The assembly instruc- tions and instructions for use are a part of this product. They contain important information about safety, use and disposal. RISK OF ACCIDENT AND
DANGER TO LIFE FOR INFANTS AND CHILD REN! There is a risk of suffocation! Keep the packaging material out of the reach of children and away from animals. This product may be used by children aged 8 years and up, as well as by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capacities or lacking experience and knowledge, so long as they are super- vised or instructed in the safe use of the product and understand the associated risks. Do not allow children to play with the product. Cleaning and user maintenance must not be performed by children without supervision. Do not expose the product to weather effects. The product may otherwise be damaged.12 GB/IE/NI Do not expose the product to direct sunlight. Do not place it above heaters. The product’s wax may otherwise soften and lose its shape, resulting in malfunctions. The LED is not replaceable. If the LED fails at the end of its life, the entire product must be replaced. Do not stand the product on valuable or sensitive surfaces without appropriate protection. Otherwise the surface could become dam- aged by the product. RISK OF OVERHEATING! Do not operate the product inside the packaging. Safety instructions for batteries/ rechargeable batteries DANGER TO LIFE! Keep batteries/rechargeable batteries out of reach of children. If accidentally swallowed seek immediate medical attention. Swallowing may lead to burns, perforation of soft tissue, and death. Severe burns can occur within 2 hours of ingestion.13 GB/IE/NI DANGER OF EXPLOSION! Never recharge non- rechargeable batteries. Do not short-circuit batteries/ rechargeable batteries and/or open them. Overheat- ing, fire or bursting can be the result. Never throw batteries/rechargeable batteries into fire or water. Do not exert mechanical loads to batteries/rechargeable batteries. Risk of leakage of batteries/rechargeable batteries Avoid extreme environmental conditions and temperatures, which could affect batteries/rechargeable batteries, e.g. radiators/direct sunlight. If batteries/rechargeable batteries have leaked, avoid contact with skin, eyes and mucous membranes with the chemicals! Flush immediately the affected areas with fresh water and seek medical attention! WEAR PROTECTIVE GLOVES! Leaked or damaged batteries/rechargeable batteries can cause burns on contact with the skin. Wear suitable protective gloves at all times if such an event occurs. In the event of a leakage of batteries/rechargeable batteries, immediately remove them from the product to prevent damage.14 GB/IE/NI Only use the same type of batteries/rechargeable batteries. Do not mix used and new batteries/rechargeable batteries. Remove batteries/rechargeable batteries if the product will not be used for a longer period. Risk of damage of the product Only use the specified type of battery/rechargeable battery! Insert batteries/rechargeable batteries according to polarity marks (+) and (-) on the battery/rechargeable battery and the product. Use a dry lint-free cloth or cotton swab to clean the contacts on the battery/rechargeable battery and in the battery compartment before inserting! Remove exhausted batteries/rechargeable batteries from the product immediately. Prior to first use Remove all product packaging. Protect delicate surfaces before you set up the product.15 GB/IE/NI Inserting/replacing the batteries If you notice the brightness of the LED
is fading, the batteries are too weak and must be replaced. Slide the ON/OFF/TIMER switch
at the bottom of the real wax LED candle
into the OFF position (Fig. B). Pull on the handle of the battery compartment cover
and this will open the battery compartment
If applicable, remove the old batteries from the battery compart- ment
and insert new batteries. Only use batteries of the type specified under “Technical data” in these instructions for use. When inserting the batteries, ensure the correct polarity. This is indicated in the battery compartment
Close the battery compartment
again. The product is now ready to use.16 GB/IE/NI Use The ON/OFF/TIMER switch
has three functions: Switch ON Slide the ON/OFF/TIMER switch
to the ON position to switch the product on. The LED
lights up and the simulated flame
to the OFF position to turn the product and the timer off permanently. Switch TIMER Slide the ON/OFF/TIMER switch
to the TIMER position to switch the timer function on. The product lights up continuously for 6 hours and then switches itself off for 18 hours. The product will then switch on again for 6 hours at the allocated time and then switch off for 18 hours. Note: If you slide the ON/OFF/TIMER switch
from the ON or OFF position to the TIMER position, the TIMER will start again17 GB/IE/NI with a new cycle. The product lights up continuously for 6 hours and then switches itself off for 18 hours. Cleaning and care Never immerse the product in water. Slide the ON/OFF/TIMER switch
into the OFF position and remove the batteries before cleaning the product. Replace the batteries after cleaning. Use a duster or brush when cleaning. Disposal The packaging is made entirely of recyclable materials, which you may dispose of at local recycling facilities. The product and packaging ma- terials are recyclable, dispose of it separately for better waste treatment.
Observe the marking of the packaging materials for waste separation, which are marked with abbreviations (a) and numbers (b) with following meaning: 1–7: plastics/20–22: paper and fibreboard/80–98: composite materials.18 GB/IE/NI Contact your local refuse disposal authority for more details of how to dispose of your worn-out product. To help protect the environment, please dispose of the p roduct properly when it has reached the end of its useful life and not in the household waste. Information on collection points and their opening hours can be obtained from your local authority. Faulty or used batteries/rechargeable batteries must be recycled in accordance with Directive 2006/66/EC and its amendments. Please return the batteries/rechargeable batteries and/or the product to the available collection points. Environmental damage through incorrect dis- posal of the batteries/ rechargeable batteries! Batteries/rechargeable batteries may not be disposed of with the usual domestic waste. They may contain toxic heavy metals and are subject to hazardous waste treatment rules and regulations. The chemical sym- bols for heavy metals are as follows: Cd = cadmium, Hg = mercury,19 GB/IE/NI Pb = lead. That is why you should dispose of used batteries/recharge- able batteries at a local collection point. Warranty and service Note: This product includes a 36-month warranty from the date of purchase. The product has been manufactured with care and thoroughly inspected prior to delivery. However, if defects in manufacturing or material arise during the warranty period, please contact your retailer immediately. The warranty does not cover damages due to improper handling, fail- ure to comply with the operating instructions, or manipulation by unau- thorised persons. Most malfunctions are caused by incorrect operation. Therefore please first refer to the operating instructions if a malfunction occurs. Shipments that are sent carriage forward will not be accepted.
