Frequently Asked Questions - Eliros Moonphase Maurice Lacroix

How do I adjust the moon phases on my Eliros Moonphase watch?
To adjust the moon phase, pull the crown to position 2 (stop seconds), then turn it clockwise until the indicator shows the exact full moon. Then push the crown back to position 1 to set the current date, then to position 0. For a caliber ML37, use the dedicated corrector (VII) until the full moon is displayed, then press as many times as the number of days since the last full moon.
How do I manually wind a Maurice Lacroix automatic watch?
If the watch has not been worn for 24 hours or more, wind it by turning the crown in position 0 (not pulled out) clockwise about twenty turns. This is enough to restart the mechanism.
Is my watch water-resistant?
The Eliros Moonphase watch is water-resistant up to 3 ATM (30 meters). This means it resists splashes and rain, but not swimming or diving. Water resistance is not permanent: have it checked regularly.
Can I change the battery myself?
No, it is strongly recommended to have the battery replaced by an authorized Maurice Lacroix service center. Unauthorized intervention voids the warranty and may damage the movement.
How do I set the date and day?
Pull the crown to position 1. Turn it one way for the date, the other way for the day (depending on caliber). Caution: do not set the date between 8 PM and 4 AM for automatic watches, as this may damage the mechanism.
Does my watch have a chronograph?
The Eliros Moonphase model does not have a chronograph function. It displays hours, minutes, seconds, date, day, and moon phases.
How do I maintain my watch?
Clean the metal or rubber case with a soft toothbrush and soapy water, then dry with a soft cloth. Leather straps should be protected from water, grease, and sunlight. Avoid magnetic fields and shocks.
What should I do if the second hand jumps every 4 seconds?
This is the battery end-of-life function. Replace the battery immediately at an authorized center to avoid any damage.
What is the duration of the warranty?
The Maurice Lacroix international warranty is 2 years from the date of purchase. It covers manufacturing defects, but not damage due to improper use (shocks, water, etc.) nor wear parts such as strap, glass, or battery.
How do I protect my watch from magnetic fields?
Avoid placing your watch near magnets, mobile phones, speakers, or any device generating a strong magnetic field. These can disturb the accuracy of the movement.

1. INTERNATIONAL WARRANTY

1.1 LIMITED INTERNATIONAL WARRANTY FOR MAURICE LACROIX WATCHES (VALID IN ALL COUNTRIES EXCEPT FOR THE U.S.A. AND THE CARIBBEAN)

This limited warranty (hereinafter referred to as: the warranty) is extended by the manufacturer, Maurice Lacroix SA, Rue des Rangiers 21, CH-2350 Saignelégier (Switzerland). The limitations to the warranty are detailed below. Your Maurice Lacroix watch was manufactured using only quality materials and applying stringent production standards. Like all Maurice Lacroix watches, it was subjected to an individual quality control and complied with the demanding quality requirements stipulated by Maurice Lacroix SA.

For this reason, Maurice Lacroix SA extends a guarantee covering all manufacturing defects for a period of two (2) years from the date of purchase.

This warranty entitles you to claim for the repair of all production defects arising during

the period of warranty, on condition that they are communicated without delay. In addition, the watch may be replaced at the manufacturer's discretion.

You can claim your entitlement under this manufacturer warranty from any authorised Maurice Lacroix retailer, from any Maurice Lacroix representative or any regional service centre, or directly from Maurice Lacroix SA.

WARRANTY RESTRICTION

Please note that your international Maurice Lacroix warranty is only valid if your returned watch is accompanied by the Warranty Certificate located at the beginning of this manual. This Warranty Certificate must be completed in every part and signed by the authorised Maurice Lacroix retailer where you bought your watch. This Warranty Certificate must bear the serial number and the reference number of the watch and the exact date of purchase. It must also bear the stamp and signature of the authorised Maurice Lacroix retailer.

This warranty does not cover the crystal, leather straps, or any damage caused by inappropriate use, such as sharp knocks, extreme heat or cold, or strong magnetic fields. Any repair or maintenance work carried out by unauthorized persons shall also automatically make this warranty null and void. In addition, this warranty does not cover the batteries that operate the quartz mechanism. Your watch is guaranteed to be water-resistant for a period of two (2) years from the date of purchase, on condition that the crystal, face, case, and crown are all undamaged.

Your attention is drawn expressly to the fact that Maurice Lacroix watches are not suitable for use while practicing extreme sports.

APPLICABLE LAW AND OTHER RIGHTS

This manufacturer warranty gives you specific legal rights; in addition to these, you may also have other rights on the basis of irrevocable provisions established by other national laws, which may vary from country to country, according to the law applicable at the time and in the place where your watch was purchased.

In addition, this warranty does nothing to alter your rights with regard to the authorized Maurice Lacroix retailer from whom you purchased your watch, under which you may be entitled to claim as a consequence of the applicable national law governing the sale of consumer goods.

EXCLUSION AND RESTRICTION OF OTHER WARRANTIES

Insofar as allowed under current law, Maurice Lacroix SA excludes all and any other express or implied warranties. All implied warranties, i.e. including, though not exclusively, any implied warranty covering the relative characteristics for merchantability or a specific application, as may be imposed under a country's legislation, shall be limited to a duration of two (2) years. Some countries do not allow any limitation on the duration of an implied warranty, in which case the restriction in this clause may not apply to you.

EXCLUSION OF LIABILITY FOR

CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES

As far as applicable law allows, Maurice Lacroix SA or the authorized Maurice Lacroix retailers shall under no circumstances be liable to the purchaser or to any other persons for individual, consequential, or incidental damages of any kind (including, but not limited to, loss of income or business or any other economic damage) that may arise out of a breach of the warranty, a breach of contract, or otherwise, even if Maurice Lacroix SA has been informed about such a possibility.

Any recovery against Maurice Lacroix SA or the authorized Maurice Lacroix retailer shall in any case be limited expressly to the purchase price of the watch, regardless of whether the said recovery is based on the clauses of this warranty or on legal provisions. Some countries do not allow the limitation or exclusion of liability for incidental or consequential damages, in which case the limitations and exclusions in this clause may not apply to you.

The watch is guaranteed for two years from the date of purchase in accordance with the conditions given in the instructions manual. For Service Centre information please refer to the official homepage:

5. SPECIAL RECOMMENDATIONS AND PRODUCT CARE

MAGNETIC FIELDS

So as not to affect the running of your watch, avoid placing it near magnetic fields created by objects such as magnets, mobile phones, speakers, etc.

SHOCKS

Avoid all types of shocks, whether physical, thermal or other.

TEMPERATURE

Avoid exposing your watch to extreme temperatures (over 60°C or 140°F and under 0°C or 32°F) or to sudden fluctuations in temperature.

SALT-WATER

Always rinse your watch with clear and fresh water afterwards.

CHEMICAL PRODUCTS

Avoid all direct contact with all chemical products, solvents, detergents, perfumes, cosmetics, etc. which may damage the leather strap, the bracelet or the case.

ANTI-REFLECTIVE TREATMENT

The anti-reflective treatment of the sapphire crystal glass improves the visibility of the dial of the watch. Everyday wear can cause marks to appear (scratches, chips, etc.). These are considered normal and are not covered by the warranty.

CLEANING

Use a toothbrush and soapy water to clean metal bracelets, rubber straps and water-resistant cases and a soft cloth to dry them off afterwards.

LEATHER STRAPS

Protect leather straps from grease, water and humidity and avoid excessive exposure to sunlight.

BATTERIES

We recommend that you contact an official Maurice Lacroix service centre or official Maurice Lacroix retailer, as they are equipped with the tools and apparatus required to carry out the work and the necessary checks in a professional manner. A worn-out battery should be replaced immediately in order to reduce the risk of leakage and consequent damage to the movement.

WHAT ARE THE SERVICE INTERVALS?

Like all micro-mechanical precision instruments, your watch should be serviced regularly to ensure that it runs perfectly. We cannot say how often you should have your watch serviced as this depends on the model, the climate where you live and how you look after the watch yourself. As a rule, a watch should be serviced every 4-5 years, depending on the conditions in which it is worn.

ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION*

This symbol indicates that this product should not be disposed of with household waste. It has to be returned to a local authorised collection system. By following this procedure you will contribute to the protection of the environment and human health. The recycling of the materials will help to conserve natural resources.

Maurice Lacroix Eliros Moonphase - ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION* - 1

* Valid in the EU member states and in any countries with corresponding legislation.

WATER-RESISTANCE

The water-resistance cannot be guaranteed permanently. Everyday wear, ageing of seals or accidental shocks adversely affect the water-resistance of the watch. We recommend that you have the water-resistance

of your watch checked regularly by an official Maurice Lacroix service centre.

All Maurice Lacroix watches are water-resistant to at least 3 ATM.

Metres (m)Feat (ft)Atmosphere (ATM)
30 98.5 3----
50 164 5----
100 328 10√ √√ √-
300 984 30√ √√ √ √
600 196 8 60√ √√ √ √

* The values given in feet or metres of immersion in water are equivalent to the measurement of pressure applied in tests according to the ISO 22810 standard.

6. KEY WORDS

Screw-in crown:

Some watches — usually those water-resistant to more than 5 ATM — can have a screw-in crown. Before being able to make any adjustments (change the date, set the time, etc.) the crown has to be unscrewed. To do so, please proceed as follows:

Maurice Lacroix Eliros Moonphase - KEY WORDS - 1

Power reserve indicator:

Some automatic watches have a power reserve indicator. If the watch is worn rarely or not at all the power reserve indicator will gradually decrease. When the watch is wound or worn the power reserve indicator will gradually increase.

End Of Life (EOL) function:

EOL function only features on some quartz movements and indicates the end of battery life. If the second hand starts to jump every 4 seconds, we recommend that you replace the battery immediately.

Tachymeter or tachymiler scale:

Some dials feature a tachymeter scale: it measures speed (in km per hour) for a covered distance of 1 km or 1 mile.

Example: 1000 meters covered in 45 seconds corresponds to a speed of 80km per hour.

Carat:

The weight of a diamond is measured in carats, one carat being equal to 0.20 gram.
