Frequently Asked Questions - WX183.1 WORX

Why does the tool not work when I press the trigger?
The direction switch above the trigger is likely in the locked center position. Slide it left or right, then press the trigger (see Fig. C1, C2, C3).
Why does the drill stop before the screw is fully tightened?
Check the position of the torque ring between the chuck and the body. Position 1 is the lowest torque, position 18 the highest. Use a higher position for full tightening. The drilling position (drill symbol) is for drilling.
Why can't I insert the battery into the charger?
The battery can only be inserted one way. Rotate it until it slides in freely. The red light should then turn on, indicating charging is in progress.
What are the reasons for differences in battery runtime?
Issues with charging time and prolonged storage can reduce runtime. This can be corrected after several charging and discharging cycles. Severe working conditions, such as driving large screws into hardwood, will discharge the battery faster. Do not recharge the battery below 0°C or above 30°C.
How to adjust the tool speed?
Use the two-speed selector (Fig. D) to choose between low speed (0-500 rpm) for screwdriving and high speed (0-1700 rpm) for drilling.
How to use the hammer function?
Set the torque ring to the hammer drilling position (hammer symbol). Use this function to drill into brick, concrete, and natural stone.
How to change the direction of rotation?
Use the direction switch above the trigger. Push it left for forward rotation, right for reverse rotation, and center to lock the trigger. Never change direction while the chuck is rotating.
How to maintain the tool?
Remove the battery before any maintenance. Clean with a dry cloth. Keep ventilation slots clean. Do not use water or chemicals. No special lubrication is required.
What to do if the LED indicator flashes quickly?
This indicates overheat or overload protection. Release the trigger and let the tool and battery cool down. If the problem persists, remove and recharge the battery.
Is the tool compatible with other Worx batteries?
Use only batteries and chargers specified by Worx for this model (20V Max lithium-ion battery). Do not use other batteries, as this could cause fire or damage to the tool.

LED LIGHT INDICATOR (See Fig. G)

Before operation, the LED light will be activated when the On/Off switch is slightly depressed.

The tool and battery are equipped with a protection system. When the LED Light is quickly flashing 60 seconds and turns off, the system will automatically cut off power to the tool to extend battery life. The tool will automatically stop during operation if the tool and/or battery are placed under one of the following conditions:

• Overloaded: The tool is operated in a manner that causes it to draw an abnormally high current. In this situation, release the Trigger Switch on the tool and stop the application that caused the tool to become overloaded. Then pull the Trigger Switch again to restart.
• Overheated: Under the condition above, if the tool does not start, the tool and battery are overheated. In this situation, let the tool and battery cool before pulling the Trigger Switch again.
- Low battery voltage: The remaining Battery capacity is too low and the tool will not operate. In this situation, remove and recharge the Battery.

WORX WX183.1 - LED LIGHT INDICATOR (See Fig. G) - 1

WARNING: To turn on the light, press the On/Off switch and make sure the Forward/Reverse

Rotation Control is on right/left position.

PROBLEM SOLUTION

1. WHY DOES THE DRILL NOT TURN ON WHEN YOU PRESS THE SWITCH?

The Forward and Reverse Switch, which is on top of the trigger, is positioned in the lock function. Unlock the Forward and Reverse Switch putting it into the required rotation position. Push the trigger and the drill will start to rotate (See Fig.C1, C2, C3).

2. THE DRILL STOPS BEFORE THE SCREW IS COMPLETELY TIGHTENED. WHY?

Verify the torque position of the Torque Adjustment Ring, you can find the Torque Adjustment Ring between the chuck and the tool body. Position 1 is the lowest torque (screw driving force) and position 18 is the highest torque (screw driving force). Position is for drill operation.

3. I CAN NOT FIT THE BATTERY INTO THE BATTERY CHARGER. WHY?

The battery can be inserted into the charger only in one direction. Turn the battery around until it can be inserted into the slot, the red LED Light should turn on when the battery is charging.

4. REASONS FOR DIFFERENT BATTERY PACK WORKING TIMES

Charging time problems, as above, and having not used a Battery Pack for a prolonged time will reduce the Battery Pack working time. This can be corrected after several charge and discharge operations by charging & working with your drill. Heavy working conditions such as large screws into hard wood will use up the Battery Pack energy faster than lighter working conditions. Do not re-charge your Battery Pack below 0^ C and above 30^ C as this will affect performance.

MAINTENANCE

Remove the battery pack from the tool before carrying out any adjustment, servicing or maintenance.

Your power tool requires no additional lubrication or maintenance.

There are no user serviceable parts in your power tool. Never use water or chemical cleaners to clean your power tool. Wipe clean with a dry cloth. Always store your power tool in a dry place. Keep the motor ventilation slots clean. Keep all working controls free of dust. Occasionally you may see sparks through the ventilation slots. This is normal and will not damage your power tool.
