The following safety instructions are not only intended to protect your health and the health of others, but also to protect the product. Failure to follow these instructions can result in physical injury or damage (electric shock, skin burns, fire).

• The appliance is overblanket.
• The blankets can only be operated with the controller (BE31) supplied.
• This appliance must not be used by persons insensitive to heat and other very vulnerable persons who are unable to react to overheating.
• Do not use the blankets when wet.
• If the power supply cable is damaged, it may only be replaced by an authorised dealer or by qualified electricians. In order to prevent hazards,

always send the blanket in to the service centre.

- When not in use, store the blankets as follows :

- Store the blankets in its original packaging and keep it in a clean, dry place.

- Fold the power cable carefully to avoid cable breaks.

- Do not crease the blankets by placing items on top of it during storage.

- The appliance can be used by children older than 3 years and younger than 8 years under supervision and with the control always set to minimum temperature value.

- The cable and control unit of the appliance can give rise to risks of entanglement, strangulation, tripping or treading if not correctly arranged.

The user shall make sure that excess ties and electric cords shall be ar- ranged in a safe way.

• Only position 1 level is for continuous operation.
• Use the appliance only for the purpose described in this user manual.
• Using it for long durations may cause skin burns.
• If you find the product uncomfortable or painful during use, stop using it immediately!
• Caution! Never fall asleep while using the electric blanket.
• Do not use the electric blanket on parts of the body which are inflamed, injured or swollen. If in doubt, please consult your doctor before using it.

- The electric and magnetic fields emitted by this electric blanket may interfere with the functioning of your pacemaker under certain circumstances. Check with your doctor or the manufacturer of the pacemaker if you may use the electric blanket.

• The electronic components in the electric blanket switch can heat the switch slightly during use. Do not cover the switch.
• Do not pull, turn or bend the cables!
• The appliance is not to be used by young children over the age of three unless the controls have been pre-set by a parent or guardian, and unless the child has been adequately instructed on how to operate the controls safely.

- If the electric blanket has been used improperly, it has to be properly repaired by a suitably qualified technician before further use.

- Repairs should only be carried out by qualified technicians or in a service centre authorised by the manufacturer, since special tools are required.

- Repairs carried out incorrectly could present considerable danger to the user.

- This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.

• Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.
• Switches and power cable should not be exposed to moisture. Use the appliance only in dry surroundings.
• Do not cover the electric blanket with another pillow or another blanket.
• Never operate the blanket unsupervised.
• Before connecting the blanket to a power supply, make sure the power is switched off and the mains voltage specified on the specification plate matches with that of the connected power supply.
• Do not use the appliance outdoors.
• This appliance is not intended for medical use in hospitals.

- Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the electric blanket.

- Examine the appliance frequently for signs of wear or damage. If there are such signs, if the appliance has been misused or does not work, return it to the supplier before switching it on again.

- When storing the appliance, allow it to cool down before folding.

- Children under the age of three are not to use this appliance due to their inability to react to overheating.

3. Initial use

Take the appliance out of the packaging and first remove all the packaging material. Make sure that the power cable of the switch unit is connected to the plug on the electric blanket. Then lay the electric blanket out and plug the power cable into a properly installed socket.

4. Usage and function

Note: It is advisable to switch on the product 15 minutes before use. The heating process takes about 5-15 minutes.

1. Place the blanket in the desired position.
2. Slide the switch from position 0 (off) to position 1 (Heat setting 1). After a few minutes you can clearly feel the blanket heating up. The power indicator LED starts glowing.

3. If you want to adjust a higher temperature, slide the switch to position 2 (Heat setting 2) or position 3 (Heat setting 3).

4. If the electric blanket becomes too hot, select a lower heat setting.

5. To switch off the appliance after use, slide the switch to position 0 (off). The power indicator LED stops glowing which means that the appliance is switched off.

Note: The appliance switches off automatically after about 180 minutes in each heat setting.

5. Cleaning and Care

Follow the safety instructions strictly while cleaning.

Before you start cleaning the electric blanket, disconnect the mains plug and allow the appliance to cool down completely.

• The electric blanket has a removable switch unit. Disconnect the switch unit from the electric blanket by pulling the cable from the plug on the electric blanket.
• You can wash the electric blanket at max. 30 °C in the gentle wash cycle of the washing machine. Use a mild detergent. After use, let the electric blanket cool down for at least 10 minutes before washing it.
• You can then clean the electric blanket using a dry soft brush.
• Small stains can be removed with a damp sponge and some mild liquid detergent. Never use aggressive cleaning agents or stiff brushes. This could damage the appliance.
  • After washing, lay the electric blanket on a flat surface and allow it to dry completely. Use the electric blanket again only after it is completely dry.
• Finally connect the switch unit cable to the electric blanket.

Spread the blanket out for storage without placing anything on top in a clean, dry place.

Avoid bending the blanket a lot! Objects should not be placed on the blanket during storage.

6. Safety instructions and disclaimer

Please do not try to open the appliance to carry out repairs or modifications. Avoid contact with the mains voltage. Do not short-circuit the product. The appliance is not waterproof. Please use it only in dry surroundings. Protect it from high humidity, water and snow. Do not expose the appliance to high temperatures.

Do not expose the appliance to sudden changes in temperature or strong vibrations, as this could damage the electronic components. Check the appliance for damage before using it. The appliance should not be used if it has been subject to impact or has been damaged in any other manner. Please comply with the local regulations and restrictions. Do not use the appliance for purposes other than those described in the user manual.

This product is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach of children or mentally disabled persons. Any repairs or modifications to the appliance not carried out by the original supplier will void any warranty and guarantee claims. The appliance should be used only by persons who have read and understood this user manual. The specifications of the appliance may be changed without any special prior notification.

7. Disposal instructions

In line with the European WEEE directive, electrical and electronic appliances should not be disposed of along with domestic waste. Their components must be sent for recycling or disposal separately, as improper disposal of toxic and dangerous components could permanently damage the environment. According to the electrical and electronic equipment act (ElektroG), you are obliged (as a consumer) to return (free of charge) electrical and electronic appliances to the manufacturer, the point of sale or public collection points at the end of their service life. The relevant local laws regulate the details in this regard. The symbol displayed on the product, in the user manual or/and on the packaging refers to these regulations.
