The camera's sliding lens cover opens to reveal a powerful (3.4x) zoom lens stored snugly in the body. The simple zoom buttons operation lets you frame the shot any way you want with any focal length between 38mm (wide-angle) and 13 (telephoto).

The high-performance ED lens elements provide exceptional picture quality at any focal length.

Nikon SLR Optical Quality Made Compact

Like Nikon pro-standard SLR interchangeable lenses, the Lite•Touch Zoom 130 ED uses Nikon ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass to minimise chromatic aberration (for clearer colour and contrast), and two aspherical lens elements to minimise distortion.

The results are clear, sharp photographs that are the hallmarks of Nikon optical quality.

Wide-Area Passive Autofocus

The wide focus area makes it easy to focus the image even when the object isn't in the centre of the frame. It enables precise focus with a variety of compositions, such as off-centre subjects.

Programmed Auto Exposure

Programmed Auto Exposure works to provide the quickest, simplest exposure control.

▲ Infinity Focus

The focus can be fixed on infinity to take impressive shots of sweeping landscapes receding to the horizon. This setting ensures clear, sharp pictures of distant scenes.

Intelligent Flash

Four Flash Functions for Clear Pictures Under Any Lighting Conditions

Without Flash

The Lite•Touch Zoom 130 ED determines when the flash is needed and fires it automatically. You can take great pictures in low light or even when the subject is backlit. An intelligent two-segment SPD (Silicon-PhotoDiode) can detect automatically if a scene is backlit, so Auto Flash can fire accordingly. The result: a subtle balance of foreground and background illumination.

Normal Flash

Select this mode when you want to shoot a scene using ambient light only. Flash Cancel is especially handy if you're shooting in a situation where flash use is prohibited, such as in a museum.

Without Flash

Anytime Flash is appropriate for any and all conditions, but proves particularly useful for filling in shadows or brightening foregrounds. Try using flash in daylight to add an extra sparkle and dimension to your photography.

Normal Flash

Used in dim light or at night, Night Portrait (Slow Sync Flash) activates the flash to light up your foreground subject while employing a slow shutter speed that captures the details of your background. Synchronises flash for foreground and slow shutter exposure to bring out the background. Especially wonderful for night and indoor scenes

Normal Flash

Red-Eye Reduction reduces the red-eye effect by emitting a bright light just before the flash fires. This makes eyes appear more normal by causing the pupils to contract as if in daylight.

Automatic Film Operations

Film loading, frame advance and rewind are quiet and unobtrusive. You can even rewind the film in mid-roll.

Viewfinder

Panorama mode multiplies shooting versatility, allowing you to expand your perspective on your subjects, from landscape vistas to group portraits, at any focal range. Simply turn a switch to change freely between panorama and normal frame, even in the middle of the film roll.

Date imprinting offers a choice of five combinations of date and time for you to remember exactly when you shot that particular picture.
