How to use the Girmi VP26 steam cooker?

Fill the water tank to the MAX level, attach the steam pipe cover, then add the baskets with food. Cover the top level with the lid and set the timer. The appliance shuts off automatically if water runs out.

How much water should I put in the tank?

Pour water up to the MAX mark indicated on the tank window. Use only water, no other liquids or flavors.

Can I cook different foods at the same time?

Yes, but it is recommended to place foods in separate baskets to avoid mixing flavors. Put long-cooking foods in the bottom basket and start cooking a few minutes before adding the other baskets.

How to avoid flavor mixing?

Use a different basket for each type of food. The separators allow stacking without direct contact. For best results, cook strong-flavored foods (fish, vegetables) in separate baskets.

Is the rice bowl provided?

Yes, a rice bowl is included. To cook rice, place rice and water in the bowl (1 part rice to 1.5 parts water) and place it in a basket.

How to clean the appliance?

Unplug the appliance and let it cool. Clean the motor base with a damp cloth without immersing it. Baskets, separators, lid and rice bowl can be hand washed (preferably) or in the dishwasher.

Can I put the baskets in the dishwasher?

It is recommended to hand wash them to prolong their life, but dishwasher washing is still possible.

What should I do if the appliance stops during cooking?

The automatic shut-off triggers if the water level is too low. Check the tank and refill through the handle hole if necessary. The appliance will restart after resetting the timer.

Can I use flavors in the water?

No, use only clear water. Adding flavors may damage the appliance and alter food flavors.

Is the appliance suitable for children?

This appliance should not be used by children under 8 years old. Older children must be supervised. Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children under 8.

The following are important notes on the installation, use and maintenance; save this instruction manual for future reference; use the equipment only as specified in this guide; any other use is considered improper and dangerous; therefore, the manufacturer cannot be held responsible in the event of damages caused by improper, incorrect or unreasonable use.

Before use, ensure the equipment is undamaged; if in doubt, do not attempt to use it and contact the authorized service center; do not leave packing materials (i.e. plastic bags, polystyrene foam, nails, staples, etc.) within the reach of children as they are potential sources of danger; always remember that they must be separately collected. Make sure that the rating information given on the technical label are compatible with those of the electricity grid; the installation must be performed according to the manufacturer's instructions considering the maximum power of the appliance as shown on the label; an incorrect installation may cause damage to people, animals or things, for which the manufacturer cannot be considered responsible thereof.

If it is necessary to use adapters, multiple sockets or

electrical extensions, use only those that comply with current safety standards; in any case do not exceed the power consumption limits indicated on the electrical adapter and / or extensions, as well as the maximum power shown on multiple adaptor.

Cleaning operations should be carried out after unplugging the unit.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Appliance becomes hot during use; do not touch cooking containers. Do not move if contians hot food or water.

Before cleaning disconnect the power plug and wait for complete cooling of all parts of appliance.

AT FIRST USE - At first use wash well all containers, accessories and lid, and dry them.

FUNCTIONING

Pour water in container (2). Fill to maximum level (MAX).

WARNING: use only water. Do not use other liquids and do not put flavourers in water.

Mount the heater cover at the center of water container.

Mount container 1 (4) on the housing (2). Insert food in the container.

If you don't have to cook more food, put the lid (9) over the container (4).

If you have to cook other food, place separator 1 (5) on the container (4) and the container 2 (6) on the separator (5). Repeat same operation if you need to mount also the third container.

Always cover the last level with the lid (9).

Make the cooking start, and set the desired time with the Timer (1).

COOKING

Is better to not cook different foods in the same container, as the flavors can mix each other. Therefore we suggest to put different foods in different containers. If you cook different foods, place the one with longer cooking time at the lowest level and start cooking for some minutes. After this mount the other containers with the foods having shorter cooking, and restart cooking. RICE: to cook rice, put rice and water in the rice container (10). For each part of rice, put in the contain 1.5 parts of water.

During cooking periodically control the water level and eventually refill water through the hole in the handle (3). Appliance automatically switches off, if water in container is finished.

CLEANING - Unplug the unit and wait until the complete cooling down of each part before starting cleaning operations.

Do not immerse the product in water. In any case, prevent splashes of water or other liquids from reaching those parts. Clean the housing with a damp cloth. After every use remove water from container (2)

Containers, lid and accessories can be washed as normal dishes. Is suggested to wash by hand and not in dishwasher, to make life of these parts longer.
