How to pair the STYRBAR remote control with a light source?

Place the remote control within 5 cm of the light source, then press the pairing button 4 times within 5 seconds. The light source flashes once to confirm pairing. You can repeat the operation for up to 10 sources.

What to do if the remote control stops responding?

Reset the remote control by pressing the pairing button 4 times within 5 seconds. If the problem persists, check the batteries and replace them if necessary.

How to replace the batteries of the STYRBAR remote control?

Open the battery compartment cover on the back of the remote control. Replace the two batteries with new AAA/HR03 batteries (recommended: IKEA LADDA 900 1.2 V). Observe polarity.

Why does the red LED flash when I press a button?

This means the batteries are low and need to be replaced. The remote control will still work for a while, but it is advisable to change them promptly.

Can I use the STYRBAR remote control with the DIRIGERA gateway?

Yes, the STYRBAR remote control is compatible with the DIRIGERA gateway (as well as the TRÅDFRI). Use the IKEA Home smart app to configure and control your devices.

How to adjust brightness with the remote control?

To increase brightness, press and hold the on button (the top button). To decrease brightness, press and hold the off button (the bottom button). A short press turns the light on or off.

How to change color or color temperature?

Use the left (<) and right (>) buttons to browse different shades of white or colors, depending on the capabilities of your light source.

The range is 10 meters in free field. Obstacles (walls, furniture) may reduce the range.

Is the STYRBAR remote control waterproof?

No, it is designed for indoor use only. Its IP44 rating protects against water splashes, but it must not be immersed or exposed to rain.

Getting started with DIRIGERA hub

Download the IKEA Home smart app and follow the instructions on screen to add the product to your IKEA Home smart system.

Remote control functions

Short press to turn on. To dim up, press and hold the button.

Short press to turn off. To dim down, press and hold the button.

Change white spectrum or colours.

Adding devices to your remote control

When the remote control is sold together with a light source (in the same package), they are already paired. If the remote control is purchased separately, you must manually pair it to your light source.

To add light sources, just repeat the steps below.

1. Make sure that your light source is installed and the main power switch is turned on.
2. Hold the remote control close to the light source you want to add (no more than 5 cm away).
3. Press the pairing button 54 times within 5 seconds. A red light will shine steadily on the remote control. Your light source will begin to dim and flash one time to indicate that it has been successfully paired.

Up to 10 light sources can be paired with 1 remote control. Make sure to pair them one at a time. If the light sources are close to each other, disconnect those that have already been paired from the main power switch.

Factory reset your devices For light sources:

Toggle the main switch 6 times.

For remote control:

Press the pairing button 4 times within 5 seconds.

Synchronizing

If your light source becomes unsynchronized, a long press on the left (<) or right (>) buttons will return the light source to its default setting (2700K).

Changing the battery

When the remote control is used regularly and as intended, the batteries will last for approximately 2 years.

When it's time to replace the battery, a red LED indicator will flash when you press any button on the remote control.

Open the battery lid and replace the battery with two new AAA/HR03 batteries.

Caution!

Risk of explosion if battery is replaced by an incorrect type.

Dispose of used batteries according to the instructions.

Important!

• The remote control is for indoor use only and can be used in temperatures ranging from 0°C to 40°C.
• Do not leave the remote control in direct sunlight or near any heat source, as it may overheat.
• The range between the remote control and the receiver are measured in open air.
• Different building materials and placement of the units can affect the wireless connectivity range.

Care instructions

To clean the remote control, wipe with a soft cloth moistened with a little mild detergent. Use another soft, dry cloth to wipe dry.

Note!

Never use abrasive cleaners or chemical solvents as this can damage the product.

Do not mix batteries of different capacities, types or date stamps.
