Observe the following to prevent overload:

  • Add the total wattage of all electrical devices to be connected at one time. This total should NOT be greater than the Power Station's wattage capacity.
  • The rated wattage of lights can be taken from light bulbs. The rated wattage of tools, appliances, and motors can be found on a data label or decal affixed to the device.
  • If the appliance, tool, or motor does not give wattage, multiply volts times ampere rating to determine watts (volts x amps = watts).
  • Some electric motors, such as induction types, require approximately three times more watts of power for starting than for running. This surge of power lasts only a few seconds when starting such motors. Make sure to allow for high starting wattage when selecting electrical devices to con- nect to the Power Station:

1. Calculate the watts needed to start the

2. Add the starting watts to the running watts

of all other connected loads. The Wattage Reference Guide is provided to assist in determining how many items the Power Station can operate at one time. NOTE: All figures are approximate. Using the Power Station (Discharging) Starting the Power Station NOTE: If using only one, or all three AC receptacle(s), the load must not exceed 13.3A current, 1600 watts of power.

1. Confirm the device or equipment requiring

2. Press and hold ON/OFF button for three

(3) seconds to turn unit ON.

3. Connect equipment.

– AC Power - Turn ON AC power switch. – DC Power (USB/vehicle charging) - Turn ON DC power switch. NOTE: Power Station will automatically turn off after 60 minutes if not in use. Charging the Power Station IMPORTANT NOTE: Always use the charging cord(s) supplied with the unit. NOTE: The ambient temperature for product use should be between 0 °C to 40 °C (32 °F to 104 °F). Place the Power Station on a clean, dry, level surface. The Power Station can be charged three (3) separate ways.

1. See Figure 3-1. AC Power Supply - Insert

AC charging cord from the AC charging port to the wall electrical outlet. Figure 3-1. AC Wall Charging

2. See Figure 3-2. Solar Panels - Insert DC

charging cord from the solar panel into the DC charger port. NOTE: Charging time is dependent on the solar panel power and light intensity. (000752) WARNING Injury and equipment damage. The use of non-Generac equipment could result in unit damage, death or serious injury. 0139068 Owner’s Manual for Power Station NOTE: Confirm the solar panel is compatible with the power station before connecting the solar panel. Power stations support 10- 28VDC, 30A max, up to 468W of solar input. Solar panels not meeting these requirements may damage the power station. Figure 3-2. Solar Charging

3. See Figure 3-3. Car Charging - Insert DC

charging cord from the car power supply into the DC charger port. NOTE: Car charging the power station will drain the vehicles battery. It is recommended to only charge the power station while the vehicle is running to prevent depletion of the vehicle’s battery. NOTE: Always disconnect the power station when the vehicle is turned off. Figure 3-3. Car Charging Simultaneous Charge Inputs Power Stations are compatible with simultane- ous AC and DC charge inputs (example: solar + generator). The charging input reference guide provides suggested charge input power range. NOTE: Exceeding suggested charge input power can reduce battery life. Pass-Through Charging Power Stations support simultaneous charging and discharging of the battery during operation. NOTE: This device is not designed to be used as a UPS (Uninterrupted Power Supply). NOTE: Pass-through charging can reduce battery life. Parallel Connection

  • The rated power of equipment should not exceed the total rated power of parallel products.
  • Only use with compatible Power Stations and Generac Portable Inverter Generators. See parallel kit manual for complete list of compatible devices.
  • The use of non-Generac equipment could cause unit damage or personal injury.
  • Connect parallel devices before turning the power ON.
  • Turn the power OFF before disconnecting parallel devices. Paralleling two Power Stations provides almost twice the power.

1. See Figure 3-4. Insert the parallel plugs

from the parallel box into the Power Sta- tions.

3. Press AC button on the Power Stations.

4. Plug electrical equipment into the AC out-

lets. Turn ON equipment. NOTE: If a fault occurs, the AC power will turn off and the fault light will flash for 10 seconds. NOTE: AC and DC Power Station outlets can be used at the same time as the parallel kit although output is limited to the Power Sta- tion’s rating. Figure 3-4. Section 4 Maintenance and Troubleshooting

  • Use a damp cloth with mild soap to wipe exterior surfaces clean. NOTE: Avoid cleaning solvents harmful to plastics to prevent damage to the power sta- tion.
  • Visually inspect unit to ensure vents are clear before each use.
  • Clean dust and debris from vent(s) with a clean cloth before each use.
  • Discharge and charge battery once every three (3) months. See Using the Power Sta- tion (Discharging).
  • Charge the Power Station as soon as the display reads 20% state of charge or less. Storage
  • Store unit in a clean, dry, ventilated area.
  • Store at an optimal temperature of 59°F - 77°F (15°C - 25°C) and a max temperature of -4°F - 113°F (-20°C - 45°C).
  • The Power Station should be between 30- 60% state of charge for long term storage. Recharge every three (3) months to main- tain battery life. Disposal Contact an IASD to return Power Station for disposal. FAQ Q: Why does the power station show power output when I don’t have anything plugged in? A: The power station uses power for the dis- play, fans, inverter, etc. Power usage is shown on the LCD display for user aware- ness. Q: Can the GB1000/GB2000 be discharged at the same time it is charging? A: Yes, both models can be simultaneously charged and discharged. NOTE: Pass-through charging can reduce battery life. Q: How do I estimate the operating time for a device? A: Estimated operating time (hrs) = Capacity (Wh) * 0.8 / Device Load (W). Q: Can I use the GB1000/GB2000 outside? A: Yes, both models are rated for temporary outdoor use. NOTE: The power stations should NOT be exposed to rain or moisture. Q: How do I silence the beeping sound when pressing buttons? A: Hold the DISPLAY button for five (5) sec- onds. Troubleshooting
