Intended Use
The appliance must only be used for making coffee from roasted ground or whole coffee beans.
The appliance may only be used as described in these instructions.
Warning, risk of injury! Incorrect use or misuse of the appliance can lead to injuries.
The appliance is intended for household use and similar applications, including:
- in kitchens for employees in shops, offices and similar working environments
- in agricultural working environments, by customers, in hotels, motels and other typical residential environments
- in bed and breakfasts
Misuse
Do not operate the appliance in a closed cabinet.
Do not use green coffee or caramelised coffee beans.
Do not fill with hot or warm water. Only use fresh, cold tap water.
The grind level should only be adjusted while the appliance is grinding coffee beans to prevent damage to the grinder.
Do not move the appliance while it is in operation.
Requirements for installation and operation
Place the appliance on a level, waterproof and heat-resistant surface.
Place the appliance in a free space and not under wall cabinets or directly against a wall or in a corner.
Before the appliance is used, check the appliance and its accessories for defects that could impair its functional safety. Do not operate the appliance if it shows signs of damage.
Requirements for the target group
In the event that this appliance is to be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or with lack of experience or knowledge, the user must be supervised or instructed regarding the safe use of the appliance and must have an understanding of the consequent potential risks of danger.
The appliance must not be used by children. Keep the appliance and its power cord inaccessible to children.
Children must not play with this appliance.
Keep packaging material away from children to avoid the risk of suffocation.
Residual risks
Risk of injury from burning and scalding
The exterior surfaces, glass jug, and hotplate become hot during use and will remain so for some time afterwards. This poses a risk of burning or scalding.
Avoid touching these parts during and immediately after using the appliance until it has cooled down sufficiently.
Let the appliance cool down before pouring in fresh water. When filling the appliance with fresh water shortly after a brewing cycle is complete, there is a risk of scalding from hot water or steam escaping through the vents on the top of the appliance.
Risk from poor hygiene
Poor hygiene when cleaning and using the appliance can cause damage to health after consuming the beverages.
Rinse the appliance thoroughly after prolonged storage.
Rinse the water container, filter insert, filter ring, gold-tone filter and glass jug regularly in clean water.
Do not immerse the thermal jug, but rinse it with hot water and a little detergent.
Risk of injury due to electric shock
As the appliance is powered by electricity, there is a risk of electric shock.
Keep the power cord away from hot parts of the appliance.
Never touch the mains plug with wet hands.
Check the power cord and appliance before use. Never use the appliance when its power cord is damaged. Replace a damaged power cord immediately.
Make sure that the supply voltage corresponds with the voltage marked on the appliance's rating label.
Never immerse the appliance in water or other liquids or clean it under running water.
Pull out the power plug:
• each time before assembling or dismantling the appliance
- when the appliance will be out of use for a long time
• in case of any malfunction
- during cleaning
Risk of injury due to damage to the appliance
The appliance, if damaged, can no longer be used safely.
The appliance must not be used if it has been dropped, is faulty, has a damaged power cord or plug or shows any other signs of damage.
Unplug the appliance immediately if you notice any faults, damage or unusual behaviour (e.g. smell of burning).
Any repairs to the appliance or its power cord must only be carried out by our customer service.
Damage to the appliance due to improper cleaning and descaling
The appliance must be descaled depending on the water hardness and frequency of use to ensure its proper functioning. Any warranty claim will be null and void if the appliance malfunctions due to insufficient descaling.

Damage to the appliance due to programmed preparation
When coffee preparation is programmed, the appliance prepares coffee once at the set time.
Before preparing coffee, make sure the appliance is assembled correctly.
