Important instructions for safety and environment
This section contains safety instructions that will help protect from risk of personal injury or property damage.
Failure to follow these instructions invalidates the granted warranty.
1.1 General safety
• This appliance complies with the international safety standards.
- This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
• Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised.
- Do not use the appliance outdoors or in the bathroom.
- Do not use it if the power cable or the appliance itself is damaged. Contact an authorised service.
- This appliance is intended to be used in household only. It is not designed for professional use in.
- Your mains power supply should comply with the information supplied on the rating plate of the appliance.
- For additional protection, this appliance should be connected to a household faulty current protection switch with no more than 30 mA.
- Use the appliance with a grounded outlet only.
- Do not use the appliance with an extension cord.
- Do not squeeze or bend the power cord and do not rub it on sharp edges in order to prevent any damage.
- Do not touch the appliance or its plug with wet or damp hands when the appliance is plugged in.
- Do not pull the power cable when unplugging the appliance.
- Never fill the appliance above the maximum level indicator, boiling water may splash out.
1 Important instructions for safety and environment
- Do not fill the kettle below the minimum level indicator.
- Do not open the lid while the water is boiling.
- Position the lid so that the hot steam is directed away from you.
- Hold the appliance by the handle only.
- Never operate the appliance without any water inside it.
- Do not fill the kettle when it is fitted on its base.
- Operate the appliance with its original base.
• Always use the appliance on a stable and flat surface. - Do not attempt to dismantle the appliance.
- Only use the original parts or parts recommended by the manufacturer.
- Unplug the appliance before cleaning. After cleaning, dry the appliance and all parts before connecting it to mains supply.

Do not immerse the appliance, or power plug in water or any other liquids.

Never use the appliance in or near to combustible or inflammable places and materials.
- If you keep the packaging materials, store them out of the reach of children.
1.2 Compliance with the WEEE Directive and Disposing of the Waste Product:
This product complies with EU WEEE Directive (2012/19/EU). This product bears a classification symbol for waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE).

This symbol indicates that this product shall not be disposed with other household waste at the end of its service life. The used device must be returned to an official collection point for the recycling of electrical and electronic devices. To find these collection points, please contact your local authority or retailer where the product was purchased. Each household performs an important role in the restoring and recycling of old appliances. The appropriate disposal of used appliance helps prevent potential negative consequences for the environment and human health.
1.3 Compliance with RoHS Directive
The product you have purchased complies with EU RoHS Directive (2011/65/EU). It does not contain harmful and prohibited materials specified in the Directive.

Comply with the times recommended by the manual while using the appliance. Unplug the appliance after each use.
2 Kettle
2.1 Overview

The values which are declared in the markings affixed on your appliance or the other printed documents supplied with it represent the values which were obtained in the laboratories pursuant to the pertinent standards. These values may vary according to the usage of the appliance and ambient conditions.

3 Operation
3.1 Preparation
- Remove all packaging and sticker materials and dispose of them according to the applicable legal regulations.
- Before using the appliance for the first time, clean all parts which come into contact with water carefully. (See the "Cleaning and care" section).
- Completely roll out the power cord from the cable coil (9) on the bottom of the base (8). Pass the power cord through the slot on the base.
- Clean the kettle well before initial use and discard water of first two boiling cycles.
3.2 Operation
- Push the lid release button (4) on the kettle to open the lid (3).
- The lid (3) opens automatically.
- Fill the water tank (10) with water.

Do not place the water tank (10) on the base (8) while filling it with water.

Never fill the water tank (10) above the maximum level indicator (6) or below the minimum level indicator.

Close the lid (3) until it clicks into place.
-
Place the water tank (10) on the base (8). Make sure that it is sitting in an upright and stable position.
-
Insert the plug into the wall socket.
-
Press down On/Off switch (7).
- On/Off switch (7) illuminates and boiling process begins.

Lid (3) should always be closed during the boiling process; otherwise the kettle will not switch off automatically.
- After a few minutes, the water will start to boil. The kettle switches off automatically and On/Off switch (7) moves upwards.
- The function indicator goes off.

If you want to stop the heating manually, push the On/Off switch (7) upwards.
-
Disconnect the plug from the wall socket.
-
Take the water tank (10) from the base (8). Only hold it by the handle (5).

WARNING: Do not open the lid (3) as hot water could splash out. Make sure that no water splashes onto the base (8).
- Pour the water from the spout (1) to the cup or glass you want to use.

If you want to continue the boiling process, repeat the procedure from 1 to 10.

Let the kettle cool down between each heating process.
Hints and Tips
- The kettle is equipped with a water filter (2) which filters out limestone and other residues when the water is being poured out.
- Use softened or filtered water to prevent lime build-up.
4 Information
4.1 Cleaning and care

WARNING: Never use petrol solvents, abrasive cleaners, metal objects or hard brushes to clean the appliance.

WARNING: Never put the appliance, base (8) or power cord in water or any other liquid.
- Turn the appliance off and disconnect it from wall socket.
- Let the appliance cool down completely.
- Use a damp soft cloth and a little mild cleanser to clean the exterior of the appliance.

Water filter (2) can be removed for cleaning purposes. To do this:
-
Press the release downwards and take out the filter.
- Depending on the level of lime build-up, clean the filter with water and a little lemon juice or white vinegar. Use a soft brush.
- Insert the filter again from above until it clicks into place.

Before using the appliance after cleaning, dry all parts carefully using a soft towel.
4.2 Descaling the kettle
Descaling extends the life of your kettle. Descaling period depends on the water hardness of your area.
- Fill the heater with water up to the maximum level and boil.
- After the heater is switched off, unplug the appliance.
- Add 2 cups of white vinegar or 1 tablespoon of citric acid into the boiled water.
-
Keep the solution in the heater for a few hours.
-
Then pour it and rinse the inner part of the heater thoroughly.
- Fill the heater with clean water and boil it.
- Then empty the heater and rinse with water again.

If there is still some scale, repeat the procedure.

You can also use a descaler which is appropriate for utensils. If you use a descaler, please follow the instructions of that descaler.
4.3 Storage
- If you do not plan to use the appliance for a long period of time, please store it carefully.
- Make sure the appliance is unplugged, cooled down and completely dry.
- Store the appliance in a cool, dry place.
- Make sure the appliance is kept out of the reach of children.
- Wind up the power cord around the cable coil (9) on the bottom of the base (8).
4.4 Handling and transportation
- During handling and transportation, carry the appliance in its original packaging. The packaging of the appliance protects it against physical damages.
- Do not place heavy loads on the appliance or the packaging. The appliance may be damaged.
- Dropping the appliance will render it non-operational or cause permanent damage.
