Frequently Asked Questions - HT 200 TETRA

How to install the Tetra HT 200 heater?
Attach the suction cups to the heater, set the desired temperature with the notched knob, then place it vertically in the aquarium, preferably near a pump or filter for better water circulation. Make sure the heater is immersed at least up to the 'minimum water level' mark.
What temperature should I set my heater to?
The ideal temperature depends on the fish species. Generally, a temperature between 24 and 26 °C is suitable for most tropical fish. Set the notched knob to the desired value.
What to do if the heater is not heating?
Check that the heater is properly plugged in and the cable is not damaged. Ensure the water level is sufficient. The indicator light should light up when the heater is operating. If the problem persists, contact after-sales service.
Can I use the heater out of water?
No, the HT 200 heater must always be immersed at least up to the 'minimum water level'. Never plug it in out of water, as this would damage the device and pose a safety risk.
How to clean the Tetra HT 200 heater?
Unplug the heater and let it cool for 15 minutes. Clean the glass tube with a soft cloth soaked in water and vinegar to remove limescale deposits. Do not use detergents, solvents, or aggressive acids.
What to do in case of glass tube breakage?
Glass tube breakage is not covered by the warranty. Unplug the device immediately and do not use it anymore. Replace it with a new heater.
Is it necessary to use a residual current circuit breaker?
Yes, for safety reasons, the heater must be powered through a residual current device (RCD) of 30 mA maximum, in accordance with the instructions.
Is the heater compatible with saltwater aquariums?
Yes, the Tetra HT 200 can be used in saltwater, but ensure regular maintenance to avoid corrosion of contacts and deposits.
How to know if the heater is working correctly?
The indicator light lights up when the heater is heating. To check the water temperature, use an aquarium thermometer. Minor discrepancies may exist between the setting and the thermometer reading.
What is the warranty period and how to activate it?
The warranty is 2 years from the date of purchase. It covers defects in materials or workmanship. For any claim, contact your retailer or Tetra France after-sales service at 0 810 121 821, with your proof of purchase.

Instructions for use

Congratulations on the purchase of your Tetra heater thermostat. This TÜV tested heater-thermostat is manufactured from the highest quality materials and uses the latest aquarium heater technology. As a result you can be sure of its accuracy, reliability and safety. Add to this its simplicity of use and you have a heater thermostat that you can simply "set and forget", leaving it to maintain the desired water temperature and leaving you to enjoy your fishkeeping.

Please observe the following instructions when installing and using your Tetra heater thermostat:

  1. Fasten the enclosed suction cups to the points provided on the HT heater thermostat (see fig.) Note: Suction cups and holders for heaters and/or filters are not supplied with the AquaArt aquarium.

  2. Set the desired temperature (2) using the adjusting knob (1).

  3. Fasten the Tetra thermostat heater in the aquarium using the suction cups (see fig.). To ensure the best temperature regulation, choose a place where the water is continuously circulating (i.e. near a filter or pump). Please ensure that the heater is always immersed up to the minimum water level mark.

  4. After installing the heater, insert the plug into the mains socket. The thermostat takes several minutes to register the water temperature. The device switches on or off as soon as the temperature deviates from the desired temperature setting by ± 0.25 degrees Celsius. In this way the Tetra HT thermostat heater automatically keeps the water at the desired temperature. The control lamp illuminates whenever the heater is on. Minor deviations between the adjusted temperature of the heater and the indication of an aquarium thermometer are sometimes possible.

Maintenance

To maintain efficient heating, periodically clean the glass tube of calcifications by first unplugging the heater, removing it after it has been allowed to cool for 15 minutes, and then cleaning it only with water and vinegar. Do not use detergents, solvents or acids.
