This appliance has a two year warranty period. During this period the manufacturer is responsible for any failures that are the direct result of construction failure. When these failures occur the appliance will be repaired or replaced if necessary. The warranty will not be valid when the damage to the appliance is caused by wrong use, not following the instructions or repairs executed by a third party. The warranty will only be valid if the warranty application has been completed by the dealer at the time of purchase. All parts, which are subject to wear, are excluded from the warranty.

If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or a similarly qualified person in order to avoid a hazard.

This appliance may be used by children from the age of 8 and up, and also by persons with a physical or sensory limitation, as well as mentally limited persons or persons with a lack of experience and knowledge. But only on the condition that these persons have received the necessary instructions on how to use this appliance in a safe way and know the dangers that can occur by using this appliance.

Children cannot be allowed to play with the appliance. Maintenance and cleaning of the appliance may not be done by children, unless they are older than 8 years old and are under supervision.

Keep the appliance out of reach of children younger than 8 years old.

This appliance is suitable to be used in a household environment and in similar surroundings such as:

• Kitchen for personnel of shops, offices or other similar professional surroundings
  Farms
• Hotel or motel rooms and other surroundings with a residential character
  Guest rooms or similar

Attention: This appliance cannot be used with an external timer or a separate remote control.

1. Read all the instructions.
2. Never touch the hot surfaces.
3. Never immerse the appliance, the plug or the electrical cord in water or any other liquid.
4. Be very careful when the appliance is used near or by children.
5. Remove the plug from the socket when the appliance is not in use or when you want to clean it.
6. Don't use the appliance when the plug or the power cord have been damaged, when the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged. Return the appliance to a service center for repair.
7. Only use the original accessories to prevent damage.
8. Only use indoors.
9. Make sure the power cord is not in the way and cannot touch hot surface.
10. Never place the appliance near a stove, a radiator or a hot oven.
11. When connecting the plug to the socket the appliance must be turned off.
12. Only use the appliance for the intended use.
13. The carafe is only suited for this coffee maker. Never use it on a cooking stove.
14. Never place a hot carafe on a hot or wet surface.

15. A broken carafe or a carafe of which the handle is loose may no longer be used.

16. Don't clean the carafe with abrasive cleaners, rough spounge or other harsh cleaners.

17. The carafe cannot be heated up in a microwave oven.
18. ATTENTION: Never open the bottom of the appliance, repairs need to be done by a qualified electrician.

Otherwise you run the risk of burns or electric shock.

TO REMEMBER

• This appliance is for household use only.
• Check if the household current is the same as the current mentioned on the appliance.
• Never fill the water tank above the max. indicated level.
• Never add water when the appliance is still working. Turn off the appliance, let it cool en than refill.
• Never place the carafe on a hot surface or in a hot oven.
• Don't touch the cord or the hot surface of the appliance when it is working.
• Don't use any abrasive cleaners or rough spunge for cleaning the appliance.

POWER CORD

• The appliance has a short power cord to prevent tripping or entaglement.
• Be very careful when using an extension cord.
• When using an extension cord, think of the following :
• The indicated power of the extension cord needs to be at least the same as the appliance
• Make sure the extension cord is not draped over the table or counter top, children could pull it or you could trip over it.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

Before the first use: let clean water run through the coffee maker twice.

1. Take the carafe.
2. Open the lid of the water tank.
3. Fill the carafe with the necessary amount of water en pour it into the water tank. Never use warm water.
4. Place a paper filter in the filter holder.
5. Fill the paper filter with the desired amount of coffee.

6. Place the carafe with the lid on the plate of the appliance.

7. Turn on the coffee maker by pressing the "on/off" button. The indication light will light up.

8. When the coffee is finished, you can take off the carafe. If you want to take coffee when the water is still running, the drip stop will prevent coffee dripping on the hot plate.

ATTENTION: the drip stop only functions when the lid is on the carafe.

1. When the coffee is finished, you can take the carafe of the hot plate.
2. Afterwards place the carafe back on the hot plate.
3. As long as your coffee maker is on the coffee will be kept warm.
4. When no longer necessary, turn off the coffee maker.
5. After an hour the coffee maker will switch off automatically.

ATTENTION : let the appliance cool down for 5 min. between every time you make coffee.

PROGRAMMING YOUR APPLIANCE

The timer makes it possible to program your coffee maker, so it will automatically switch on at the desired hour.

SETTING THE TIME

Plug in the unit : on the display appears “00:00”.

To set the hour, press the "H" toets, press the "MIN" button to set the minutes.

PROGRAMMING

1. Fill the unit with water and coffee.
2. Set the time on which you want to unit to start working. Press and hold the "SET" button.
3. When pressing the "set" button, press the "H" button to set the hours and press the "MIN" button to set the minutes.
4. Release the "set" button. The current time will be displayed again.
5. Press the "DELAY" button to set the programming, the blue light will turn on. The programming is now set and will turn on the unit automatically at the set time. You can cancel the programming by pressing the "on/off" button again.

When there are a lot power fluctuation at your home, it is possible you have to set the timer again.

The set program time will be stored in the coffee makers memory, you can select the programmed time again by pressing the "delay" button.

You can check the programmed time at any given time by pressing the "set" knob.

MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING

• Remove the plug from the socket before cleaning.
• The filter holder can be removed for cleaning.
• Clean the outside of the appliance regularly with a damp cloth. Dry thoroughly afterwards.
• Don't use any abrasive cleaners.
• The hot plate needs to be cold before cleaning.
• Never immerse the appliance in water.
• Never use a cloth for cleaning the water tank. Little please of fabric could be left in the water tank. Rinse the water reservoir regularly with cold water.

DESCALING

Descale your coffee maker regularly. At normal use ( 2 full carafes a day) we recommend the following rules :

Water hardness upto 18^:2 to 3 times a year.

Water hardness above 18^:4 to 5 times a year.

The water distribution in your area, can provide you the necessary info concerning your water hardness.

For descending the appliance you should fill the coffee maker with vinegar and let it run through twice. Afterwards, let the coffee maker work twice with clean water, to remove the vinegar taste and all scale residue.

Clean the carafe, the lid and the filter holder.
