FOLDING STEP STOOL

Introduction

We congratulate you on the purchase of your new product. You have chosen a high quality product. Familiarise yourself with the product before using it for the first time. In addition, please carefully refer to the operating instructions and the safety advice below. Only use the product as instructed and only for the indicated field of application. Keep these instructions in a safe place. If you pass the product on to anyone else, please ensure that you also pass on all the documentation with it.

The product is not suitable for commercial purposes.

● Safety instructions

Warning, fall from the step stool.	Maximum total load
Refer to instruction manual/booklet.	Do not use the step stool on an unlevel or unfirm base.
Inspect the step stool after delivery. Before every use visually check the step stool is not damaged and is safe to use.Do not use a damaged step stool.	Do not overreach.
	Do not erect step stool on contaminated ground.

	Maximum number of users		Warning, electricity hazardIdentify any electrical risks in the work area, such as overhead lines or other exposed electrical equipment, and do not use the step stool where electrical risks occur.
	Do not ascend or descend unless you are facing the step stool.
	Avoid work that imposes a sideways load on step stools, such as side-on drilling through solid materials.
			Do not step off the side of step stool onto another surface.
	Do not carry equipment which is heavy or difficult to handle while using a step stool.		Open the step stool fully before use.
	Do not wear unsuitable footwear when climbing a step stool.		Use the ladder with restraint devices engaged only.
	Do not use the step stool if you are not fit enough.Certain medical conditions or medication, alcohol or drug abuse could make step stool use unsafe.		Step stools shall not be used as a leaning ladder unless it is designed to do so.

Do not spend long periods on a step stool without regular breaks (tiredness is a risk).	When positioning the step stool take into account risk of collision with the ladder e.g. from pedestrians, vehicles or doors. Secure doors (not fire exits) and windows where possible in the work area.
Ensure the step stool is suitable for the task.
Do not use the step stool if contaminated, e.g. with wet paint, mud, oil or snow.	Use non-conductive step stools for unavoidable live electrical work.
For professional use a risk assessment shall be carried out respecting the legislation in the country of use.	Do not modify the step stool design.
	Do not move a step stool while standing on it.

● Repair, maintenance and storage

- Repairs and maintenance shall be carried out by a competent person and be in accordance with the producer's instructions.

NOTE: A competent person is someone who has the skills to carry out repairs or maintenance, e.g. by a training by the manufacturer.

For repair and replacement of parts, e.g. feet, if necessary contact the producer or distributor.

• Step stools should be stored in accordance with the producer's instructions.
  ■ Step stools made of or using thermoplastic, thermosetting plastic and reinforced plastic materials should be stored out of direct sunlight.
  ■ Step stools made of wood should be stored in a dry place and shall not be coated with opaque and vapour-tight paints.

● List of items to be inspected

For regular inspection, the following items shall be taken into account:

1. Check that the stiles/legs (uprights) are not bent, bowed, twisted, dented, cracked, corroded or rotten.

2. Check that the stiles/legs around the fixing points for other components are in good condition.

3. Check that fixings (usually rivets, screws or bolts) are not missing, loose, or corroded.

4. Check that rungs/steps are not missing, loose, excessively worn, corroded or damaged.

5. Check that the hinges between front and rear sections are not damaged, loose or corroded.

6. Check that the locking stays horizontal, back rails and corner braces are not missing, bent, loose, corroded or damaged.

7. Check that the rung hooks are not missing, damaged, loose or corroded and engage properly on the rungs.

8. Check that guide brackets are not missing, damaged, loose or corroded and engage properly on the mating stile.

9. Check that ladder feet/end caps are not missing, loose, excessively worn, corroded or damaged.

10. Check that the entire ladder is free from contaminants (e.g. dirt, mud, paint, oil or grease).

11. Check that locking catches (if fitted) are not damaged or corroded and function correctly.

12. Check that the platform (if fitted) has no missing parts or fixings and is not damaged or corroded.

13. If any of the above checks cannot be fully satisfied, you should NOT use the ladder.

● Disposal

The packaging is made entirely of recyclable materials, which you may dispose of at local recycling facilities.

Contact your local refuse disposal authority for more details of how to dispose of your worn-out product.

Warranty

The product has been manufactured to strict quality guidelines and meticulously examined before delivery. In the event of product defects you have legal rights against the retailer of this product. Your legal rights are not limited in any way by our warranty detailed below.

The warranty for this product is 3 years from the date of purchase. Should this product show any fault in materials or manufacture within 3 years from the date of purchase, we will repair or replace it - at our choice - free of charge to you.

The warranty period begins on the date of purchase. Please keep the original sales receipt in a safe location. This document is required as your proof of purchase. This warranty becomes void if the product has been damaged, or used or maintained improperly.

The warranty applies to defects in material or manufacture. This warranty does not cover product parts subject to normal wear, thus possibly considered consumables (e.g. batteries) or for damage to fragile parts, e.g. switches, rechargeable batteries or glass parts. Service

To ensure quick processing of your case, please observe the following instructions:

Please have the till receipt and the item number (e.g. IAN 123456_7890) available as proof of purchase.

You will find the item number on the rating plate, an engraving, on the front page of the instructions for use (bottom left), or as a sticker on the rear or bottom of the product.

If functional or other defects occur, please contact the service department listed either by telephone or by e-mail.

You can return a defective product to us free of charge to the service address that will be provided to you. Ensure that you enclose the proof of purchase (till receipt) and information about what the defect is and when it occurred.
