This appliance emits a lot of heat during operation. Therefore, touch only the operating controls. In case of doubt, use heat-resistant gloves.

Cleaning and maintenance should not be carried out by children.
- This appliance can be operated by children from 8 years of age and above, as well as by people with reduced physical, sensory or mental capacities or who lack knowledge or experience, if they have been supervised or instructed regarding safe use of the device, and they understand the resultant dangers.
- CAUTION! Some parts of the product may become very hot and cause burns. Be very careful if children or frail persons are present.
- Never immerse it in water for cleaning. Wipe the body with a dry cloth.

CAUTION! Even if the appliance is not being used, always disconnect the mains plug from the socket before inserting the individual parts or cleaning.
- Take the appliance out of the package and remove all the packaging material. Check the appliance for completeness.
- Remove the grill plate by pressing the unlocking buttons and take them out.
- Before using it for the first time, clean the grill plate with warm water and a mild cleaning agent. Then thoroughly dry the components.
- Replace the grill plates. Make sure that they lock in place to ensure a proper fit.
- Ensure that the drip tray is inserted correctly at the bottom of the appliance. The guide rail helps to insert the tray properly.
- Connect the plug to a properly installed socket before commissioning. Ensure that the voltage on the specification plate matches that of your domestic power supply.

Note: Do not use any aggressive or chemical cleaning agents.
5. Modes
Smart mode
The smart mode automatically sets the temperature and heating time depending on the selected program.

Insert the mains plug into the socket and you hear a beep.
-
Press the ON/OFF button " " to start the appliance. The status indicator light up again.
-
Then select the appropriate mode (food category). If you want to roast chicken for example, you can press the "Chicken" button. After selecting the food category, the five status LEDs glow together.

Press the "OK" button if all the settings are ok. Preheat the appliance. The status LED "PRE-HEATING" glows accordingly.

When the temperature reaches the correct temperature, a beep is heard which indicates that the preheating is completed. At this time, the status LED "PRE-HEATING" glows constantly and the indicator lamp "START" starts flashing.

Place the food on the base plate and close the lid. The thickness of the food can be automatically detected in about 3 seconds, and the appliance selects the heating process accordingly. At this time the "PRE-HEATING" and "START" indicators glow constantly and the "RARE" indicator flashes.
-
For continuous heating, the indicator lights change gradually from "RARE" to "MEDIUM" to "WELL DONE" to indicate the status of the food. Once a status is reached, the flashing indicator starts glowing steadily and the next indicator starts flashing.

- If the "WELL DONE" indicator glows continuously, then the roasting process is complete and you hear a beep. Then the appliance automatically switches off. Open the handle and check the food.
Caution! The smart mode cannot be used if the grille is used in the open position.
Manual mode
- Insert the mains plug into the socket and you hear a beep.
- Press the ON/OFF button " " to start the appliance. Press the " " button to start the manual mode.
M - Then press the "OK" button. The appliance starts to preheat. At this time, only the "PRE-HEATING" indicator flashes.
- When preheating is completed, you hear a beep. The "PRE-HEATING" indicator glows continuously and the other four status LEDs flash one after the other.
- Place the food on the grilling surface and then close it. The appliance starts the roasting process. In manual mode, the thickness of the food is not detected and there is no status reminder. Check the status of the food after a few minutes.
Helpful tips:
- For satisfactory results, apply a little cooking oil or cooking spray to the plates.
-
Close the grill plates during preheating. In manual mode, there is no detection function, which means that the appliance continues to run for about two hours until it automatically turns off.
-
Open the cover only using the handle. Remove the food with a heat resistant plastic spatula. Never use metal tongs or a knife as these can cause damage to the non-stick coating of the cooking plates.
- The beep for "RARE" and "MEDIUM" is heard only when the beef function is used. For all other functions there is only one beep for "WELL DONE".
6. Usage as an open grill
- Place the grill on a clean, flat and heat-resistant surface on which you want to cook.
- When the appliance is positioned as shown in Fig. 1, hold the top plate at a slight angle forward and press the unlock button (1). The upper cooking platen can be placed at 180 degrees with the lower cooking plate, as shown in Fig. 2.
- Use the grill as an open grill to cook burgers, steaks, poultry, fish and vegetables.

When the unlocking button of the hinge pops out, the upper plate is locked again.

NOTE: The fan continues to run for 3 minutes after you press the mains switch to turn it off.
7. Cleaning and Care
Even if the appliance is not being used, disconnect the mains plug from the socket before cleaning it and/or the individual parts.
This product does not contain any user serviceable parts.
- Disconnect the appliance from the mains and allow it to cool down completely.
Caution! The grill is still very hot. It takes a while to cool down.

Press the unlock buttons on the top and bottom and removes the plates from the grill.
-
After removing the grill plates, you can clean them in warm soapy water or in the dishwasher. Dry the plates completely before placing them back on the grill.
-
Remove the drip tray at the bottom of the appliance wearing gloves, empty the drip tray into a heat-resistant pan, rinse it in warm, soapy water or place it in the upper rack of the dishwasher and dry it thoroughly later.

Note: Before removing the drip tray, make sure that the temperature of oil or oil residues is less than 40^ C, otherwise it can cause burn injuries if it is too hot.

Wipe the other surfaces of the grille using a clean, damp cloth.
-
Finally replace the grill plates such that they lock into place.

Caution!

Do not immerse the appliance in water or other liquids.
-
Do not use aggressive, abrasive cleaning agents or solvents.
-
Never use oven cloth, wire wool or soap pads.
7.1 Storage
- Clean the appliance completely before storing it.
- Close the grill completely and always close it before storing.
- Store the appliance in a dry place and out of reach of children. The grill should not be stored vertically. Always place it on the stands.
8. Safety instructions and disclaimer
Never try to open the device to carry out repairs or modifications. Avoid contact with the mains voltage. Do not short-circuit the product. The appliance is not approved for outdoor use. Therefore please use it only in dry surroundings.
Protect it from high humidity, water and snow. Do not expose the appliance to high temperatures.
Do not expose the appliance to sudden changes in temperature or heavy vibrations, as this could damage the electronic components. Check the appliance for damage before using it. The appliance should not be used if it was subject to impact or has been damaged in some other manner.
Please comply with the local regulations and restrictions. Do not use the appliance for purposes other than those described in the user manual. This product is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach of children or mentally disabled persons. Any repair or modifications to the appliance, which is not carried out by the original supplier, will void any warranty and guarantee claims.
The appliance should be used only by persons who have read and understood this user manual. The specifications of the appliance may be changed without special prior notice.
9. Disposal instructions
In line with the European WEEE directive, electrical and electronic devices should not be disposed of along with domestic waste. Their components must be sent separately for recycling or disposal, as improper disposal of toxic and dangerous components may permanently damage the environment. According to the electrical and electronic equipment act (ElektroG), you are obliged (as a consumer) to return (free of charge) all electrical and electronic devices to the manufacturer, the
point of sale, or public collection points at the end of their service life. The relevant local laws regulate the details in this regard. The symbol displayed on the product, in the user manual or/and on the packaging refers to these regulations. With this manner of sorting, recycling and disposal of used devices, you make an important contribution towards protecting our environment.
10. Warranty and guarantee
Regardless of statutory warranty claims, the manufacturer provides a guarantee of at least 1 year (2 years in Germany) under the laws of your country. The warranty starts on the date of sale to the end user. The warranty only covers defects caused by material or manufacturing shortcomings. Warranty repairs should only be carried out by an authorized customer service centre. To assert your warranty claim, the original sales receipt (with date of sale) has to be enclosed.
The following are excluded from the warranty:
- Normal wear and tear
- Improper use such as overloading the appliance, unapproved accessories
- Damage caused by external influences, use of force or by foreign bodies
- Damage caused by not following the instructions in the manual, such as connecting to the wrong mains voltage or not following the assembly instructions
- Fully or partially dismantled appliances
