USER MANUAL 62511 PROCTOR SILEX
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and/or injury to persons, including the following:
1. Read all instructions.
2. This appliance is not intended for use by persons with reduced physical,
sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they are closely supervised and instructed concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
3. This appliance shall not be used by children. Keep the appliance and its cord
out of reach of children.
4. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used near children.
Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
5. To protect against risk of electrical shock, do not put cord, plug, or mixer
body in water or other liquid.
6. Turn the appliance OFF( ), then unplug from outlet when not in use, before
putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning. To unplug, grasp the plug and pull from the outlet. Never pull from the power cord.
7. Avoid contacting moving parts. Keep hands, hair, and clothing, as well as
spatulas and other utensils, away from beaters during operation to reduce risk of injury to persons, and/or damage to mixer.
8. Remove beaters from mixer before washing.

Parts and Features Bowl Rest™ Never use Bowl Rest when mixer is on or with small (1 1/2 quart/1.4 L) mixing bowls or plastic mixing bowls. This feature can be used on most large mixing bowls. TURN MIXER (OFF); then set mixer on edge of bowl while adding ingredients or checking recipe. BEFORE FIRST USE: Wash the beaters in hot, soapy water. 1. Make sure mixer is
unplugged and speed control is set to (OFF). Insert beaters. Then plug mixer into outlet. Place beaters into bowl.
2. Move the speed control
to desired speed, starting at 1 and increasing to a higher speed if necessary.
3. When finished mixing,
move the speed control to (OFF) and unplug.
4. To eject beaters, with
speed control set at (OFF), push straight down on the speed control. Make it easier by following these tips:
- Use a large mixing bowl to spread out ingredients for easier mixing.
- Have butter or margarine at room temperature.
- Add ingredients one at a time, thoroughly mixing after each addition.
- Add flour one cup at a time.
- If adding chips or nuts to a very thick dough or batter, we recommend stirring them in by hand at the very end of the recipe. Mixing Tips Cleaning Your Mixer
1. Always unplug from
outlet and eject beaters before cleaning.
2. Wash attachments in
hot, soapy water; rinse and dry.
3. Wipe the mixer body
and cord with a clean, damp cloth. NOTE: Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads. To reduce the risk of electrical shock, do not immerse the mixer body in water at any time.7 LIMITED WARRANTY This warranty applies to products purchased and used in the U.S. and Canada.
