Frequently Asked Questions - F-1831B Brentwood

How to assemble the Brentwood F-1831B fan?
Follow the assembly instructions according to the chosen type (pedestal, table/floor or wall). For the pedestal fan, secure the pole to the base with the nut and bottom weight, assemble the front and rear grilles with the blades on the motor head, then attach the head to the pole. Do not plug in until fully assembled.
The fan emits an odor or smoke during first use, is this normal?
Yes, this is normal during the first moments of operation. It is a chemical reaction from the heating element (if present) or packaging. It will disappear quickly.
How to clean the fan?
Before any cleaning, disconnect the fan and let the blades stop completely. Wipe the blades with a soft damp cloth. Do not use thinners, benzene or abrasives. For stubborn stains, use a little mild soap. Dry thoroughly before replacing the grille.
What are the important safety precautions?
Never insert fingers or objects into the grille. Do not use near water or with wet hands. Disconnect before assembly/disassembly/moving/cleaning. Do not leave unattended. Do not use if cord or plug is damaged. Keep out of reach of children.
Can I use an extension cord with this fan?
An extension cord is not recommended, but if necessary, use one rated at least as high as the product and ensure the plug fits fully. Arrange it to avoid tripping hazards.
How to store the fan out of season?
You can store it partially disassembled or assembled. Keep it in a dry and safe place, out of reach of children. Use a dust cover if stored assembled. The original box is ideal for disassembled storage.
Can the fan be mounted on the wall?
Yes, the F-1831B model can be mounted on the wall. Assemble the grilles, blades and motor head as for other configurations, attach the head to the bracket, then fix the hooks to the wall with screws and nuts and hang the fan.
What to do if the fan does not work?
First check that the fan is correctly assembled and plugged in. Make sure the outlet works. If the problem persists, do not attempt to repair yourself as there are no user-serviceable parts. Contact a qualified after-sales service.
How to make the fan oscillate?
The fan is equipped with an oscillation button. To activate oscillation, turn or push this button (depending on the model). To stop oscillation, return it to the initial position.
The fan makes noise, is this normal?
A slight hum from the motor is normal. If the noise is loud or abnormal, check that the blades are not hitting the grille and that all screws are tight. If the noise persists, disconnect and contact customer service.
