Read the operating instructions carefully before using the tool and always observe the safety rules.

Warning
Non-observance of the safety rules while working with this tool may cause fire, explosion, or burns. Exercise care when using the tool in the proximity of combustible materials. Do not use the tool in an explosive atmosphere. Heat may be conducted to combustible materials that are out of sight. Do not leave the tool unattended when in operation. Use national working guidelines regarding safe work environment with open flame / propane torches.
Beware of toxic gases and ignition hazards
Toxic gases may occur when working on plastics, paints varnishes or similar materials. Avoid breathing in vapours, even when they appear to be harmless. Be aware of fire and ignition hazards.
Caution
For your own safety, only use the accessories and attachments that are shown in the operating instructions or recommended or specified by the manufacturer. Using attachments or accessories other than those recommended in the operating instructions or catalogue may result in personal injury. This tool should not be used by children or others who lack the appropriate knowledge or training.

Disposal
Dispose this product in accordance with national regulation.

Connection of regulator / hose-failure valve to gas cylinder
Connect the inlet thread [cylinder connection] to a suitable gas cylinder and the outlet thread [hose connection] direct to the hose nut connection or by a hose-failure valve. All connections have a left-handed thread (notch in nut) and must be tightened with a suitable spanner.
Leakage check
Check for leakage every time when connected to the gas cylinder. Close the control knob of any connected appliance. Open the gas cylinder valve slowly and brush or spray the connections with leakspray or a soapy solution (detergent + water or the like). Look for leaks which will occur as bubbles. If bubbles occur, close the gas cylinder valve and check that all washers are undamaged and in place. Also check tightness of connections. If this does not help, contact your authorised dealer. NOTE! Never search for a leak with an open flame. No smoking!
Hose-failure valves
A hose-failure valve automatically shuts off the gas in the event of hose fracture, major leakage or if gas withdrawal from the cylinder is too high. Use of a hose-failure valve gives a considerably added safety against accidents. If the hose-failure valve has closed, the cylinder valve must be closed and eventual damage repaired. To re-set the valve, open the gas cylinder valve and depress the re-set button on the hose-failure valve. Using a too long gas hose may impair the function of the hose-failure valve. Maximum length of hose with an interior diameter of 5mm (3/16") is 8 metres (26 feet) and with a hose with a interior diameter of 8mm (5/16") is 16 metres (52 feet).
Lighting, regulating and extinguishing
The size of the flame is regulated with the regulating knob. When the knob is opened, the air present in the hose will escape first so that it will take a few seconds before the burner can be lit, particularly in the case of the smaller burners. Extinguishing by closing the regulating knob. In the event of a burn-back shut off the torch and re-ignite. Make sure that the area of work is well ventilated when use of the appliances. Important for performance and safety!
General Safety
Shut-off of gas supply is always made by closing the cylinder valve.
Never use a regulator or hose-failure valve as a handle to lift the gas cylinder. This might damage the valve and make it non-functional.
Always change or fit the gas cartridge or cylinder in a safe place, only outside, away from any source of ignition such as naked flames, pilot lights, electric fires and away from other people.
If you have to check the gas soundness of the appliance, do this outdoors.
Do not check for leaks with a naked flame. Use soapy water only.
If there has been a leakage you have to be extra careful and evacuate the gas by ventilation.
Note that LP Gas is heavier than air, therefore it can easily accumulate in trenches or below ground level. Never try to repair or modify a defective regulator yourself.
Always keep the gas cylinder standing up. Follow instruction provided on the gas cylinder and have the Safety Datasheet available.
Never leave the appliance unattended when lit.
General advice and care
Always use two spanners when assembling the burner system [see page 2].
Check the burner system for leakage before each use.
Clean the burner nozzle, burner head and cover after each use. Cleaning should be done with brass brush or steel brush while the burner is still hot. When cleaning always use protective equipment.
Sharp objects or excessive force risk damaging the tool.
Use of pilot flame should only take place for a limited time.
The burner must not be altered or modified in any way.
The burner system must always be used with the associated Sievert regulator.
Neck tube support must always be mounted during use.
