How to clean the grill plate after use?

Unplug the appliance and let it cool completely (at least 30 minutes). Clean the plates with a damp cloth. Never immerse the appliance in water or use abrasive objects to avoid damaging the non-stick coating.

Why is there smoke and smell during first use?

This is normal. It is the burning off of manufacturing residues. Let the appliance heat empty for a few minutes in a well-ventilated area before first use.

Can frozen foods be used on the grill?

No, it is not recommended to use frozen foods. Always thaw food before grilling for even cooking and to avoid damaging the coating.

How to adjust the temperature?

Turn the thermostat (4) to the desired setting. The indicator light turns off when the temperature is reached. You can then place the food on the plates.

The appliance is not heating up, what to do?

Check that the appliance is plugged into a functional 230V outlet. Make sure the thermostat is set to a temperature. If the problem persists, contact your point of sale. Do not attempt to repair the appliance yourself.

How to store the appliance after use?

Close the appliance, lock it with the locking button (6) and unplug it. Let it cool completely before storing. Store it in a dry place, away from dust.

What is the maximum thickness of food?

The automatic thickness adjustment allows cooking food up to 3 cm thick. Beyond that, the appliance may not close properly.

Can metal utensils be used on the plates?

No, only use utensils made of wood, silicone, or heat-resistant plastic. Sharp or metal objects scratch the non-stick coating.

How to avoid burns during use?

Only touch the Cool Touch handle (1) and the thermostat (4). Surfaces become very hot. Keep children away and use oven mitts if necessary.

1. SAFETY PRESCRIPTIONS

This appliance has been built in accordance with the European CE safety standards and is compliant with the general recognized standards and prescriptions with regard to the safety of appliances. As for all electrical appliances, the necessary precautions need to be taken in order to avoid accidents or damages.

Attention! Burning danger! When using this appliance, certain surfaces will get. Only touch the handle or the thermostat button while the appliance is in use.
- Attention! Even after switching off the appliance, some surfaces will remain hot for some time, causing the risk of burns. ALWAYS let the appliance cool off entirely before moving, cleaning or storing it.
- This appliance may be used by children of min. 8 years old, by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge they are supervised and instructed to use the appliance in a safe way and ur the hazards involved. Children may not play with the appliance. Cleaning ar maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 year supervised. Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children less than 8 years.
- The appliance is only intended for household use and similar applications, excluding: staff kitchens in shops, offices and other work environments; farms; clients motels and other residential environments; bed & breakfast environments.
- NEVER touch the control button, electrical power cord and plug with wet hands. NEVER immerse the appliance, the power cord or the plug in water or any liquid. They are only to be cleaned with a damp cloth. In case the appliance does get wet or moist, immediately disconnect the plug from the power socket.

2. DESCRIPTION PARTS

The distance between the plates is automatically adjusted (0-3cm) according to the thickness of the food.

3. BEFORE THE FIRST USE

• Check if the mains voltage of your appliance (230 Volt) corresponds with the mains voltage in your home.
• Remove all packagings and stickers.
• The appliance is now ready for use.
• ATTENTION: While warming up the appliance, it must ALWAYS be in closed position.
• ATTENTION: Upon the first use, there might be a slight odour or smoke output. This is normal.

4. START TO GRILL

- Completely unroll the power cord, and plug in the appliance in a 230 V socket.

• (5) lights up when you plug in the appliance.
- Then turn the thermostat (4) onto the chosen position.
- ATTENTION: the appliance will now get hot. Only touch the thermostat (4) and the handles.
• (5) goes off as soon as the chosen temperature has been reached.
- You can now add the toast, panini, steak, ... ATTENTION: do not use frozen food!
- Place the grease collector (3) in front of the appliance in the space provided.
- Do not use sharp utensils to (re)move the food as they could damage the non-stick coating of the plates.
- Close the appliance after use, lock it by means of the slider (6) and pull out the plug.
- Let the appliance cool off for at least 30 minutes.

5. CLEANING

• Pull the plug from the socket.
• Let the appliance cool off entirely before removing the plates (3) by means of the push button (7).
• The base and the housing of the appliance can be cleaned with a damp cloth. NEVER immerse these parts in water or in any other liquid.

6. USEFUL TIPS IN CASE OF MALFUNCTIONS

Do not use the appliance in case of a malfunction. First go through the following:

The appliance doesn't warm or the control lamps don't light up:

• Check if your appliance is connected to the right mains voltage, whether there is mains voltage, and if the appliance was plugged in correctly.
• If there is still a malfunction, please return the appliance to your sales point.
• If the power cord is damaged, don't use your appliance and return it to your sales point immediately.

THE APPLIANCE HAS BEEN DESIGNED FOR DOMESTIC USE. THE WARRANTY CONDITIONS EXPIRE UPON PROFESSIONAL USE.

DEFECTS AND/OR DAMAGES FOLLOWING TO THE NON OBSERVANCE OF THE USER MANUAL ARE NOT COVERED BY THE WARRANTY.

7. WARRANTY CONDITIONS

The legal warranty is valid from the date of purchase. The proof of purchase determines the date of purchase. The duration and conditions of the warranty depend on the national legislation of the country of purchase. If you have a defective appliance, contact your seller with your proof of purchase.

The user is responsible for cleaning and proper packaging of the defective appliance before presenting it for repair. It is insufficient to wrap the device in cardboard packaging with paper. Fritel is not liable for damage resulting from insufficient packaging, which also irrevocably invalidates the warranty.

Determination of the warranty:

• The warranty covers every repair and/or replacement free of charge of the parts recognized defective by our technical department and if the damage is due to faulty manufacture, construction or material. The knives are not covered by the guarantee, as they are subject to wear and tear.
• The warranty is only valid for the first/original user.

• The transport costs, in case of reparation, are at the expenses of the purchaser.

• The warranty is only granted after presentation of your purchase invoice.

• The warranty cannot be invoked for normal wear and tear.

The warranty expires in the following cases:

• Incorrect connection, e.g. electric voltages.
• Abnormal or professional use or misuse handling.
• In case of insufficient packaging and bad transport in case of return shipping.
• Lack of care and cleaning.
• Modifications or repairs made to the appliance by persons not authorized by us as a manufacturer.
• When reference numbers have been altered or been removed.
• For faults not due to the appliance itself, but to an external cause, collision, damage, fire, earthquake, flood, lightning, etc.
• When not respecting the instructions in the user instructions.

For appliances that are not under warranty for any of the above reasons, all costs (transport, administration, research, handling) will be charged.

8. ENVIRONMENT

Do not throw the appliance away with the normal household waste at the end of its life, but hand it in at an official collection point for recycling. By doing this you will help to preserve the environment.

All liabilities, towards both consumer(s) and third parties, that could result from not observing all the safety regulations prescribed in this user manual, can under no circumstances be charged to the manufacturer. In case of non-observance of these safety regulations, the user of the appliance, or any other person not having observed these safety regulations, protects the manufacturer from all responsibilities that he could be charged with.
