Check that your mains voltage corresponds to that stated on the appliance. Never leave the appliance unsupervised when in use. From time to time check the appliance for damages. Never use the appliance if cord or appliance shows any signs of damage. In that case, repairs should be made by a competent qualified electrician(*). Should the cord be damaged, it must be replaced by a competent15

qualified electrician(*) in order to avoid all danger. Only use the appliance for domestic purposes and in the way indicated in these instructions. Never immerse the iron or the base in water or any other liquid for any reason whatsoever. Never use the appliance near hot surfaces. Before cleaning or storing the appliance, always unplug the appliance from the power supply to avoid electric shocks and let it cool down. Never use the appliance outside and always place it in a dry environment. Never use accessories which are not recommended by the producer. They could constitute a danger to the user and risk to damage the appliance. Never move the appliance by pulling the cord. Make sure the cord cannot get caught in any way. Do not wind the cord around the appliance and do not bend it. The temperature of the accessible surfaces may be very high when the appliance is in use. Never touch these surfaces, always use the handle. Make sure the cord does not come into contact with the hot parts of the appliance. Before using the appliance for the first time, remove all labels and remainders from the sole plate and carefully wipe it dry.16

Always let the appliance cool down before cleaning, storing or filling it (model with spray and/or steam). To fill the tank it is absolutely necessary to unplug the cord (model with spray and/or steam). Never put your appliance in horizontal position, but preferably in vertical position. Make sure its soleplate does not touch inflammable materials (e.g. plastic, textile) during use. If you have a special heat-resistant base, make sure you put the steam dial in off position. Always unplug the iron when not in use. The iron shall be used and placed on a stable level surface. Do not use the iron if it has fallen, if it shows any visible signs of damage or if it leaks. Always place the base of the appliance on a stable ironing board, table or on the ground. When you place the iron on its support (if available with the model), make sure that the surface on which you put the support is stable. Please note: Should the symbol be indicated on a certain surface, you need to be careful when handling the product. This symbol means: CAUTION, this surface may get very hot during use. The symbol is always put on the surface with the highest temperature, however the other17

metallic or non-metallic surfaces can also become very hot during use and it is therefore advisable to always handle them with care and if possible with the help of isothermal gloves or other thermal protection. In case of doubt concerning the temperature of a certain surface it is always preferable to protect oneself. (*) Competent qualified electrician: after-sales department of the producer or importer or any person who is qualified, approved and competent to perform this kind of repairs in order to avoid all danger. In case of need you should return the appliance to this electrician (www.ggv-service.de). ! BEFORE USING THE IRON, remove any labels from the soleplate and wipe any manufacturing residue from the soleplate using a soft cloth. MOUNTING HOOK At the bottom of the iron support there is a mounting hook that can be used to fix the iron support to a table or ironing board. Carefully take out the mounting hook from underneath the support and turn the screw until the support is fixed to the table or ironing board. STEAM IRONING IN CORDED AND CORDLESS MODE Your new steam iron is uniquely able to work in both corded and cordless modes. The selector switch of the iron support allows a precise setting of the desired ironing mode (park, corded, cordless). Park mode or corded mode: The iron is fixed to the base through the heel. Set the switch to this position when you do not use the iron or when storing it. We also advise you to use the iron in the corded position if you intend to steam iron for a length of time and when you apply numerous shots of steam, meaning your steam iron works like an ordinary, traditional steam iron, with the power cord attached to the iron and plugged into the power supply. Cordless mode: The steam iron can be used without the cord. In this case, you take the iron from the stand. The advantage of this mode is that the cord cannot disturb you during ironing. The soleplate heats up again when the appliance is back on its base. (1) (2)

Ensure the steam iron is correctly placed on the iron support and put the selector switch in position . When using in cordless mode, you will need to allow a few seconds for the heat trap system to heat up/reheat. You will find that you can iron several garments before the steam iron needs to be reheated. The appliance will function 2 minutes for dry ironing, 1.5 minutes for steam ironing with constant steam and 1 minute for ironing with burst of steam. If you want to use the steam iron in corded mode, put it on the base and put the selector switch to corded mode (position ). If you want to steam iron for a considerable time or apply numerous shots of steam, it is advised to use the iron in the corded mode. When you do not use the steam iron, put it in park mode. In this mode, the steam iron is fixed to the iron support.

FILLING THE WATER TANK

4) Put the iron back on the stand.

5) When ironing, unplug the appliance before refilling. Fill the water tank by holding the

appliance in horizontal position without putting down the hot soleplate, unless you have a heat-resistant base. TEMPERATURE SETTINGS You can choose the temperature setting depending on the cloth to iron. Plug in the iron. Choose the correct ironing temperature by turning the fabric selector switch. The temperature indicator lights up. Once the desired temperature has been reached, the temperature indicator lamp will go out. DRY PRESSING Turn the variable steam dial to off position . Plug in the iron. Set the temperature dial for the desired fabric. Always check the label of the garment before choosing the temperature setting. Set the iron on its heel rest and wait until the temperature indicator light goes out.19

STEAM PRESSING Kind of textile Temperature dial Steam ironing Nylon Synthetic (e.g. acetate, acrylic, viscose, polyamide, polyester, …) MIN/OFF

Fill the water tank (variable steam dial on off position ). Put the plug of the appliance into the power socket. Choose the desired temperature. Turn the variable steam dial to the required position (between and ) according to the desired amount of steam. Set the iron on its heel and wait until the temperature indicator goes out. Steam is produced as soon as the iron is held horizontally. Caution: Set the temperature dial within the steam range (' ' or ' '). If the temperature setting is too low, water may drip from the soleplate. Check the garment label before ironing because some clothes may be damaged when exposed to steam or water. SPRAY Produces a mist for removing stubborn creases. Spray can be used at any temperature setting and during either dry or steam pressing. Press down the spray button to spray.

The burst of steam feature provides additional steam for removing stubborn creases. This button also allows you to iron delicate articles of clothing vertically. This feature is called "vertical burst of steam". To do so, hang your article of clothing on a hanger, keep the steam button pressed and pass the iron to and fro in front of the article of clothing, making sure that the soleplate does not come into contact with the article of clothing. The distance between the soleplate and the article of clothing depends on the kind of textile and the creases.20

AUTOMATIC CUTOUT The automatic cut-off device trips after the iron has been left for approximately eight minutes in the upright position or unused for approximately thirty seconds in the horizontal position. The temperature indicator will flash & some beeps are issued to indicate that the cut-off device has tripped. As soon as you move the iron, the device turns off and the iron starts working again. ANTI-CALC FEATURE There is a decalcification box inside the appliance, which can absorb unsolvable calcium ion and send out solvable sodium ion so that water can be softened, and the process of calcium depositing would be much slower.

Clean the iron regularly according to the hardness of the water and the frequency of use. Put the selector switch of the stand in cordless mode and take the iron from the stand. Fill the water tank and put the thermostat in MAX position. Put the iron back on the stand. Plug in the appliance. The pilot light will come on. Make sure the steam dial is in off- position . Never use vinegar or other liquids to descale the iron. As soon as the pilot light goes off, hold the iron over a sink and press the clean button. Steam and dust particles will come out of the soleplate. When the water tank is empty, release the clean button. To clean the plastic parts of the iron, use a humid cloth. To clean the soleplate, make sure you use a product made especially for this purpose. Never use abrasive products.

WHEN YOU HAVE FINISHED IRONING

Turn the temperature dial to "MIN/OFF" and the steam dial to off-position and unplug the iron from the electrical outlet. With the soleplate facing away from you, turn the iron upside down to empty the water. Then store the hot iron on its heel rest so that any remaining moisture will evaporate. When storing the appliance, put the iron on the stand and put the selector switch of the stand in park mode.
