How to install the pedestal under my washer or dryer?

To install the pedestal, first tilt the appliance on its side. Slide the pedestal under the appliance aligning the mounting bracket holes with those on the appliance base. Secure the front and rear brackets with the provided screws. Then, with the help of another person, set the assembly upright. Do not unplug the appliance before stacking.

What is the maximum weight that the pedestal drawer can support?

The total weight inside the closed drawer or the combined weight inside and on the open drawer must not exceed 29.5 kg (65 lb).

How to level the pedestal?

Place the pedestal in its final location. Use an adjustable wrench to adjust each leveling foot. Check level front to back and side to side. Then rock the pedestal from corner to corner to check stability. Once stable, tighten each lock nut against the pedestal base to lock the feet.

Should I unplug the appliance before installing it on the pedestal?

Yes, it is imperative to disconnect the appliance from its power source before any handling. For a dryer, also disconnect the gas and exhaust duct. For a washer, shut off the water supply and disconnect the hoses. Failure to disconnect may cause injury or death.

How to attach the mounting brackets?

Attach each front bracket with 2 screws into the outermost set of holes. For the rear brackets, insert tab A into slot 1 according to the appliance type (washer or dryer) and orient the arrow as indicated. Attach each rear bracket with 2 screws.

Can I stack a dryer on a washer already installed on a pedestal?

No, do not stack a dryer on a washer already installed on a pedestal. Each pedestal is designed for one appliance at a time. Follow the provided installation instructions.

What to do if the pedestal is not stable after installation?

Check that the four leveling feet are properly adjusted and locked. Ensure the floor is level and the pedestal rests firmly. Repeat the leveling and rocking procedure until all feet are in firm contact with the floor.

How to clean the pedestal?

Use a soft, dry cloth to dust the pedestal. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish. For stubborn stains, a slightly damp cloth followed by a dry cloth is suitable.

What is the warranty for the pedestal?

The pedestal is covered by a limited two-year warranty from the date of purchase. Electrolux will repair or replace defective parts. The warranty does not cover labor or damage caused by improper installation or misuse.

AVERTISSEMENT

Prepare appliance for mounting

NOTE

Due to higher center of gravity of appliance on pedestals, some side-to-side rocking is normal during operation. Vibration can be minimized by assuring appliance is installed properly, including being level and solid on all four (4) legs by following these directions.

If washer or dryer is new and has not been installed yet, skip 1. to step 4.

If dryer is already installed, disconnect dryer from electrical 2. and gas connections and exhaust venting. On models with Steam Option, turn off cold water supply and disconnect water supply hose to dryer.

If washer is already installed, disconnect washer from electri-3. cal connection. Turn off hot and cold water supply and disconnect hot and cold water supply hoses from water supply outlets. Disconnect drain hose from drain pipe.

Protect floor and unit with cardboard or rug and carefully lay 4. the appliance on its side and screw each leg completely into the base.

CAUTION

EXCESSIVE WEIGHT HAZARD

To avoid back or other injury, have more than one person move or lift the appliance.

IMPORTANT

DO NOT use open dispenser drawer of washer or dispenser cavity as hand-hold location when tipping washer on its side. Serious damage could occur to your washer.

IMPORTANT

If feet are not completely screwed in, mounting holes in appliance will not align to mounting holes in brackets.

Prepare pedestal before mounting

Locate pedestal 1. to within a few inches of its final location.

DO NOT remove foam!

NOTE

Allow for approximately 5 in. (12.5 cm) behind the pedestal for clearance of back of washer or dryer to the wall. Allow an additional 3/4 in. (2 cm) for water inlet on Steam Model Dryers and additional space if venting dryer upward or downward.

Level the pedestal 2. front-to-back and side-to-side by adjusting each leveling leg. Keep leg extension to a minimum.

Rock the pedestal from corner-to-corner to check for stability. 3. Repeat leveling and rocking until all four (4) feet are sturdy on the floor and pedestal is level.

Without turning the rubber foot, lock each pedestal leg in 4. place by tightening its lock nut tight against the pedestal base.

Attach front mounting brackets

Attach each front bracket to outer-1. most set of holes with 2 screws.

Each rear bracket has tabs marked "A" and "B".

Attach each bracket with 2 screws through the holes that line up on 3. pedestal.

Attach pedestal to appliance

Turn pedestal on its side to match orientation to appliance.1.

Slide pedestal up to appliance and line up holes in mounting 2. brackets with holes in appliance base.

Attach rear and front brackets to appliance base with supplied 3 screws into aligning holes - one in each front bracket and two in each rear bracket.

Using more than one person, carefully return appliance and ped-4. estal to upright position.

After retuning appliance upright, loosen each mounting screw 5. going into appliance base. Allow the appliance to settle in the brackets and retighten each mounting screw.

For two years from your original date of purchase, Electrolux will repair or replace any parts of this pedestal that prove to be defective in materials or workmanship when such appliance is installed, used, and maintained in accordance with the provided instructions.

This warranty does not cover the following:

Service calls which do not involve malfunction or defects in materials or workmanship, or for appliances not • in ordinary household use or used other than in accordance with the provided instructions.

Any Labor or In-home service costs.

Damages to the fi nish of appliance or home incurred during transportation or installation, including but not limited to fl oors, cabinets, walls, etc.

Damages caused by: services performed by unauthorized service companies; use of parts other than • genuine Electrolux parts or parts obtained from persons other than authorized service companies; or external causes such as abuse, misuse, inadequate power supply, accidents, fires, or acts of God.
