Frequently Asked Questions - 38400 PROCTOR SILEX

How to adjust the temperature for golden crepes?
The temperature level adjusts from 1 (low) to 8 (high). For golden crepes, start at 4 and adjust if necessary. The indicator turns green when the temperature is reached.
What to do if crepes are too pale?
Increase the temperature level (e.g., to 5 or 6). Crepes that are too pale indicate insufficient heat.
What to do if crepes are too dark?
Reduce the temperature level (e.g., to 3 or 2). Excessively high heat burns the crepes.
How to clean the crepe maker?
Unplug and let it cool completely. Wipe the base with a damp cloth. The accessories (spatula, scraper, spoon) are dishwasher safe, top rack.
Can the cooking surface be cleaned with water?
Yes, wipe with a soft damp cloth. Never immerse the appliance, cord, or base in water.
Why is there an odor or smoke during first use?
This is normal. Preheat the appliance at 8 for 5 minutes to burn off manufacturing residues. The odor will then disappear.
How much batter to use for each crepe?
For a small crepe, use 1/2 cup (118 ml). For a large crepe, 3/4 cup (177 ml). Use the scraper to spread evenly.
Should the cooking surface be oiled or buttered?
Yes, spray cooking spray or add 1 teaspoon (5 g) of butter before each crepe to prevent sticking and for browning.
How to flip the crepe without tearing it?
Wait until the underside is slightly browned (1 to 2 min). Use the included spatula to gently lift and flip. Cook for another 1 min.
Does the appliance have a warranty?
Yes, a limited warranty of one year from the date of purchase. It covers defects in materials and workmanship. Keep your receipt.
