What are the usage positions of the massager?

The FMS-290HJ massager can be used as a footrest, foot massager (with or without the hood), or back massager. Simply remove the removable hood to massage the back.

How to activate the heat function?

Press the heat button on the device. Heat can only be activated when the massage is running. Press again to turn it off.

What is the maximum recommended usage time?

Do not use for more than 15 consecutive minutes. The device automatically shuts off after this time. Let it cool for 30 minutes before reuse.

Can the massager be used without socks?

It is highly recommended to wear socks for hygiene and comfort. Do not use with shoes.

How to clean the device?

Unplug the device and let it cool. Clean with a slightly damp soft sponge. Never use abrasive cleaners and do not immerse the device in water.

What to do if the device overheats?

The device is equipped with a protection thermostat that stops the motor. Unplug it and let it cool for 30 minutes before plugging it back in.

Can the massager be used by people with heart conditions or pregnant women?

Consult a doctor before use if pregnant, have a pacemaker, or any health problem. Not recommended for people with diabetes.

How to adjust the massage intensity?

Press the power button once to turn on and get low intensity. Press a second time to switch to high intensity (the button lights green). Press a third time to turn off.

What is the required power voltage?

The device operates with the supplied 120 V AC power adapter. Use only the adapter referenced as PP-FMS290HJADP.

What to do in case of malfunction?

• ALWAYS unplug this appliance from the electrical outlet immediately after using and before cleaning.

• DO NOT operate where aerosol (spray) products are being used or where oxygen is being administered.
• DO NOT operate under blanket or pillow. Excessive heating can occur and cause fire, electric shock, or injury to persons.
• To disconnect, turn all controls to the "OFF" position, then remove plug from outlet.
• Use heated surfaces carefully. May cause serious burns. DO NOT use over

insensitive skin areas or in the presence of poor circulation. The use of heat by children or incapacitated persons may be dangerous.

• DO NOT stand on or in appliance. Use only while seated.
• DO NOT use massager in close proximity to loose clothing or jewelry.
• Keep long hair away from massager while in use.
• DO NOT use any other AC Adapter than what is supplied with the product. Use of any other AC adapter may damage the product and may increase risk of harm to user or property. Only AC Adapter bearing the Part#: PP-FMS290HJADP should be used.

CAUTION: All servicing of this massager must be performed by authorized Homedics service personnel only.

• Extensive use could lead to the product's excessive heating and shorter life. Should this occur, discontinue use and allow the unit to cool before operating.
• NEVER use this product directly on swollen or inflamed areas or skin eruptions.
• DO NOT use this product as a substitute for medical attention.
• This product should NEVER be used by any individual suffering from any physical ailment that would limit the user's capacity to operate the controls or who has sensory deficiencies.
  • Not for use by children.
• This unit should NOT be used by invalids without adult supervision.
• This appliance is intended for household use only.

NOTE: This unit is equipped with a protective thermostat that will shut off the motor if it overheats (LEDs may remain on). If your unit overheats, unplug the unit and let cool for 30 minutes before plugging in again and continuing use.

Insert the adapter jack into the foot massager, then insert the power cord into a 120-volt AC outlet.

The 3-in-1 Shiatsu Massager is versatile and designed for use as a footrest, foot massager, or back massager.

REMOVABLE HOOD

The massager includes a removable hood (Fig. 1) that, when used, will provide a cozy foot massage. The massager may be operated with or without the removable hood. Without the hood, the massager is versatile and designed for use on the upper and lower back. Use the zipper to attach or remove the hood from the massager. Add heat for added comfort and relaxation.

MAINTENANCE

TO CLEAN THE MASSAGER

Unplug the unit and allow it to cool before cleaning. Clean only with a soft, slightly damp sponge. NEVER allow water or any other liquids to come into contact with the unit.

• DO NOT immerse in any liquid to clean.
- NEVER use abrasive cleaners, brushes, or strong chemicals that might or might not be flammable and/or damaging to the product to clean.
- DO NOT attempt to repair the massager. There are no user-serviceable parts. For service, contact the Consumer Relations telephone number listed in the Warranty section.

TO STORE

Place massager in its box or in a safe, cool, dry place. Avoid contact with sharp edges or pointed objects. To avoid breakage, DO NOT wrap the power cord around the unit. DO NOT hang the unit by the controller cord.

SHIATSU MASSAGE

Shiatsu is a deep-kneading circular massage. This unit features a spot shiatsu massage mechanism that works a specific area of your body.

HEAT BUTTON

For soothing heat, when massage is on. To deselect, press the button again. For your safety, heat can only be turned on when massage is activated.

POWER BUTTON

Press the power button to turn on the massager. The shiatsu massage will start in low intensity. To increase the intensity, press the button a second time; it will illuminate green to indicate high intensity. Press the button a third time to turn the unit off.

NOTE: As with all high-quality massage products, there is a 15-minute auto shut-off on the massage mechanism.

Homedics sells its products with the intent that they are free of defects in manufacture and workmanship for a period of 1 year from the date of original purchase, except as noted below. Homedics warrants that its products will be free of defects in material and workmanship under normal use and service. This warranty extends only to consumers and does not extend to Retailers.

To obtain warranty service on your Homedics product, contact a Consumer Relations representative for assistance. Please make sure to have the model number of the product available.

Homedics does not authorize anyone, including, but not limited to, Retailers, the subsequent consumer purchaser of the product from a Retailer or remote purchasers, to obligate Homedics in any way beyond the terms set forth herein. This warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse or abuse; accident; the attachment of any unauthorized accessory; alteration to the product; improper installation; unauthorized repairs or modifications; improper use of electrical/power supply; loss of power; dropped product; malfunction or damage of an operating part from failure to provide manufacturer's recommended maintenance; transportation damage; theft; neglect; vandalism; or environmental conditions; loss of use during the period the product is at a repair facility or otherwise awaiting parts or repair; or any other conditions whatsoever that are beyond the control of Homedics.

This warranty is effective only if the product is purchased and operated in the country in which the product is purchased. A product that requires modifications or adoption to enable it to operate in any other country than the country for which it was designed, manufactured, approved and/or authorized, or repair of products damaged by these modifications is not covered under this warranty.

THE WARRANTY PROVIDED HEREIN SHALL BE THE SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE WARRANTY.
