Frequently Asked Questions - SR-GA541H PANASONIC

Why is my rice hard after cooking?
The rice/water ratio is incorrect. Add a little more water or check the level markings. Make sure to use the provided measuring cup.
Why is the rice burned at the bottom of the pan?
Several possible causes: rice not rinsed properly, scratches on the cooking pan, or food debris between the pan and the heating plate. Clean the pan and plate carefully.
How to prevent water from overflowing during cooking?
Do not exceed the maximum water level indicated in the pan. Make sure the cooker is level and do not add too much water relative to the amount of rice.
How long does it take to cook rice?
Cooking time varies with quantity and type of rice. The unit stops automatically when rice is cooked. Let it rest covered for 15 minutes after cooking.
Can I use brown rice or other types of rice?
Yes, but brown rice requires more water. Follow instructions on the package or adjust water amount to taste.
How to clean the heating plate?
Unplug the unit. If residues are stuck, gently rub the plate with fine sandpaper (600 grit) or steel wool, then wipe with a damp cloth.
What to do if the unit does not turn on?
Check that the plug is properly connected and the outlet works. If the circuit breaker has not tripped, take the unit to an authorized service center.
Can I use an extension cord?
Use of extension cords is not recommended for safety reasons. Use only the short cord provided.
How to measure rice correctly?
Use the provided measuring cup (approx. 180 ml). One cup of raw rice yields about 3 cups of cooked rice.
Is it safe to leave the unit unattended?
It is recommended to monitor the unit during operation. Keep out of reach of children and unplug after use.
