Basic safety instructions
- The appliance is intended to be used in household only and using in:
– staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments,
– in farm houses,
– by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments,
— on bed and breakfast type environments.
- Have repairs of Cloer electronic appliances carried out only by authorized Cloer specialist dealers or by the Cloer customer service. Improper repairs can involve substantial dangers for the user. Furthermore, this will void your warranty claims.
- Only operate the appliance at household-usual power sockets. Check if the mains voltage stated on the type plate is up to that of your power supply network.
- The device must be connected to a power outlet with protective ground.
- If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by Cloer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
- Pull power plug of the power socket
– in case of a defect,
- if the appliance is not used for a longer time,
– before any cleaning.
- Only pull at the plug, never at the feed cable.
- Do not stretch the feed cable over sharp edges and do not tighten it too tight.
- Do not use it for carrying and protect it from heat (hotplate, for example).
- Do not tighten the feed cable too tight as otherwise the appliance is likely to tip over.
- This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
- Do not leave children unattended to ensure they do not play with the appliance.
- Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children less than 8 years.
- Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised.
- Do not immerse the appliance in water.
- Protect your appliance from humidity (splash water / rain).
- Let the appliance cool off before cleaning or stowing away.
- Do not use the appliance outdoors.
- Please ensure that no water spills onto the appliance's power connection.
- Only use the appliance for cooking rice and steaming food. Misuse may result in injury.
- CAUTION: After use, the appliance's heating plate remains hot. Risk of burns!
- CAUTION: Hot steam escapes from the lid opening during operation, risk of burns.

Before the first use

Read these operating instructions carefully before using the appliance for the first time.
- Remove all packing parts and possibly stickers, but not the type plate nor the serial number.
- Clean the rice cooker with a damp cloth and rinse the individual parts, such as the inner pot, rice spoon, measuring cup, and steam tray, with water.
- Place the rice cooker on a dry, non-slip, level surface.

The appliance meets the requirements of the applicable EC directives.

The appliance is designed for indoor domestic use only.

ATTENTION! Always unplug the appliance when not in use and before cleaning.
Start up Rice preparation
- Plug the mains plug into the socket. The buzzer sounds once and the indicator lights flash.
- Measure out the desired amount of rice using the measuring cup and wash it.
- Pour the rice into the inner pot of the rice cooker.
- Now add the appropriate amount of water to the inner pot with the rice according to the scale.

- Now spread the rice evenly in the water.
- Close the lid of the rice cooker and press it down firmly until you hear a click.
- Now press the "Rice" mode selection button. The cooking process starts and the indicator light illuminates.
- The rice cooker will now automatically go through the following phases:
- Preheating: The appliance heats the water to approx. 65 °C.
- Water absorption: The temperature is kept constant at approx. 65^ C for a certain period of time, so that the rice can absorb the water well.
- Heating: The temperature rises until the water reaches boiling point.
- Cooking: The rice is being cooked.
- Keeping warm: After cooking, the appliance automatically switches to keep-warm mode (approx. 72 °C) and keeps the rice warm for up to 24 hours.
- The cooking time is approx. 30 minutes. After co-oking, 10 beeps will sound. Use the rice spoon to serve the cooked rice as desired.
- To end the keep warm mode or cancel the cooking process, press the Warm/Cancel button. The LED flashes and the appliance switches to standby mode.
- To turn off the appliance, unplug it from the power outlet.
NOTICE
During keep warm operation, the "Rice" or "Porridge/Soup" buttons cannot be used. First press "Warm/Cancel" to end the keep-warm function before starting another programme.
Prepare porridge/soup
- Fill 1/3 to 1 measuring cup of rice with water according to the scale in the inner pot of the rice cooker.
- Now close the lid of the rice cooker and press down firmly until you hear a click.
- Plug the mains plug into the socket. The buzzer sounds once and the indicator lights flash.
- Now press the mode selection button 'Porridge/ Soup'. The cooking process starts and the indicator light illuminates.
- The cooking time is approx. 60-70 minutes. After co -oking, 10 beeps will sound.
- The appliance automatically switches to keep warm mode for 24 hours.
- To end the keep warm mode or cancel the cooking process, press the Warm/Cancel button. The LED flash and the appliance switches standby mode.
- To turn off the appliance, unplug it from the power outlet
NOTICE
For porridge and soups, less rice and significantly more water is used.

NOTICE
The rice cooker has a memory function: If, for example, the 'Porridge' programme is started and the power is interrupted after 10 minutes, the appliance will continue the programme from the same point when it is switched back on.
Steam cooking
Caution! Never use the appliance without water.
- Pour approx. 1-2 cups of water into the empty inner pot.
- Now cut the ingredients of your choice and place them on the steaming tray.
- Place the steaming tray on top of the inner pot in the rice cooker, which is filled with water.
- Carefully close the lid of the rice cooker until it clicks into place. Now select the appropriate programme.
- If the steam cooking time is approx. 30 minutes, use the mode selector button 'Rice'.
- If the steaming time is approx. 60-70 minutes, use the mode selector button 'Porridge/Soup'.
- Now add the appropriate amount of water to the inner pot with the rice according to the scale.
- When the steaming process is complete, 10 beeps will sound.
- The appliance automatically switches to keep warm mode for 24 hours.
- To end the keep warm mode or cancel the cooking process, press the Warm/Cancel button. The LED flash and the device switches standby mode.
- Now carefully remove the steam attachment.
- Caution! Hot steam.
- To turn off the appliance, unplug it from the power outlet
NOTICE
Always use sufficient water to generate steam and check the water level during longer cooking times.
Cleaning
Caution! Disconnect the appliance from the power supply and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
- Remove the inner pot, rice spoon, measuring cup and steam attachment.
- Clean the removable parts such as the inner pot, rice spoon, measuring cup and steam attachment under running water with washing-up liquid.
- Please do not hold the rice cooker under running water. Clean with a damp cloth only.
Environmentally friendly disposal
We use environmentally friendly packaging for the transport of our appliances. Please recycle cardboard/paper and plastic packaging appropriately.

ATTENTION!
Electrical appliances should not be disposed of with the household trash.
Electrical appliances contain valuable raw materials. When an appliance is worn-out, please take it to a recognised recycling facility. Consult the local authorities for information on recycling appliances.
Warranty
Cloer electrical appliances are in conformity with the currently required EC-guidelines and safety regulations. If your Cloer electrical appliance has a defect or it does not work properly, contact your specialist dealer.
Registered clients have at their disposal our technical customer service.
Manufacturer warranty
