What to do if the soundbar does not turn on?

Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into the soundbar and a working wall outlet. Press the Power button on the remote or on top of the soundbar. If the problem persists, try another outlet or contact technical support.

How to connect the soundbar to my TV?

Use one of the supplied cables: optical digital, digital coaxial, or stereo 3.5 mm/RCA audio cable. Connect the cable to your TV's audio output and to the corresponding input on the soundbar. Press the Input button on the remote to select the correct source.

Why is there no sound from the soundbar?

Check that the soundbar is powered on and the volume is not at minimum or muted. Press Mute to unmute. Select the correct input using the Input button. If using a digital input, set your TV's audio output to PCM. Ensure the cable is firmly connected.

How to pair my phone via Bluetooth?

Press and hold the Bluetooth button on the soundbar or remote for 5 seconds. The LED indicators will scroll left to right. On your phone, enable Bluetooth and search for 'VIZIO S3820w'. Select it to pair. Once connected, the LEDs will stop flashing.

The subwoofer has no sound, what to do?

Check that the subwoofer is turned on (switch set to ON) and its LED is solid green. If the LED is blinking, the two devices are not paired. To re-pair, press the pairing button on the back of the subwoofer for 5 seconds, then do the same on the soundbar. The LEDs will blink rapidly, then become solid once paired.

The remote control does not work, what should I check?

Replace the batteries with new ones, observing polarity. Point the remote directly at the center of the soundbar. Remove any obstacles. If using Bluetooth, some buttons (e.g., Back) may not be compatible with the current application.

How to wall mount the soundbar?

Use the supplied wall brackets and drilling template. Attach the M4 x 10 screws to the back of the soundbar. Mark the locations on the wall using the template, then drill and insert anchors suitable for your wall (wood, drywall, or concrete). Attach the brackets to the wall and hang the soundbar.

What does the flashing of the LED indicators mean?

The LED indicators show the soundbar status. For example, a left-to-right sweep indicates the soundbar is in Bluetooth pairing mode. A slow blinking subwoofer LED indicates it is not paired. Refer to the 'LED Indicators' section in the manual for more details.

Can I use a USB drive to play music?

Yes, plug a USB drive containing audio files in .WAV format only into the USB port (5) on the back of the soundbar. Press the Input button until the USB input is selected. Playback is controlled via the Play/Pause, Next, and Previous buttons on the remote.

For the best surround sound experience, position the Sound Bar and Subwoofer as shown. The Sound Bar should be close to ear level. The Subwoofer should be placed in a corner of the room.

Remove the battery cover by gently sliding it away from the remote.

Turn your TV on, then press the Power button on the remote to turn the Sound Bar on.

Press the Input button to switch between audio sources. For example, if you connected your TV to Input 1, set the Sound Bar to Input 1.

Treble Levels	Two center LEDs indicate Treble level 0.	Press the TREBLE button then press the Next/Previous button to increase/decrease the treble level. The LED indicators will move to the right with increasing levels and to the left with decreasing levels.
Bass Levels	Two center LEDs indicate Bass level 0.	Press the BASS button then press the Next/Previous button to increase/decrease the bass level. The LED indicators will move to the right with increasing levels and to the left with decreasing levels.

RE-LINKING THE SUBWOOFER WITH SOUND BAR

Your Subwoofer has already been paired with your Sound Bar by VIZIO. However, you may need to pair the Subwoofer to the Sound Bar if there is no sound coming from the Subwoofer.

When the green LED on both the Sound Bar and Subwoofer are lit, the two are paired. A slow blink means the two are not paired.

What does pairing mean?

Pairing means to wirelessly connect.

First confirm that the power switch is in the ON position.

Press and hold the Pairing button on the back of the Subwoofer for 5 seconds. The LED on the back of the Subwoofer will blink rapidly.

Turn on the Sound Bar. Press and hold the Pairing button on the back of the Sound Bar for 5 Seconds. The LED on the back of the Sound Bar will blink rapidly. When the green LED on both the Sound Bar and Subwoofer are lit, the two are paired.

BLUETOOTH PAIRING

To pair the Sound Bar with a Bluetooth device:

1. Press and hold the Bluetooth button ✝ on the Sound Bar or the Bluetooth button ✝ on the remote for five (5) seconds. When the Sound Bar is in Bluetooth Pairing Mode, the LED Indicators on the Display Panel on the front of the Sound Bar will light sequentially from left to right and back again.

Once the device is paired, the LED Indicators will stop flashing.

1. You can now search for the Sound Bar (VIZIO S3821w) using your Bluetooth device. For more information, see the documentation that came with your device.
2. Play audio from your Bluetooth device. Volume can be controlled on your source device and the Sound Bar.

USING BLUETOOTH MODE

Your Sound Bar supports music streaming from smartphones, tablets, and computers with Bluetooth capability. Device compatibility will vary, see your device's documentation for more information. Once you have paired your source device to the Sound Bar, as long as you stay within range of the Sound Bar, your device should remain paired, even if you change the input on the Sound Bar.

Your Sound Bar is not equipped with a microphone, so it cannot operate as a hands-free device for a smartphone.

Maximizing Signal

A Bluetooth signal has a range of up to 30 feet. Keep in mind that Bluetooth is a compressed audio format, so streamed music may lose some integrity when compared to a wired connection.

Try the following if your sound quality is less than optimal:

• If you hear any break-up or disconnect while streaming music from your device, move the source device closer to the Sound Bar.
• Be sure that there are no solid obstructions in the line-of-sight between the Sound Bar and the source device.
• Other wireless devices can affect Bluetooth range, including wireless security cameras, wireless video baby monitors, cordless phones, and microwave ovens. Turning off or moving these devices may improve Bluetooth range.

Reduce the volume levels on your device and on the Sound Bar before pressing Play. High volume levels can damage your hearing.

ADVANCED SETUP

Connect up to five (5) different devices to the Sound Bar (devices shown are examples you can use any device).

To listen to a device, change the input source on the Sound Bar.

Optical, Coaxial, and 3.5mm cables transmit audio only. If connecting a video device, you will need a separate video connection from the device to your TV.

Defective Products must be sent to a VIZIO service center to obtain warranty service.
