Switch-on time:
The S2 switch-on time of 5 minutes (short operation) means that the engine may only be subject to continuous load with rated voltage of 120W for a time specified on the type label (5 minutes). Otherwise, the engine could get inadmissibly heated. During a break, the engine gets cooled down to the initial temperature.
Noise emission values:
The fretsaw noise is measured according to DIN EN ISO 3722; 11/95, DIN EN 11 201. Noise in place of work may exceed 93 dB (A). In such a case, the user must take anti-noise measures (ear protectors to be used).
| In such a case, the user must take anti-noise measures (ear protectors to be used). | Idle running | |
| Sound pressure level L_pA : | 82.6 dB | 72.2 dB |
| Sound power level L_WA | 92.4 dB | 81.8 dB |
"The given values are emission values and therefore do not have to represent safe values in the place of work. Although there is correlation between emission and pollutant levels, this is not a reliable basis for determining whether or not additional safety measures are necessary. Factors able to influence the current level of pollutants in the place of work include the time of effects, type of place of work, other noise sources, etc. e.g. number of machines and other related processes. Reliable values in the place of work may also differ in various countries. However, this information should authorise the user to evaluate better the threat and risk."

Assembly

The fretsaw must be unplugged before any servicing pool change.
Fitting the saw to bench
To fit the saw, a massive-wood bench is better than a weak compressed board with vibrations and noise significantly affecting your work.
Fixing materials necessary for assembly are not included in the supply.
Example of materials:
4 M8 hex screws
4 ∅ 8 mm flat gaskets
4 ∅ 8 mm washers
8 M8 hex nuts
For assembly purposes, use the existing assembly holes (pic. A/6+12). Do not tighten the screws too much. Keep some clearance so that the rubber legs (pic. A/7+11) could absorb well.

⚠️ Residual risks
The appliance has been designed according to the state of the art and recognised safety-technical regulations. However, there still may be some residual risks when working with the appliance.
- Risk of injury for fingers and hands by the saw blade.
- Risk of injury by throw-away workpieces in case of unprofessional guidance.
- Risk of electric shock when unspecified feeder cables are used.
- Never look directly to the laser.
• Further, there may be some hidden residual risks despite all the preventive measures taken.
- Residual risks can be minimised if Safety instructions and Use as designated and the entire Operating Instructions are followed.
Plugging
Check regularly the feeder cables for any damage. Before that, the appliance must be unplugged!
The feeder cable must be in accordance with applicable provisions of VDE and DIN. Feeder cable with H 07-RN marking to be used only. Sticking the type marking on the feeder cable is mandatory.
Defective feeder cables
Insulation gets often damaged on the electric feeder cables.
Possible causes:
Galls if feeder cables are guided in gaps under windows or doors.
Breaks as a result of unprofessional fixing or guiding of feeder cables.
Cutting-off as a result of the feeder cable being run over. Insulation damage by pulling the cable out of wall socket. Cracks as a result of insulation aging.
Feeder cables damaged in this manner must not be used – they are a risk to life due to the insulation damage!
Operation
- The saw does not cut wood automatically. The user enables cutting by guiding wood to the moving saw blade.
- Teeth cut the wood only when down.
- Wood must be guided slowly to the saw blade as the saw blade teeth are very small.
- Every person needs some time of training to handle the saw. During that time, several blades will certainly get broken.
- When cutting thicker pieces of wood, it is especially necessary to make sure the saw blade is not bent or turned. This will increase the life of the saw blade.
- Best results are achieved with wood thinner than 20 mm.
The right saw blade
Small and narrow saw blades must be used for thin wood not thicker more than 6 mm.
Wider saw blades must be used to cut wood thicker than 6 mm.
With wider saw blades it is not possible to cut small and narrow curves as with thinner saw blades.
The saw blade gets worn more when processing plywood, hard wood and thick pieces of wood (from 19 mm).
Switching on/off - pic. E
To switch the appliance on, press the green button (pic. E/14).
To switch the appliance off, you must press the red button (pic. E/15).
Caution: The appliance has been fitted with a safety switch against repeated switch-on after power failure.
Speed controller - pic. E
With the stroke number controller (pic. E/13) the number of strokes (saw blade running speed) can be set depending on the cut material.
E.g. the lowest setting of 400 per min. ^-1 and highest setting of 1,600 per min. ^-1 for soft materials and materials with long fibres.
Performance of inner cuts
- The fretsaw characteristic includes performance of inner cuts in the board with no damage to the board outer side or circuit.
Caution: To prevent injuries due to accidental start of the appliance, the appliance must always be unplugged before removing or changing the saw blade.
- To perform inner cuts in the board: Remove the saw blade as specified under Changing the saw blade.
- Drill a hole of app. 6.3 mm in the given board.
- Put the board with the hole on the saw bench over the inlet.
- Fit the saw blade through the hole in the board and adjust the blade tension.
- After performing the inner cuts, remove the saw blade from the holders (as specified under Changing the saw blade) and take the board off the bench.
LED lamp operation
- Switch the appliance on (pic. E/14) as specified under Switching on/off.
- The LED lamp (pic. A/9) can now be turned on/off using the switch (pic. E/17).
Laser operation
- Switch the appliance on (pic. E/14) as specified under Switching on/off.
- Laser (pic. H/24) can now be turned on/off using the switch (pic. E/16).
- Release the saw blade cover (pic. A/2). Fold the saw blade cover backwards.
