Frequently Asked Questions - Frutelia Pro ZE4501 TEFAL

How to start the juice extractor?
Assemble the appliance following the steps (collector, filter, lid, clamp). Plug it in and turn the control knob (I) to speed 1 or 2. Only insert fruits/vegetables when the motor is running.
Which fruits and vegetables can be used?
The appliance is suitable for apples, pears, oranges, grapefruits, pineapples, carrots, cucumbers, tomatoes, beets, celery, etc. It is not recommended for bananas, avocados, figs, strawberries. Peel thick-skinned fruits (citrus, pineapple).
How to clean the appliance after use?
Clean immediately. All removable parts (pusher, chute, lid, filter, juice collector, pulp collector, juice jug) are dishwasher safe. The juice collector (E) can be cleaned with soapy water. Wipe the motor block with a damp cloth, never immerse it. Handle the filter with care, its edges are sharp.
What to do if juice flow decreases?
This means the filter is clogged. Turn off the appliance, wait for it to stop completely, then clean the chute and filter. Also empty the pulp collector if full.
The appliance does not start, what to check?
Check that the plug is connected and the control knob is on a speed (1 or 2). Ensure the lid (C) is correctly locked by the locking clamp (H) and properly positioned in the grooves.
Are there usage time limits?
Yes, it is recommended not to use the appliance for more than 2 consecutive minutes. For hard ingredients (like sugarcane), do not exceed 20 consecutive seconds.
Can I leave whole fruits without cutting?
Yes, thanks to the Direct Fruit system, fruits and vegetables with a diameter less than 72 mm (apples, pears, tomatoes) can be inserted whole. For larger ones, cut them into pieces.
How to store the extracted juice?
It is recommended to consume the juice immediately after extraction. Contact with air causes rapid oxidation, affecting taste, color, and nutritional qualities. Add a few drops of lemon juice to slow browning (especially for apples and pears).
What to do if the appliance smells or smokes?
This may be due to a mispositioned filter or excessive ingredients. Turn off immediately, check that the filter is correctly fixed on the drive shaft (J) and reduce quantities. If the problem persists, contact an authorized service center.
Where to find spare parts?
Spare parts (filter, pusher, jug, etc.) are available from Tefal authorized service centers. Use only original accessories. The filter must be replaced as soon as it shows signs of wear or damage.

This appliance is fitted with a safety mechanism. To start the juice machine, the cover (C) must be properly secured by the safety clamp (H). Opening the safety clamp (H) will stop the juice machine. At the end of a cycle, place the control switch (I) to 0 and wait until the sieve (D) stops completely before removing the cover.

BEFORE FIRST USE

  • We recommend that you wash all the removable parts (A, B, C, D, E, G, L, M) in warm soapy water (see paragraph "Cleaning"). Rinse and dry them carefully.
  • Unpack the appliance and place it on a solid, stable work surface.
  • Ensure that all packaging has been removed before starting the appliance.

USING THE APPLIANCE

  • Place the juice collector (E) on the body of the appliance (see Fig. 1).
  • Place the sieve (D) in the juice collector (E). Ensure that the sieve is properly clipped onto the drive shaft (J). You can hear an audible click when the sieve is positioned correctly (see Fig. 2).
  • Fit the pulp collector (G) on the rear of the appliance (see Fig. 3).
  • Fit the cover (C) on the appliance, spout to the rear (see Fig. 4).

  • The juice jug cover (L) has a foam separator that keeps the foam in the jug (M) when you pour the juice into a glass. If you do not want to separate the foam, remove the cover.
  • Place the juice jug (M) under the pouring spout in front of the appliance (see Fig. 6).
  • Plug in the appliance.
  • To start the appliance, use the control switch (I).

WHICH SPEED TO USE?

Ingredients SpeedApprox. weight (in kg)Quantity of juice obtained in ml (*)
Apples 2 1650
Pears 2 1600
Carrots 2 1600
Cucumbers 11 (about 2 cucumbers) 600
Pineapple 2 1300
Grapes 11450
Tomatoes 11,5900
Celery2 1,5350
Choosing the wrong speed may cause the appliance to vibrate abnormally.

It is recommended that you use the appliance for no more than 2 minutes continuously.

* The quality and quantity of juice varies greatly according to the freshness when harvested and the particular variety of fruit or vegetable. The quantities of juice indicated above are therefore approximate.

PRACTICAL TIPS

  • Wash the fruit carefully before stoning.
  • In general, you do not need to remove the skin or peel. You only need to peel fruit with thick and bitter skin, like lemon, orange, grapefruit or pineapple (for pineapple remove the centre core).
  • Certain types of fruit like apples, pears, tomatoes etc. (with a diameter less than 72 mm) will fit in the feed tube whole, thanks to the “Direct Fruit System”. So choose the appropriate size of fruit or vegetable.
  • It is difficult to extract juice from bananas, avocados, blackberries, figs, aubergines and strawberries.
  • Choose fresh, ripe fruit and vegetables, they will yield more juice. This appliance is suitable for such fruits as apples, pears, oranges, grapes, pomegranates and pineapple and such vegetables as carrots, cucumbers, tomatoes, beetroot and celery.
  • If you use overripe fruits, the sieve will get clogged more quickly and less juice will be extracted.
  • Important: All juice must be consumed immediately. On contact with air, it is very quickly oxidised, which can change its taste, colour and nutritional value. Apple and pear juices quickly turn brown. Add a few drops of lemon juice to slow this discoloration.

CLEANING

  • All removable parts (A, B, C, D, G, L and M) are dishwasher-safe. The juice collector (E) must be cleaned straight after use in warm water and washing-up liquid.
  • This appliance is easier to clean immediately after use.
  • Do not use abrasive sponge, acetone, alcohol (white spirit), etc. to clean the appliance.
  • The sieve must be handled with care. Avoid any mishandling that may affect the performance of the appliance. Replace your sieve at the first sign of wear or damage.
  • Clean the motor unit with a damp cloth. Dry carefully.
  • Never immerse the motor unit under running water.
    • After use, the juice jug (M) can be stored in the pulp collector.
