IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

⚠️ READ AND SAVE THESE SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING THIS AIR PURIFIER

When using electrical appliances, basic precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and injury to persons, including the following:

1. Read all instructions before operating the air purifier.
2. Place air purifier where it is not easily knocked over by persons in the household.
3. Always turn the air purifier controls to the OFF position and unplug from the wall outlet when not in use.
4. To disconnect the air purifier, turn the control knob to the OFF position, grip the plug and pull it from the wall outlet. Never pull by the cord.
5. Do not use any product with a damaged cord or plug or if product malfunctions, is dropped or damaged in any manner. Keep the cord away from heated surfaces.
6. Do not use air purifier outdoors.
7. Never use air purifier unless it is fully assembled.
8. Do not run power cord under carpets, and do not cover with throw rugs. Arrange cord such that it will not be tripped over.
9. Do not use air cleaner where combustible gases or vapors are present.

10. Do not expose the air purifier to rain, or use near water, in a bathroom, laundry area or other damp location.

11. The air purifier must be used in its upright position.

12. Do not allow foreign objects to enter ventilation or exhaust opening as this may cause electric shock or damage to the air purifier. Do not block air outlets or intakes.
13. Locate air purifier near the outlet and avoid using an extension cord.
14. This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of shock, this plug is intended to fit only one way in a polarized outlet. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. DO NOT attempt to defeat this safety feature.
15. A loose fit between the AC outlet (receptacle) and plug may cause overheating and a distortion of the plug. Contact a qualified electrician to replace loose or worn outlet.
16. Do not sit, stand or place heavy objects on the air purifier.
17. Disconnect power supply before servicing.

CAUTION: EYE IRRITANT.

Avoid contact with eyes. Do not touch the scent pad located within the cartridge. Contains fragrance oils.

AND PETS. FIRST AID TREATMENT: If eye contact occurs, flush with water immediately. If eye irritation persists, consult a doctor.

IF SWALLOWED:

Do not induce vomiting, call a physician or poison control center immediately.

Do not place in microwave.

Do not touch exposed scent pad with skin. In case of contact with skin, wash area immediately with plenty of water.

Do not place opened scent cartridge on furniture, fabrics, bedding or plastics.

For scent only, refill cartridge should not be taken internally.

HOW YOUR FEBREZE™ AIR PURIFIER WORKS

Unique 4-Stage System to help Clean & Freshen the Air

① Dirty, stale, odor-filled air is drawn into the air purifier by a strong fan.
② The Dual Action Filter has a specially formulated carbon pre-filter that traps household odors and larger airborne particles, such as pet hair, lint and dust. ^1
3 As the air moves through the HEPA-Type filter, up to 99% of the microscopic particles, 2 micro ns and larger, are captured.
4 Fresh Febreze™ scent is added to the filtered air before it is released back into the room.

1 From the air that passes through the filter, 2 microns and larger. Overall particle reduction depends on many factors including the amount of air processed, the pollutant type, and the pollutant's introduction rate into the environment.

SET-UP

• Select a firm, level and flat location. For best airflow, locate the unit 3 feet (1 M) from any wall or furniture.
• When operating, large volumes of air are drawn toward the air purifier. Surrounding areas should be cleaned and/or vacuumed frequently to prevent build-up of dust and other contaminates. This may also help prolong the life of the filter. If the unit is placed on a light colored carpet, a small mat or rug should be used underneath to prevent permanent staining. This is especially important in homes with contamination from smoking or fireplaces.

ENERGY STAR®

This product earned the ENERGY STAR ^® by meeting strict energy efficiency guidelines set by the US EPA. US EPA does not endorse any manufacturer claims of healthier indoor air from the use of this product.

The energy efficiency of this ENERGY STAR qualified model is measured based on a ratio between the model's Clean Air Delivery Rate (CADR) for Dust and the electrical energy it consumes, or CADR/Watt.

INSTALLING FEBREZE™ HEPA-TYPE FILTERS

The Dual Action Febreze™ HEPA-Type Filter(s) with built-in pre-filter are supplied within the air purifier. They are wrapped to ensure purity.

• Turn off and unplug the air purifier. Press the top latch downward to release the rear grill, pull the grille towards you and remove it. Gently push along the edge of the filter frame and pull forward. If replacing used filter(s), you may pull the ribbon tabs to remove the filter(s). If required, repeat for the second filter.
• Remove protective wrap from the filter(s).
• Place back into the air purifier housing with black side facing out towards the rear grille and snap rear grille into place.

NOTE: The Febreze™ HEPA-Type filters are not washable. Do not immerse in water.

INSTALLING THE FEBREZE™ SCENT CARTRIDGE

One Febreze™ air purifier scent cartridge is supplied with your new air purifier. It is packed in the same plastic bag as this Instruction Manual. It is sealed for freshness.

• Turn off and unplug the air purifier. Open the door on the Scent Cartridge Compartment on the control panel.
• Peel the foil layer off the cartridge by pulling on the tab. Once removed, immediately dispose of the foil layer. A thin, clear film with perforations will remain attached to the cartridge. DO NOT REMOVE.

• Insert scent cartridge completely into the scent compartment. IT WILL ONLY FIT IN THE AIR PURIFIER ONE WAY.
• Close the Scent Compartment door
• Set the scent control dial to adjust scent intensity for personal preference

When the foil seal is removed or partially removed, from the scent cartridge, the fragrance oils will be exposed to the air and will start to evaporate. Once the foil layer has been removed, you must use the scent cartridge in the air purifier or dispose of it. It cannot be re-sealed and saved for re-use later.

NOTE: The air purifier will also function without using a scent cartridge.

OPERATION

• Once the filter(s) and scent cartridge are installed, plug the air purifier into a working electrical outlet.
• Make sure you have selected the desired scent intensity.
• Turn the Control Dial to the desired cleaning level III = High, II = Medium, I = Low. A green LED will illuminate to indicate that the unit is powered "ON". The unit will start up at the High speed.

Portable air purifiers are more effective in rooms where all doors and windows are closed. In general, it is recommended that you run your air purifier while you are at home to clean the air.

ELECTRONIC FILTER AND SCENT CHECK REMINDERS

This Febreze™ Air Purifier has electronic filter and scent check reminders. There is a FILTER RESET button and a SCENT RESET button on the control panel with a red LED light next to each. Based on hours of use, the red LED will illuminate when it is time to replace the filter(s) and/or the scent cartridge. It is recommended that the air filters be replaced every 4 months and the scent cartridge will last up to one month. When the recommended time period has elapsed the red light will come on as a reminder to replace the filter(s) or the scent cartridge. The red LED(s) will remain on until the Fit may unplug the air purifier without interrupting the

You should periodically check the filter(s). Depending on operating conditions, the filter(s) may need to be replaced more or less frequently. One scent cartridge will last up to 30 days, depending on desired scent intensity and operating speed. You may replace the scent cartridge more or less frequently than the recommended 30 days.

To RESET the Electronic Filter or Scent Check

When the filter or scent check lights remain on, it is time to replace the filter(s) or scent cartridge and RESET the filter or scent monitor. Old filter(s) or scent cartridge should be removed and new ones installed.

Reset the Filter monitor.

• Install a new Febreze™ Air Filter(s)
- With the unit powered on, press the FILTER RESET button next to the red LED and hold for approximately 2 seconds until the light turns off.

Reset the Scent monitor.

• Remove old scent cartridge and dispose of properly
• Install a new Febreze™ Air Purifier Scent Cartridge
• With the unit powered on, press the SCENT RESET button next to the red LED and hold for approximately 2 seconds until the light turns off.

Early Reset Option

Depending on your individual usage (environment and hours used), you may wish to replace filter(s) or scent cartridge BEFORE the red indicator light turns on. If this is the case, you will need to do an early RESET. To do this, press the Filter Reset or Scent Reset button and hold for approximately 5 seconds to illuminate the red LED, then press the Filter Reset or Scent Reset button again and hold for approximately 2 seconds until red LED light turns off. This will cause the usage cycle time to restart again for 4 months for the filter(s) and 1 month for the scent cartridge.

REPLACING THEFEBREZE™ FILTER AND SCENT CARTRIDGE

Replacing the Febreze™ Filter

The 99% efficient Febreze ^™ HEPA-Type filter has a built-in odor absorbing pre-filter. This Dual Action Ⓤ replacement filter is not cleanable, and should be replaced every 4 months to ensure optimal performance.

The replacement interval is intended as a guideline only. Useful life expectancy of any filter media is dependent upon the concentration of contaminates going through the system. High concentrations of contaminants such as dust, pet dander and smoke will reduce the useful life of the filter.

Replacing the Febreze™ Scent Cartridge

The Febreze™ Air Purifier Scent Refill Cartridge is designed specifically for your Febreze™ Air Purifier and is the ONLY Scent that will work in your unit. When you wish to replace your scent, you may use any Febreze™ Air Purifier Scent Refill. Please note that there may be some residual scent initially if you change to a different scent from the one that was most recently in the unit.

CLEANING AND STORAGE

We recommend that you clean the air purifier at least once every 3 months and before extended storage. Use only a dry cloth to wipe the external surfaces of the air purifier. DO NOT USE WATER, WAX POLISH, OR ANY CHEMICAL SOLUTION.

It is recommended that you do not store your air purifier with the scent cartridge installed as it will lose fragrance potency over time.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Will the air purifier still work without the scent cartridge?

Yes, the scent cartridge is optional and the unit will function normally as an air purifier without it.

How long does a scent cartridge last?

A single scent cartridge can last up to 30 days, depending on use and the level of scent intensity chosen.

How does the electronic scent check work?

The scent check LED will illuminate after 30 days of use. Replace the scent cartridge at that time and reset the scent monitor. Or, change the scent cartridge more frequently based on individual preference and do the Early Reset as described on Page 7.

How does the electronic filter check work?

The red filter check LED will illuminate when it is time to replace the filter after 4 months of operation of the air purifier. Change the filter and reset the filter monitor.

Can I wash my Febreze™ HEPA-Type filter?

No. Washing the Febreze ^™ HEPA-Type filter will destroy it.

My air purifier is making noise and the air output is less. What's wrong?

The Febreze™ HEPA-type filter in your air purifier was shipped with a plastic bag over it to ensure purity. Make sure the plastic bag has been removed before use.

If you've been using the air purifier, the filter(s) may be dirty. High amounts of contaminants can block the pores in the filter and stop the air from moving through it. Replace the filter(s) with the Febreze™ Dual Action replacement filter ⬆.

How long should I run my air purifier?

In general, it is recommended that you run your air purifier when you are at home to clean the air. The unit may be run 24/7 if preferred. This unit will be more effective when windows and doors are closed.
