- Place the appliance only on a level, dry surface

- Do not keep your hands, clothes or other objects over the opening in the lid while the appliance is working and do not cover the opening

- Do not use the appliance near flammable or explosive materials and objects

- Never place the appliance on hot surfaces

- Only boil eggs in the appliance

- Boil the eggs only if there is water in the bowl

- The mains cable should not hang freely in the air or come into contact with hot surfaces/objects

• Disconnect the mains plug from the socket if the appliance is not being used
• Hot steam is generated when the appliance is being used. Avoid contact with the steam when lifting the lid or when steam comes out of the opening in the lid
• Please make sure that escaping steam or moisture will not be condensing on sensitive objects or surfaces
• The scales on the measuring cup are merely indicative. Adjust the amount of water as needed if the desired degree of hardness is not obtained

- Never immerse the appliance or the lead cable in water or other liquids

- Do not use any liquids to clean the outer surfaces of the appliance. Use a dry, soft cloth for this purpose

- This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.

3. Initial use

Remove the egg cooker and the accessories from the packaging.

Caution: The egg piercer is located at the bottom of the measuring cup. Therefore be careful when handling the measuring cup to avoid injuries.

Remove all of the packaging material.

The egg cooker should be cleaned before using it for the first time to remove any production residues. When cleaning, please refer to the information provided under section 6 of this operating manual.

Then place the egg cooker on a level, dry surface and connect the appliance to a properly installed and earthed socket of your residence.

The egg cooker is now ready to use. For more detailed information on the cooking process, see the following sections.

4. Boiling the eggs

The appliance allows you to adjust the degree of hardness of the eggs to be boiled. For this purpose, various scales of “soft”( ), “medium”( ) and “hard”( ) are given on the measuring cup. Each scale has markings which represent the number of eggs you want to boil.

Fill the measuring cup with water up to the marking which corresponds to the number of eggs to be boiled and the degree of hardness on the scale that you desire.

Note: The amount of water that is required for the desired degree of hardness may vary slightly depending on the size and storage temperature of the eggs. Add some more water if the eggs are too soft. Add less water if the eggs are too hard. Here, it is advisable to use one marking above or below.

Now carefully pour the water from the measuring cup into the cooking bowl at the top of the egg cooker and then insert the egg holder.

Using the egg piercer provided at the bottom of the measuring cup, make a hole in the wider end of the egg and place the eggs into the egg holder with the hole facing over.

Close the egg cooker by placing the lid. In order to start the cooking process, switch on the egg cooker using the on/off button. The indicator starts glowing.

An audible signal is heard as soon as the boiled eggs are ready.

Press the on/off button to turn it off. Open the lid and remove the plug from the outlet.

Note: It is advisable to clean the appliance after each use. When cleaning, please refer to the information provided under section 5 of this operating manual.

5. Cleaning

Please follow these instructions when cleaning to avoid injuries and damage to the appliance:

• Switch off the appliance before cleaning and allow it to cool down
• Ensure that the mains plug is disconnected from the socket
• Do not open the appliance
• Do not immerse the appliance in liquids
• Do not use any cleaning agents or solvents
• Do not use sharp abrasives, steel wool, metallic objects, hot detergents or disinfectants as they may cause damage
• The lid and egg insert can be rinsed and dried with a soft cloth

The bowl and the mains cable can be cleaned using a slightly damp cloth.

5.1. Descaling

• We recommend decalcifying the egg boiler at regular intervals depending on the intensity of use.
• Please always unplug the appliance before cleaning and wait until it has cooled down completely.
• Please use only commercially available citric acid-based descaling agents to descale the water container.

• The dosage for the descaling agent can be found in the packaging or on the enclosed leaflet.

• Allow the descaling agent to soak slightly and then wipe it off.

• If there is still limescale residue, boil only water and descaling agent and then clean the appliance thoroughly so that there are no traces of descaling agent left.

• Cook the appliance by using water only.

Wipe the appliance dry after cleaning. The egg holder, lid and measuring cup can be cleaned by either using detergent under running water or in the dishwasher.

6. Safety instructions and liability disclaimer

Never try to open the device to carry out repairs or conversions. Avoid contact with mains voltages. Do not short-circuit the product. The device is not certified for use in the open air; only use it in dry conditions. Protect it from high humidity, water and snow. Keep it away from high temperatures. Do not subject the device to sudden changes in temperature or heavy vibration as this might damage electronic components. Examine the device for damage before using it. The unit should not be used if it has received an impact or has been damaged in any other way. Please observe national regulations and restrictions. Do not use the device for purposes other than those described in the instructions. This product is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach of children or mentally impaired persons. Any repair or alteration to the device not carried out by the original supplier, will invalidate the warranty or guarantee. The product may only be used by persons who have read and understood these instructions. The device specifications may change without any separate prior notice to this effect.

7. Disposal Instructions

The European Directive (WEEE) requires that old electrical and electronic appliances shall be disposed of separately from normal household garbage for optimal recycling. The component parts must be separated, collected and sent for recycling or disposal in an environment-friendly manner. Otherwise, toxic and dangerous substances could cause enduring damage to the environment if disposed of incorrectly. As a consumer you are legally obligated (Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act-ElektroG) to return electronic equipment at the end of its lifetime to their manufacturer, point of sale, public collection points or importer free of charge. The relevant local laws apply here. The symbol on the product, in the instructions or on its packing indicates these regulations.
