PRODUCT SAFETY

IMPORTANT NOTES ON CORRECT USE

1. This appliance is intended exclusively for heating and/or frothing milk

for domestic use.

1. Use only milk; other liquids may compromise the operation of the appliance or cause overflow.
2. This appliance is intended for domestic use and similar applications, such as:

*kitchen areas of shop staff, offices and other working environments;

*agrotourism

*customers of hotels, guesthouses and other residential environments;

*rooms like bed and breakfast.

1. This product is not a toy.
2. Do not leave parts of the packaging (plastic bags, polystyrene foam, etc.) within reach of children or dependant persons, as these objects are potential sources of danger (e.g.: risk of suffocation).
3. Use the product for the sole purpose for which it was designed. The manufacturer is not liable for damage or injury caused by improper use.
4. Unauthorised repairs or modifications will invalidate the warranty.
5. Do not use outdoors.
6. Never leave the turned on appliance unattended.
7. Do not place on or near a gas or electric stove, or in a hot oven.
8. Before use, place the appliance on a solid, flat and horizontal surface.
9. To turn off the appliance manually, press the shutdown button.
10. Never put the appliance or the base in the dishwasher.
11. Use only original or manufacturer-recommended spare parts and accessories.

PRODUCT

1. Before connecting the appliance to the power supply, check that the voltage indicated on the appliance corresponds to the voltage available in your home. Connect the appliance to a power outlet equipped with efficient grounding. The manufacturer cannot be held responsible for any accidents caused by the lack of grounding of the system.
2. The appliance may be used by children of at least 8 years of age and by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental abilities, or without experience or knowledge, provided that they are supervised or have received instructions on the safe use of the appliance and the

understanding of the hazards inherent thereto. Children should not play with the appliance. Cleaning and maintenance intended to be carried out by the user shall not be carried out by children without supervision.

1. Supervise the children so that they do not play with the appliance.
2. During operation, be careful of any splashes of hot milk. Pour the hot milk slowly and be careful not to move the milk frother too quickly to avoid the risk of splashing.
3. Do not use the appliance empty, without milk inside, to avoid damaging the heating elements and causing the appliance to overheat.
4. Do not fill the appliance beyond the maximum limit or below the minimum limit indicated. If the appliance is too full, boiling liquid may spill out.
5. The provided base cannot be used for uses other than those intended.
6. Since the milk mixing or frothing accessory is small in size, it is recommended to store it in a safe place to prevent accidental ingestion by children or loss.
7. To avoid injury, do not touch rotating parts during use.
8. Unplug the appliance when not in use, while filling it or while on the move.
9. Let the appliance cool before cleaning.
10. Use the milk frother exclusively with the lid closed and the base correctly positioned.
11. The milk frother can only be used with the provided base.
12. Incorrect use of the product can cause damage or injury.
13. In order to avoid electric shocks, do not immerse the body of the product in water or other liquids.
14. The surface of the heating element is subject to residual heat after use. Do not touch until the appliance is fully cooled.
15. This product does not contain repairable parts. Don't try to fix it yourself. Have maintenance performed by a qualified service centre using only identical spare parts. This will ensure that the safety of the product is maintained.
16. Do not use the appliance at high temperatures, in very humid or wet environments or in the vicinity of flammable material.
17. Do not use if the appliance has fallen or has been damaged in any way. Do not attempt repairs yourself. Contact your dealer for repair/replacement, if under warranty, or customer support.

CABLE AND PLUG

1. The power cord must be connected to an AC electrical outlet (standard household current). Do not use other electrical outlets.

2. In case of incompatibility between the socket and the plug of the appliance, have the socket replaced by another suitable type by qualified personnel. The use of adapters, multiple sockets, and/or extensions is not recommended. Should their use be necessary, use only simple or multiple adapters and extensions complying with the current safety standards, taking care not to exceed the power limit marked on the adapter and/or extension.

3. Do not use the power cord if damaged.

4. Use only the power cord supplied in the package.

5. In order to avoid electric shock, do not immerse the power cord in water or other liquids.

6. The power cord should be used in a dry and clean place. Use in wet or dirty environments may lead to risks of fire, electric shock or electrocution.

7. Do not touch the cable or power plug with wet hands.

8. Do not let the cable dangle or fall down from a countertop.

9. Be careful not to pull or trip over the power cord. Keep the cable away from sources of heat, hot objects or open flames.

10. Disconnect the cable from the power outlet before cleaning and when the appliance is not in use. To disconnect, turn off the appliance, then remove the plug from the wall outlet. Don't pull the cable but grab the plug.

11. Always connect the plug to the appliance first, then connect the cable to the wall outlet. Make sure the cable is fully extended.

12. The cable should not be twisted or wrapped around the appliance.

13. Do not use the appliance if the power cord is damaged. Do not attempt repairs yourself. Contact your dealer for repair/replacement, if under warranty, or customer support.

14. Do not use extension cables or timer devices.

DANGER OF SCALDING!

1. Do not touch the hot parts of the appliance to avoid burns (Fig. 1). Use the handle or the appropriate buttons.

15. Remove the different components from the packaging, check that they are complete and intact, carefully remove any protections and labels. The package contains:

1. Make sure that all parts are assembled correctly and in place before use.

2. If you are using the milk frother for the first time, it is recommended to wash it following the instructions in the "CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE" section.

OPERATION AND ACCESSORIES

1. Power button

A) Place the milk frother on a flat and stable surface.
B) Place the jug on the power base.
C) The power button (10) is used to select the function of the milk frother.
D) Press the power button (10) until the LED corresponding to the desired function lights up.
If the button is not pressed for about three seconds, the flashing LED becomes steady, and the milk frother starts the selected function.
E) Once the program for the selected operating mode is complete, the milk frother will automatically turn off.
F) The duration of the program depends on the selected function and the amount of liquid used.

2. Accessories

Insert the appropriate accessory for the desired function inside the milk frother, fixing it on the designated pin.

3. Operating modes

Select the operating mode that best suits your needs. The whisk starts moving after about three seconds.

4. MIN and MAX indicators

There are three markings on the inside of the container:1. MIN: Indicates the minimum filling capacity.
2. Lower MAX: Indicates maximum filling capacity when using whisk 5.
3. Upper MAX: Indicates the maximum filling capacity when using whisk 4.

DANGER! Do not fill the milk frother beyond the maximum level, as milk may overflow from the lid and cause burns or injuries. Make sure that the lid is securely locked before connecting the appliance to the power supply.

USAGE TIPS

The quality of the foam depends on the milk you use and the result can vary greatly.

• It is recommended to use cow's milk. Other types of milk behave differently during the foaming process. This may cause milk to leak from the milk frother.
• It is preferable to use milk with a fat content > 3.5%. Low-fat milk and skimmed milk do not foam well.
  • The milk must be fresh.
• Do not try steaming milk a second time if the first result is not satisfactory, the milk may burn.
• If the milk foam is too liquid, it is advisable to let it rest for about 30 seconds. During this time, the liquid milk can settle, and the milk frother achieves a better consistency.
• After use, let the appliance rest for 2 minutes before performing any other operation to allow adequate cooling of the electrical and electronic components, thus avoiding overheating problems.
• To pour the foam, use suitable wooden or plastic tools to avoid scratching the non-stick walls of the jug.
• Cleaning the appliance will be easier if done immediately after use.

5. Preparation of hot milk foam

- Insert whisk 5 until it stops on the motor shaft inside the jug.

• Remove the jug from the base and pour the milk up to the MIN level. The volume of milk increases during the foaming process. Do not pour the milk beyond the MAX level to prevent milk foam from overflowing from the jug.
• Place the lid on the container.
• Place the jug on the base.
• Select the desired function 8, 13 or 14 (see paragraph "3. Usage functions").
  The LED flashes, the accessory (5) starts rotating after about three seconds, initiating the milk frothing process.
• Once the milk is ready, the milk frother automatically turns off, and the LED flashes for a few seconds.
• You can interrupt the preparation process at any time by briefly pressing the power on/off button (10).
• Wait for about 30 seconds for any remaining liquid milk residues to settle at the bottom of the jug.
• Lift the jug from the base, remove the lid, and use the milk foam as desired.
• Wait two or three minutes before using the milk frother again.

DANGER!

• Pour the hot milk slowly and be careful not to move the milk frother too quickly to avoid the risk of splashing.
• Always disconnect the power when the appliance is not in use.

6. Preparation of cold milk foam

• Insert whisk 5 until it stops on the motor shaft inside the jug.
• Remove the jug from the base and pour the milk up to the MIN level. The volume of milk increases during the foaming process. Do not pour the milk beyond the MAX level to prevent milk foam from overflowing from the jug.
• Place the lid on the container.
• Place the jug on the base.
• Select function 9 (see paragraph "3. Usage functions").
  The LED flashes and the accessory (5) starts to spin after about three seconds, which starts the milk frothing process.
• For best results, the milk frother will automatically pause several times during the process, without any action, and will restart automatically after the pause.
• Once the milk is ready, the milk frother automatically turns off, and the LED flashes for a few seconds.
• You can interrupt the preparation process at any time by briefly pressing the power on/off button (10).
• Wait for about 30 seconds for any remaining liquid milk residues to settle at the bottom of the container.
• Lift the jug from the base, remove the lid, and use the milk foam as desired.

DANGER!

Always disconnect the power when the appliance is not in use.

7. Evenly heating the milk

• Insert whisk 4 until it stops on the motor shaft inside the jug.
• Remove the jug from the base and pour the milk up to the MIN level. Do not pour milk above the MAX level to prevent hot milk from spilling out of the jug.
• Place the lid on the container.
• Place the container on the base.
• Select the desired function 8 (see paragraph "3. Usage functions").
• The LED flashes, the accessory (4) starts rotating after about three seconds, initiating the milk heating process.

• Once the milk is hot, the milk frother turns off automatically, and the LED flashes for a few seconds.

• You can interrupt the preparation process at any time by briefly pressing the power on/off button (10).

• Wait for about 30 seconds for any remaining liquid milk residues to settle at the bottom of the jug.
• Lift the jug from the base, remove the lid, and use the milk foam as desired.
• Wait two or three minutes before using the milk frother again.

8. Preparation of hot chocolate

• Insert whisk 5 until it stops on the motor shaft inside the jug.
• Insert the chocolate accessory 12.
• Remove the jug from the base and pour in 200 ml of milk. The volume of milk increases during the foaming process. Do not pour the milk beyond the MAX level (300ml) to prevent milk foam from overflowing from the jug.
• Add 60g of chocolate pieces, or 50g of powdered chocolate drink mix (the doses are indicative, and can be increased or decreased according to personal tastes, the important thing is not to exceed the MAX and MIN levels indicated inside the jug).
• Place the lid on the container.
• Place the jug on the base.
• Select the desired function 13 (see paragraph "3. Usage functions").
  The LED flashes, the accessory (5) starts rotating after about three seconds, initiating the milk frothing process.
• Once the milk is ready, the milk frother automatically turns off, and the LED flashes for a few seconds.
• You can interrupt the preparation process at any time by briefly pressing the power on/off button (10).
• Wait for about 30 seconds for any remaining liquid residues to settle at the bottom of the jug.
• Lift the jug from the base, remove the lid, and use the hot chocolate as desired.
• Wait two or three minutes before using the milk frother again.

DANGER!

• Pour the chocolate slowly and be careful not to move the milk frother too quickly to avoid the risk of splashes.
• Always disconnect the power when the appliance is not in use.

9. Ideas for using milk foam

Cappuccino

• Freshly brewed coffee
• Hot milk
• Milk foam

Pour the same amount of freshly brewed black coffee and hot milk into a large cup, leaving about a centimeter from the rim of the cup. Pour the freshly made milk foam.

Latte Macchiato

• 150 ml of milk for milk foam
• 1 serving of espresso (25-30 ml)

Use the milk to prepare fresh milk foam and pour the foam into a latte macchiato glass, filling it three-quarters full.

Then slowly and carefully pour the espresso into the milk foam.

For those who prefer stronger coffee, an extra serving of espresso can be added at this stage.

Ideally, the espresso should now be in the center.

The liquid milk is at the bottom, and the top of the drink is crowned with a thick layer of foam. If there is any milk foam left in the glass and space, it can be carefully added to the rest of the milk foam.

PROTECTION AGAINST OVERHEATING AND "EMPTY" BOILING

If the milk frother is mistakenly left running dry and overheats, the safety protection activates automatically, emitting an audible signal followed by the appliance shutting off. In this case, allow the milk frother to cool down before using it again (approximately 15 minutes).

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Before proceeding with the cleaning, always disconnect the milk frother from the power outlet and let it cool completely.

Cleaning the appliance will be easier if done immediately after use.

1. Remove milk residues

Insert the accessory for hot foam. Fill the jug with water up to the MAX level indicated inside the jug and close with the lid.

Press the power button, and the appliance starts working, heating and mixing the water to remove milk residues from the jug.

Alternatively:

• Remove the used whisk.
• Clean the inside of the jug with lukewarm water and dish soap. Use a sponge or soft cloth. Make sure to remove milk residues inside and around the whisk transmission shaft. Then, rinse the jug with plenty of clean water.
• Remove the gasket from the lid and clean both parts with mild rinsing water. Rinse with clean water, dry both parts thoroughly, and place the lid gasket back on the lid.
• Clean Whisks 4, 5, and 12 in mild rinsing water and rinse with clean water.
• Then rinse the jug with plenty of clean water and rinse the lid under running water.

2. Cleaning the outside of the jug

Clean the outside of the jug with a soft cloth or a slightly damp sponge and dry with a cloth.

DANGER! Do not put the jug or the base in dishwasher or soak liquids.

After cleaning and before reusing the appliance, make sure that the contact area on the bottom side of the container is completely dry and free from detergent residue. Otherwise, placing the container on the base could cause a short circuit, resulting in a defective milk frother.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Do not use chemical detergents, steel wool, or abrasive detergents for cleaning.

3. Storing

Allow the appliance to cool completely before storing it or wrapping the supply cable around it.

When not in use, the power cord can be wound into the designated housing located under the appliance.

Make sure all parts are clean and dry before storing them.

Never store the appliance when it is still wet.

It is recommended to store the appliance in a dry place, clean and away from moisture and dust.

INFORMATION ON DISPOSAL

PRODUCT

Pursuant to art. 26 of Legislative Decree No. 49 of 14 March 2014 “Implementation of Directive 2012/19/EU on waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE)”, the presence of the wheeled bin symbol indicates that this product is not to be considered urban waste: Non-separate disposal can be a potential harm to the environment and health. This product may be returned to the distributor upon purchase of a new appliance.

Improper disposal of the product constitutes fraudulent conduct and is subject to sanctions by the Public

Safety Authority. For more information, please contact the local environmental authority.

PACKAGING

For information on how to properly dispose of the packaging that protects this product and its parts and/or accessories, follow the instructions in the packaging.

"TOGNANA" SMALL APPLIANCES WARRANTY

The Company Tognana Porcellane S.p.A. thanks its Customers for their choice and guarantees that its appliances are the result of the latest technologies and research.

This warranty applies only to small appliances marked with the "Tognana" brand and is valid as a conventional

warranty pursuant to Article 135-quinquies of the Italian Consumer Code (Legislative Decree 206 of 6 September 2005). This warranty does not in any way affect the rights expressly provided for in favour of the consumer by the regulations on the sale of consumer movable goods, whether Italian or of the consumer's country of residence: the consumer can therefore always assert his rights against the retailer from which he purchased the appliance, under the conditions and within the terms provided for by these regulations. Under this warranty, the appliance is covered by the conventional warranty for a period of two years from the date of purchase by the first user.

It is up to the consumer - through a delivery document issued by the retailer (or by Tognana Porcellane S.p.A. itself, in the case of a purchase made by the consumer directly in the online shop of the latter) or by another evidentiary document (for example, tax receipt, cash receipt or similar, purchase order, etc.), which shows the name of the retailer and the date on which the sale was made - to demonstrate that this warranty is still valid at the time of filing the complaint of defect of the appliance.

In the event of a defect in the appliance, pursuant to this warranty, the consumer may highlight this defect by contacting the appliance dealer or by contacting Tognana Porcellane S.p.A. directly at the e-mail [e-mail], or at the telephone number [phone].

Tognana Porcellane S.p.A. guarantees the free repair or replacement of the appliance and/or its components that have defects due to ascertained causes of manufacture and/or malfunctions, directly or through affiliated service centres (check any contacts on the Tognana Porcellane S.p.A. website:

www.tognana.com). Tognana Porcellane S.p.A. reserves the right to completely replace the appliance, if repairability is impossible or too expensive, with another identical or similar appliance (or one that has functional and aesthetic characteristics similar to those of the purchased appliance), without the consumer being able, in this second hypothesis, to contest the choice made by Tognana Porcellane S.p.A.

The consumer, in the presentation of the complaint, in addition to specifying the defect found, also providing photographic documentation, if indispensable for the purpose of ascertaining the defect of the appliance, must communicate their personal data - name and surname, residence address, email and telephone number - for each subsequent contact. For the successful replacement or repair of the appliance, the consumer will in any case be required to follow the instructions provided in this regard by the employees of Tognana Porcellane S.p.A. or the service centre in charge.

All costs of repair and delivery of the replacement appliance or defect-free components will be entirely borne by Tognana Porcellane S.p.A., which will also bear the costs of returning the defective appliance or component, if expressly requested by the consumer.

It should be noted that, following the replacement or repair of the appliance, the effective date of this warranty remains that of the first purchase: therefore, the service performed under the warranty does not extend the period of its validity.

For the purposes of the effectiveness of this warranty, it is specified that: the appliance has been designed and built for exclusively domestic use, consequently terminating this warranty for any other different use. In addition, the appliance can never be considered defective if it has to be adapted or modified to comply with national or local safety and/or technical standards, in force in the consumer's country, if outside the European Union.

In any case, this warranty does not cover:

• parts subject to wear and tear, nor those that require periodic replacement and/or maintenance;
• negligence or carelessness in the use of the appliance (e.g. failure to comply with the operating instructions of the appliance);
• professional use of the appliance;
• defects due to incorrect installation, configuration, updating of software/BIOS/firmware not performed by authorized personnel Tognana Porcellane S.p.A;
• repairs or interventions carried out by personnel not authorised by Tognana Porcellane S.p.A.;
• manipulations of components of the appliance or, where applicable, of the software;
• other circumstances that, in any case, cannot be traced back to manufacturing defects in the appliance.
  Tognana Porcellane S.p.A. declines all responsibility for any damage that may, directly or indirectly, result to people, property and pets as a result of failure to comply with all the requirements indicated in the specific instruction booklet and concerning especially the warnings regarding installation, use and maintenance of the device.

Further claims, in particular if they relate to claims, are excluded, unless the liability arises from express provision of law. At the end of the period of validity of this warranty, or for goods that are not covered by it, Tognana Porcellane S.p.A. remains available to the customer for any questions or information.
