the metal gridiron supplied can be used for grill and combination modes.

What should I do if the oven doesn't start?

Check if the oven is properly plugged in, the door is fully closed and latched, and the timer is set. Also verify the fuse or circuit breaker. If the issue persists, contact a qualified service center.

How do I clean the microwave interior?

Unplug the oven. Wipe the interior with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Do not use abrasive cleaners. For odors, boil 200 ml water with lemon juice and peel for 5 minutes, then dry thoroughly.

What are the combination cooking programs?

There are three programs: Program 1 (20% microwave + 80% grill) for sausages/kebabs; Program 2 (30% + 70%) for chicken pieces; Program 3 (40% + 60%) for whole chicken. Use the Power knob to select.

Why does the turntable sometimes not rotate?

Ensure the glass tray and turntable ring assembly are correctly installed. The glass tray must never be placed upside down, and the turntable shaft should be engaged. Clean the ring and bottom of the oven to prevent noise.

Is it safe to use this microwave without food inside?

No, operating the oven empty can damage it. Always ensure food or a microwave-safe container with liquid is inside when the oven is running.

Can I use the grill function without the metal gridiron?

The metal gridiron is recommended for best results. However, heat-resistant glass or ceramic dishes can be used for grill mode as long as they are microwave-safe.

How do I defrost food in this microwave?

Turn the Power knob to the Defrost position (marked with /). Then set the time using the Time knob. The maximum defrosting time is 35 minutes. The oven uses low power for even thawing.

What is the warranty policy for the Zelmer 29Z017?

PRECAUTIONS TO AVOID POSSIBLE EXPOSURE TO EXCESSIVE MICROWAVE ENERGY

1. Do not attempt to operate this oven with the door open since open-door operation can result in harmful exposure to microwave energy. It is important not to defeat or tamper with the safety interlocks.
2. Do not place any objects between the oven front face and the door or allow soil or cleaner residue to accumulate on sealing surfaces.
3. Do not operate the oven if it is damaged. It is particularly important that the oven door close properly and there is no damage to the:
   – hinges and latches (broken or loosened),

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

While using electrical appliances basic safety precautions should be followed, including the following:

WARNING: To reduce the risk of burns, electric shock, fire, injury to persons or exposure to excessive microwave energy follow the precautions:

1. The microwave oven is intended for household use only.
2. Plug the oven only to a grounded 230 V electrical outlet.

3. Use this appliance only for its intended use as described in the manual. Do not use corrosive chemicals or vapors in this appliance. This oven is especially designed to heat, cook and dry food. It is not designed for industrial or laboratory use.

4. WARNING: Do not operate an empty oven.

5. Do not operate the microwave oven if it has a damaged cord or plug, if it is not working properly or if it has been damaged or dropped. If the non-detachable part of the cord is damaged, it should be replaced by the producer or at a proper service point or by a qualified person in order to avoid any hazards.

The appliance should be repaired by trained staff only. Improper repair can result in serious hazard for a user. In case of defects we recommend you to contact qualified service desk.

1. WARNING: Only allow children to use the oven without supervision when adequate instructions have been given so that the child is able to use the oven in a safe way and understand the hazards of improper use.

2. To reduce the risk of fire inside the oven:
   While heating food in plastic or paper containers, carefully attend – the oven due to the possibility of ignition.
   Remove wire twist-ties from paper or plastic bags before placing – them in the oven.
   If smoke is observed, switch off and unplug the appliance. Do not open the door in order to stifle any flames.
   Do not use the oven cavity for storage purposes Do not leave paper products, dishes and kitchen utensils or food inside the oven when it is not used.

3. WARNING: Liquids and other foods must not be heated in tightly sealed containers since they are liable to explode.

4. Microwave heating of beverages can result in delayed eruptive boiling; therefore take care when handling the container.

5. Do not use the oven to fry food. Hot oil may damage the oven parts or accessories and even cause skin burns.

6. Eggs in shell and whole hard-boiled eggs should not be heated in the microwave oven since they may explode even after microwave heating has ended.

7. Prick food covered with thick skin such as potatoes, whole marrows, apples and chestnuts before cooking.

8. Stir and shake the contents of feeding bottles and baby food jars. Check the temperature before consumption in order to avoid burns

9. Kitchen utensils may become hot due to the heat from the food. Use appropriate handles while handling them.

10. Before using check if the utensils are suitable for use in microwave ovens.

11. WARNING: Microwave oven maintenance and repair which involves removing the cover which gives protection against exposure to microwave energy is dangerous, therefore it can only be performed by a qualified person.

12. Incompetent persons may be exposed to excessive microwave energy if they take off the cover that protects from microwave energy exposure.

13. This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.

Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

1. The appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate remote-control system.

2. WARNING: It is strictly forbidden to remove the foil located at the inner side of the door. It can result in damage of the appliance.

INSTALLATION

1. Make sure all wrappings have been removed from the inside of the oven.
2. WARNING: Check for damage such as a door that is not lined up correctly, damage to door seals and sealing surfaces, broken or loosened hinges or latches, dents inside the oven or on the door. In case of any damage do not operate the appliance and contact the qualified service personnel.
3. Place the microwave oven on an even and stable surface that is strong enough to hold the oven and the heaviest foods you put in it.
4. Do not expose the microwave oven to high temperatures and humidity. Do not place the oven near flammable materials.
5. For the oven to work properly provide an appropriate airflow. Leave a clearance of 30 cm above the oven. A clearance of 7.5 cm is required between the oven and any adjacent walls. One side must be open. Do not cover or block the ventilation openings. Do not remove the legs.
6. Do not operate without the glass tray, turntable shaft and turntable ring properly installed.
7. Make sure the cord is not damaged, is not placed under the oven or above any hot or sharp surface.
8. Ensure an easy access to the outlet so that it is possible to easily unplug the appliance in case of emergency.
9. Do not use the oven outdoors.

GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS

The appliance must be grounded. The oven is equipped with a cord having a grounding wire with a grounding plug.

The plug must be plugged into an outlet that is properly installed and grounded.

In the event of an electrical short circuit, grounding reduces the risk of electric shock by providing an escape wire for the electric current.

The oven should be used in a separate electric circuit.

WARNING: Improper plugging can result in the risk of an electric shock.

Notice: In case of any doubts concerning the grounding or plugging instructions contact a qualified electrician or serviceman.

WARNING: Both the manufacturer and the seller do not accept any liability for any oven damages or injuries resulting from not following the plugging instructions.

RADIO INTERFERENCE

Operating the microwave oven may cause interference to the radio, TV or similar equipment.

Interference can be reduced or removed in the following way:

1. Clean the door and sealing surfaces of the oven.
2. Adjust the receiving antenna of the radio and television.
3. Move the microwave oven so that it changes its position towards the eceiver.
4. Move the microwave oven away from the receiver.
5. Plug the microwave oven into a different outlet so that the microwave oven and the receiver are on different branch circuits

CLEANING AND MAINTAINENECE

1. Switch off and unplug the oven before cleaning.
2. Keep the inside of the oven clean. If necessary remove the food deposits or spilled liquid from the oven walls with a damp cloth. Use a mild detergent to remove heavier soil. Do not use spray cleaners and other strong cleaning agents as they may stain, tarnish or leave streaks on the surface of the oven and door.
   3 Clean the outside surface with a damp cloth. To avoid damaging the subassemblies inside the oven make sure that water does not leak to the inside of the oven ventilation openings.
3. Regularly wipe both sides of the door and window, the door seals and neighboring parts with a damp cloth to remove food deposits or spilled liquid.

Do not use abrasive cleaners.

1. Do not use abrasive detergents such as emulsions, cream cleaners, polishes, etc. to clean the housing. They may remove the graphic information symbols such as scales, marks, warning signs etc.

2. Do not allow the control panel to moisten. To clean use only a soft, damp cloth. In order to avoid accidental starting of the oven open the door before cleaning the control panel.

3. If condensed water vapor begins to appear on the inside or outside of the door, wipe it with a soft cloth. Condensation may occur when the microwave oven is operating under high humidity conditions. In such a case it is a normal situation.

4. Take out and clean the glass tray every once in a while. Wash it in warm water with dishwashing liquid or in the dishwasher.

5. Regularly clean the turntable ring and the bottom of the oven to avoid noise. Clean the bottom surface with a mild detergent. Wash the turntable ring in water with dishwashing liquid or in the dishwasher. While installing the turntable ring make sure to place it properly.

6. To get rid of odors inside the oven boil about 200 ml of water with lemon juice and lemon peel in a microwave safe bowl for 5 minutes. Thoroughly dry the inside of the oven with a dry, soft cloth.

7. If it is necessary to replace the inside light bulb, turn to a service center.

8. Regularly clean the oven and remove food deposits. Failure to follow these instructions may lead to a degradation of the surface which may affect the lifespan of the appliance and lead to a dangerous situation.

BEFORE YOU CONTACT THE SERVICE CENTER

If the oven does not work:

1. Make sure the oven is properly plugged in. If not, unplug the appliance, wait 10 seconds and plug it in again.
2. Check if the fuse is not blown or the circuit breaker tripped. If the above function properly check the electrical outlet by plugging a different electrical appliance.
3. Check if the control panel is properly programmed and the time set.
4. Check if the door is properly closed and latched. The microwave energy shall not be otherwise supplied to the oven.

IF AFTER PERFORMING THE ABOVE ACTIONS THE OVEN STILL DOES NOT WORK CONTACT THE SERVICE CENTER. A MICROWAVE OVEN SHOULD NEVER BE ADJUSTED OR REPAIRED BY A 'DO-IT-YOURSELF' REPAIR PERSON.

NORM REQUIREMENTS

ZELMER microwave oven fulfills the requirements of the existing norms. The appliance is in conformity with the requirements of the directives:

• Low voltage appliance (LVD) - 2006/95/EC.
  Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) - 2004/108/EC.

The appliance was marked by the CE sign on the rating label.

1. Carefully arrange the food. Place the thickest pieces next to the edges of the dish.
2. Check the cooking time. Cook for the shortest indicated time and if necessary prolong cooking. Heavily burned products may generate smoke or ignite.
3. Cover food while cooking. The cover shall prevent the food from "splashing out" and ensure even cooking.
4. During cooking turn products in order to speed up the cooking process of food such as chicken or hamburgers. Turn large products such as roast meat at least once.
5. Change the arrangement of food products such as meatballs in the middle of the cooking period. Products placed on the top should be moved to the bottom and those in the middle should be moved towards the edges of the dish.

KITCHEN UTENSILS- TIPS

Use only microwave safe dishes and kitchen utensils. The ideal material to use in the microwave oven is a transparent one, as it allows energy to infiltrate through the container and heat the food.

1. Do not use metal utensils or dishes with metal trims – microwaves do not infiltrate through metal.
2. Before cooking remove wrappings made of recycled paper, as it may contain metal particles which may cause arcing and/or fire.
3. We advise you to use oval/round dishes instead of square/rectangular ones as food in the corners of the dish burns more often.
4. Protect exposed areas by covering them with narrow stripes of aluminum foil. Remember, however, not to use too much foil and to keep the foil at least 3 cm away from the oven walls.

TURNTABLE INSTALLATION

1. Never place the glass tray upside down. The glass tray should never be restricted.
2. Both glass tray and turntable ring assembly must always be used during cooking.
3. All food and food containers should always be placed on the glass tray.
4. If glass tray cracks or breaks contact your nearest service center.

I. • POWER knob. Is used to set the microwave program – together with the power level (9 programs).

II. TIME knob - Is used to set the time for a given program. The maximum time of one operating cycle is 35 minutes.

ATTENTION If the cooking time is to be shorter than 2 minutes, first turn the Time (II) knob beyond the mark indicating 2 minutes and next move back the Time (II) knob to set the desired time.

SWITCHING ON THE OVEN

Plug the appliance into an appropriate outlet.

Place the food in the microwave oven and close the door before programming.

MICROWAVE COOKING

There are 5 levels of microwave cooking which are to be selected according to a given dish.

In order to choose the right cooking power (see table below), turn the POWER (I) knob clockwise and set it on the selected symbol.

Next, turn the ⬤ Time (II) knob clockwise to set the desired time.

The maximum microwave cooking time of one operating cycle is 35 minutes.

CAUTION! The oven starts to operate immediately after setting the time.

DEFROSTING

This function allows defrosting frozen food.

To select defrosting turn the Power (I)knob setting it in position /(2) .

Next turn the ⬤ TIME (II) knob clockwise to set the desired time or the appropriate weight. The maximum defrosting time for one operating cycle is 35 minutes.

CAUTION!

The oven starts to operate immediately after setting the time.

GRILL

The grill function is especially useful to prepare thin slices of meat, steaks, chops, kebabs, sausages or chicken pieces. It's also useful to prepare toasts and dishes coated with breadcrumbs.

To select the grill function turn the ● Power (I) knob clockwise and set it in the GRILL (9) position.

Next, turn the ⬤ TIME (II) knob clockwise to set the desired grill time.

The maximum grilling time for one operating cycle is 35 minutes.

CAUTION!

The oven starts to operate immediately after setting the time.

The maximum combination mode cooking time for one operating cycle is 35 minutes.

CAUTION!

The oven starts to operate immediately after setting the time.

AFTER OPERATING

Each time when a given function ends, you will hear a beep, indicating that the oven finished operating.

To stop the oven during operation, open the door by pulling the handle. Closing the door once again will automatically start the oven according to the previously selected settings.

If the food is taken out from the oven before the set program time elapses ALWAYS TURN THE KNOB TO ZERO POSITION Operating the microwave oven without food inside may damage the appliance.

ECOLOGY - ENVIRONMENT PROTECTION

Each user can protect the natural environment. It is neither difficult nor expensive.

In order to do it: put the cardboard packing into recycling paper container; put the polyethylene (PE) bags into container for plastic.

When worn out, dispose the appliance to particular disposal centre, because of the dangerous elements of this appliance, which can be hazardous for natural environment.
