How to use the Fritel EC 1475 egg cooker?
Pierce the bottom of each egg with the egg piercer on the measuring cup. Pour the appropriate amount of water onto the heating plate (see table in the manual). Place the egg holder, put the eggs, put the lid, plug in and press the On/Off button. Wait for the audible signal before removing the eggs.
How much water should I use for hard-boiled eggs?
For hard-boiled eggs, use the following amounts: 1 egg: 90 ml, 2 eggs: 85 ml, 3 eggs: 80 ml, 4 eggs: 75 ml, 5 eggs: 70 ml, 6 eggs: 65 ml. These values are for medium-sized eggs.
How to clean the egg cooker after use?
Unplug and let it cool. Remove the egg holder, lid and measuring cup. Clean these parts with warm soapy water (not in dishwasher). Clean the heating plate and housing with a damp cloth. For limescale, use diluted vinegar.
What to do if the indicator light does not turn on?
Check that the appliance is properly plugged into a functional 230 V outlet. If the light still does not turn on, the appliance may be defective. Do not use and contact your point of sale.

Violation of the prescriptions and instructions mentioned in this user manual makes the warranty expire automatically!

1. SAFETY PRESCRIPTIONS

This appliance was built in accordance with the European CE-safety standards. As for all electrical household appliances all safety measures have to be taken, in order to prevent accidents and/or to avoid damages to your appliance.

This appliance cannot be used by children from 0 year to 8 years. This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above if they are continuously supervised. This appliance can be used by people with reduce physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge provided they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children aged less than 8 years. Cleaning and user maintenance cannot be made by children.
■ This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar applications excluding: staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments; farm houses; by clients in hotels, motels and other resident type environments; bed and breakfast type environments.
■ This appliance is intended to be used at room temperature. NEVER use the appliance outdoor.
- A damaged power cord can cause electric shocks. NEVER use the appliance if it is damaged, fallen or shows a malfunction, or if the power cord or plug are damaged. In all these cases return the appliance to your sales point or recognized after sales service.
- NEVER touch the control button, the electrical cord or the plug with wet hands, and NEVER immerse them in water or any other liquid. They are only to be cleaned with a damp cloth. Should they get wet anyway, immediate pull out the plug from the socket.
- Immediately switch off the appliance and pull out the plug: after use or when the appliance is NOT in use, when cleaning the appliance and before moving it. NEVER pull by the power cord, but only by the plug.
- NEVER use separate timers or remote control systems.

■ Only use this appliance for cooking eggs.
- ALWAYS place the appliance on a solid and flat base, such as a kitchen counter or table, so that the appliance won't move or turn over.
■ NEVER place the appliance near curtains, wall decorations, clothing, towels or other flammable objects.
- Do NOT touch the steam hole or the heating plate when the appliance is in use.
- Be careful with the sharp egg piercer at the bottom of the measuring cup.
- The heating plate must NOT come into direct contact with food.
- NEVER use extension cords or sockets. Place the appliance near a power point and connect it directly. ALWAYS completely unroll the power cord.
■ NEVER let the cord hang over the edge of the table or the counter.
■ NEVER place the power cord or the appliance near heat sources such as cookers, heatings or ovens.
■ NEVER turn the power cord around the appliance, NEVER bend it or squeeze it.
■ NEVER leave the appliance unattended and NEVER move it when it is plugged in or when it is operating.
■ NEVER cover the appliance when it is in use or still cooling down.
■ NEVER use accessories or spare parts from other appliances or brands.
- ALWAYS switch off the appliance and pull out the plug:

- when the appliance is not in use;

- if the appliance doesn't work properly;

- when cleaning the appliance.

- Repairs may only be done by a recognized repairer or service center.

2. BEFORE THE FIRST USE

■ Remove all packagings and stickers.
- Keep all packing material out of reach of children.
- Check if there is no damage to the appliance or the power cord. If there is any damage, do NOT use the appliance and return it to the sales point.
■ Before using it for the first time, clean the appliance (see point 4).
- For a first cleaning: fill the appliance with a small amount of water (± 100 ml) and switch the appliance on.
- Ensure that the voltage marked on the rating-plate of the appliance is the same as your main voltage. The appliance can only be used with 230V alternating current.
- When using it for the first time, an odour might be released. This is normal and only temporary, it will disappear soon.

3. USE

■ The appliance must be clean and dry.
■ Use the egg piercer from the measuring cup to pierce the bottom - the larger side - of the eggs.
- Pour the right amount of water onto the hot plate. Depending on the number of eggs and the desired hardness, add the right amount of water to obtain the optimal cooking time. Refer to the table on the next page.
■ Place the egg tray in the appliance.
- Place the desired quantity of eggs in the egg tray.
- Cover the appliance with the lid. The lid always needs to be on top of the appliance when it's operating.
- Plug in the power cord.
- Push the on/off button.
- Wait until you hear the sound signal before removing the eggs from the appliance.
- Carefully remove the lid from the appliance using the handles. CAUTION: hot steam will be released. TIP: rinse the eggs under cold water to make them easier to peel.

Caution. The recommendations in the table above are based on medium-sized eggs. The size of the eggs will affect the result.

4. MAINTENANCE

■ Remove the plug and let the appliance completely cool off before disassembling.
- All parts, except the housing, can be cleaned in warm soapy water. Always dry them carefully. Be careful with the sharp egg piercer at the bottom of the measuring cup.
- Do NOT clean the parts in the dishwasher. NEVER use abrasives.
- Clean the heating plate and housing of the appliance with a damp cloth and dry it thoroughly.
- Do NOT use sharp or metal objects or stiff washing-up brushes, since this could damage the appliance and parts.
- To ensure a good performance of your egg cooker, you should descale it on time. Generally, cleaning the heating plate with a damp cloth is sufficient. For severe limescale, use a cloth dampened with some vinegar or soak some diluted vinegar on the heating plate and then wipe it clean with a damp cloth.

5. USEFUL TIPS IN CASE OF MALFUNCTIONS

Do not use the appliance when damaged.

The indicator light doesn't light up:

  • Check if your appliance is connected to the right mains voltage, whether there is mains voltage, and if the appliance was plugged in correctly. If there is still a malfunction, please return the appliance to your sales point.
  • If the power cord is damaged, don't use your appliance and return it to your sales point immediately.

THE APPLIANCE HAS BEEN DESIGNED FOR DOMESTIC USE. THE WARRANTY CONDITIONS EXPIRE UPON PROFESSIONAL USE. DEFECTS AND/OF DAMAGES FOLLOWING TO THE NON-OBSERVANCE OF THE USER MANUAL ARE NOT COVERED BY THE WARRANTY.

6. WARRANTY CONDITIONS

Your warranty starts on the day of purchase and is valid for 2 years.

The user is responsible for cleaning and proper packaging of the defective appliance before presenting it for repair. It is insufficient to wrap the device in cardboard packaging with paper. Fritel is not liable for damage resulting from insufficient packaging, which also irrevocably invalidates the warranty.

Determination of the warranty

  • The warranty covers every repair and/or replacement free of charge of the parts recognized defective by our technical department and if the damage is due to faulty manufacture, construction or material.
    ■ The warranty is only valid for the first/original user.
  • The transport costs, in case of reparation, are at the expenses of the purchaser.
  • The warranty is only granted after presentation of your purchase invoice.
  • The warranty cannot be invoked for normal wear and tear.

The warranty expires in the following cases:

■ Incorrect connection, e.g. electric voltages.
■ Abnormal or professional use or misuse handling.
- In case of insufficient packaging and bad transport in case of return shipping.
■ Lack of care and cleaning.
■ Modifications or repairs made to the appliance by persons not authorized by us as a manufacturer.
- When reference numbers have been altered or been removed.
- For faults not due to the appliance itself, but to an external cause, collision, damage, fire, earthquake, flood, lightning, etc.
- When not respecting the instructions in the user instructions.

For appliances that are not under warranty for any of the above reasons, all costs (transport, administration, research, handling) will be charged.

7. ENVIRONMENT
