Never immerse the kettle or power base in water or any other liquid.

Wipe the exterior of the kettle and power base with a dry, absorbent cloth.

Before putting the kettle back into operation, disconnect the plug from the socket and wipe off the water with a dry, absorbent cloth.

Never operate the kettle with a wet power base.

OPERATION

Before Initial Use

If you are using the kettle for the first time, it is recommended that you clean it before use by boiling a full kettle of water twice and then discarding the water.

Usage

To fill the kettle with water, remove it from the power base and open the lid by pressing the lid release button. Fill it with the desired amount of water. Always fill the kettle between the minimum (0.3L) and maximum (1.0L) marks. Too little water will cause the kettle to switch off before the water has boiled.

NOTE: Do not fill the kettle above the maximum level, as water may spill out of the spout when boiling. Ensure that the lid is firmly in place before connecting the power cord to the socket.

Position the kettle on the power base.

Plug it into a power socket. Turn the ON/OFF switch to the ON position. The indicator light will illuminate, and the

boiling process will begin. The kettle will switch off automatically once the water has boiled and the light turns off. You can stop the boiling process at any time by lifting the ON/OFF switch to the OFF position.

NOTE: Ensure the switch is free from obstructions and that the lid is firmly closed. The kettle will not turn off if the switch is blocked or if the lid is left open. Lift the kettle from the power base and pour the water.

NOTE: Handle with care when pouring, as boiling water may cause scalding. Do not open the lid while the kettle is still hot, as steam may cause burns.

The kettle will not re-boil until the ON/OFF switch has been reset. Allow it to cool for 15–20 seconds before switching it back on. The kettle may be stored on the power base when not in use.

NOTE: Ensure the power supply is switched off when the kettle is not in use.

Boil-Dry Protection

If the kettle is accidentally operated without water, the boil-dry protection feature will automatically switch it off. If this occurs, allow the kettle to cool before refilling it with cold water and re-boiling.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Always disconnect the appliance from the power socket before cleaning.

Never immerse the kettle or power cord in water, or allow moisture to come into contact with these parts.

The exterior of the kettle can be wiped clean with a damp cloth.

Cleaning the Exterior

Wipe the exterior of the kettle with a soft, damp cloth or mild cleaner. Never use harsh or toxic cleaners.

Cleaning the Filter

Remember to clean the filter regularly with a soft, damp cloth. The filter can be detached for easier cleaning by simply pulling it out.

CAUTION: Do not use chemical, steel, wooden, or abrasive cleaners on the kettle's exterior.

Removal of Mineral Deposits

Mineral deposits from tap water may cause discolouration inside the kettle. To remove this build-up, use a liquid descaler, a simple and non-toxic cleaner. Use a liquid descaler, available in commerce or authorized FLAMA technical assistance posts, and follow the instructions.

Alternatively:

Fill the kettle with 1/4 to 1/2 cup (60-120 ml) of white vinegar and add water up to the maximum level. Leave it to stand overnight. Do not boil.

Empty the solution from the kettle. Any remaining stains inside the spout can be removed by rubbing with a damp cloth. Fill the kettle with clean water, bring it to the boil, and then discard the water. Repeat this process if necessary. The kettle will then be ready for use.

STORAGE

When not in use, the power cord can be wound around the cord storage area underneath the base of the kettle. The kettle can be left on the power base or stored separately.

ANOMALIES AND REPAIR

In case of malfunction, please take the appliance to an authorized Technical Assistance Service. Do not attempt to disassemble or repair the appliance, as this may be dangerous.
