How to assemble the Vevor SC-W12L fruit press?

First assemble the threaded rod (two pieces), then mount it on the base. Secure the base to a solid surface with screws (not included). Assemble the wooden barrel by inserting the cage slats into the metal ring, with the beveled edge facing upward. Place the juice bag containing the fruit into the barrel. Add the wooden plate, wooden blocks, then the pressing plate assembly (wood and metal). Screw on the nylon washer, the dowel pin, and finally the handle.

What fruits can be pressed with this appliance?

The press is suitable for both hard fruits (apples, pears) and soft fruits (grapes). For hard fruits, it is recommended to crush them beforehand with a crusher or food mill before placing them in the juice bag.

Do I need to crush the fruits before pressing?

Yes, especially for hard fruits like apples and pears. Crushing facilitates juice extraction and avoids straining the press. Use a fruit crusher or shredder for this step.

How to clean the press after use?

Wash all parts thoroughly with a mild detergent, rinse with clear water, and dry completely. Avoid abrasive products. Wooden parts can be wiped with a damp cloth.

How to maintain metal parts to prevent rust?

After cleaning and drying, apply a thin layer of petroleum jelly or food-grade oil to all metal parts. If not used for a long time, renew this protection before storing the press in a dry place.

Can I use an extension on the handle?

No, never extend the handle. This could damage the mechanism. If pressure is insufficient, insert the second set of wooden blocks provided to bring the pressing plates closer to the base, or add more fruit.

Is the press stable during use?

Yes, provided it is fixed on a flat, firm surface. The base feet must be screwed to the floor or a solid support with appropriate screws (not included). This prevents any slipping or tipping.

What to do if the handle reaches the barrel and pressure is insufficient?

Release the dowel pin, remove the plates, and add more fruit or additional wooden blocks (not included) between the pressing plates. Replace everything and continue pressing.

1. Threaded Rod Assembly (8), then mount to the Base (13). NOTE: the rod is with two small pieces, should assemble first.

1. The base of the press should be screwed to a firm, solid floor or base, holes in the feet. (screw not included)

1. Put the Juice Bag (9), containing the chopped fruit, into the wooden barrel and hanging over the sides. Press down the fruit by hand.

Harder fruits - apples, pears, etc., should be cut into small pieces and ideally crushed using a fruit crusher or shredder before placing in the bag.

1. Wooden Barrel Assembly - Assemble Metal Ring (10) and Cage Slat (12), make sure all Cage Slats (12) with bevel edge are in one direction, the opposite end with smooth edge in line in the opposite side.

1. Wooden Pressing Plate (5) and Metal Pressing Plate (4) assembly with Screw (11).

1. Place the Wooden Plate / Semi-Disc (7) on top of the fruit, ensuring they are centered within the barrel, then add the Wooden Blocks (6), (if there is sufficient room) followed by the Pressing Plate Assembly (4&5) on top of these so it crosses lengthwise over the wooden plates.

Put chopped fruits inside the bucket.

1. Place the nylon washer (3) on top of the Pressure Plate Assembly, as shown in the illustration. Screw on the trunnion (2), push the handle into the trunnion,

rotate the handle (1) down to press the fruit into the barrel.

* Attach the legs of the unit to a flat surface and screw before pressing. To prevent the unit from sliding or tilting over. * Do not reach into the press with your hands while the press is turning. * Do not alter the handle by making it longer. * Keep the working area clean. * Clean up any spills immediately to eliminate the risk of slipping/falling.

FRUIT PRESS PROCEDURE

Puree the hard and soft fruit, then put it in a nylon bag, finally, put it in the press by turning the handle.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

After use, the complete press must be thoroughly washed in a mild detergent, rinsed in clean water and dried.

If left unused for prolonged periods, coat all metal components with a thin film of Vaseline or food oil and store in a clean, dry environment.

Check the press's condition before using it again, and if mould is apparent, thoroughly rinse, dry, and apply a film of fresh food oil to its metal components.

Do not dispose of this product with general household waste at the end of its life.

Before use, all components must be scrupulously clean and all traces of old oil removed to avoid the possibility of contamination of the produce.

1. Never use an extension bar on the handle. Instead, when space allows, the second pair of blocks provided may be inserted to force the Wooden Plates near the base of the press as possible. If the handle reaches the wooden block assembly and pressure still needs to be increased, release the trunnion and add more fruit or use wooden blocks between the wooden plates and press in plates. (Additional wooden blocks may be needed and can be made by cutting small blocks of wood or purchased). Finally, place a container beneath the outlet spout in the base (13), ready to collect the juice.

DISASSEMBLY

* Disassemble unit by removing handle from the trunnion. * Unscrew the trunnion from the threaded bar. * Remove all wooden blocks and pressing plates. * Barrel can now be lifted from the base. * Unscrew the feet of the base flipping/falling.

SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS

When using this press, it is necessary to follow these safety precautions. IMPORTANT: Crushing the fruits, mainly grapes and apples, may be required before pressing. Crushing can be done by running the fruit through your fruit crusher, shredder, or food mill.
