How to connect a TV antenna?
Connect the antenna cable (or cable/satellite) to the TV ANTENNA jack at the back of the television. Ensure the connection is tight. Then perform an automatic channel search via the CHANNEL menu > Auto Scan.
Why is there no picture?
Check that the TV is turned on and the input source is correct (TV, HDMI, etc.). If using a DVD, make sure the disc is inserted correctly, label side facing you. Try restarting the device by unplugging it and plugging it back in.
The remote control does not work. What should I do?
Check that there is no obstacle between the remote and the sensor (located on the front panel). Replace the batteries with new ones (AAA type). If the problem persists, move closer to the TV (maximum distance 5 m).

How to adjust the OSD menu?
Press the MENU button on the remote. Use the directional keys to navigate between categories (Picture, Sound, Channel, etc.). Press ENTER to confirm an option and EXIT to quit. The menu disappears automatically after a few seconds.
Why is there no sound?
Increase the volume using the VOL+ buttons. Check that the MUTE function is not activated (press the MUTE button again). Ensure the audio cables are properly connected if using an external source. In DVD mode, check the disc's audio settings.
How to play a DVD?

GETTING STARTED

USING THE REMOTE CONTROL

  • Point the remote control at the remote sensor located on the unit.

  • When there is a strong ambient light source, the performance of the infrared remote sensor

may be degraded, causing unreliable operation.

The recommended effective distance for remote operation is about 16 feet (5 meters).

CONNECTING A TV ANTENNA / CABLE / SATELLITE

To view television channels correctly, a signal must be received from one of the following sources:

  • An indoor or outdoor aerial antenna
    -A cable system
  • A satellite system

NOTE

For receiving over-the-air TV broadcasts, we recommend that you use an external fixed antenna. Should you require the use of a temporary antenna, please ensure that you purchase an antenna with sufficient ability to receive in weak signal areas. Only when you are in close proximity to a transmitter will a temporary antenna reproduce a signal as strongly as a fixed antenna.

When connecting a DVD player to the television, the picture resolution is solely dependent upon the resolution supported by the DVD player attached. DVD player resolutions vary from 480i to 1080i. and this television can support DVD players up to a maximum resolution of 1080i.

CONNECTING A HIGH-DEFINITION (HD) SOURCE USING HDMI CONNECTION

HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface) supports both video and audio on a single digital connection for use with DVD players, DTV, set-top boxes and other digital AV devices. HDMI was developed to provide the technologies of High Bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP) as well as Digital Visual Interface (DVI) in one specification. HDCP is used to protect digital content transmitted and received by DVI-compliant or HDMI compliant displays.

HDMI has the capability to support standard, enhanced or high-definition video plus standard to multi-channel surround-sound audio. HDMI features include uncompressed digital video, a bandwidth of up to 2.2 gigabytes per second (with HDTV signals), one connector (instead of several cables and connectors), and communication between the AV source and AV devices such as DTVs.

INSTALLING REMOVING THE BASE STAND

WARNING : The TV D display is very fragile and must be protected at all times when removing the base. Stand.

  1. Disconnect all cables or cords connected to the unit.
  2. Lay the unit down on a flat surface with the back side facing up Please make sure to place a soft cushioned material (such as a pillow or thick piece of foam) beneath the screen .
  3. To remove the base stand Iposen screws off the holes then pull downwards to release the base stand.

MOUNTING ON THE WALL

This unit is VESA-compliant, and is designed to be wall-mounted with a VESA-compliant 8'' × 8'' (200mm x 200mm) mounting kit designed for flat-panel TVs (not supplied). Mount this unit according to the instructions included in the mounting kit. Length of screw should not exceed 6 mm.

Remove the base stand before mounting the unit on the wall.

INITIAL SETUP

PUTTING THE UNIT ON A PROPER PLACE

When you turn on your television set for the first time, be sure to place it on a solid stable surface.

To avoid danger, do not expose the TV to water, or a heat source (e.g. lamp, candle, radiator).

Do not obstruct the ventilation grid at the rear and be sure to leave sufficient gaps around the unit.

TURNING THE UNIT ON FOR THE FIRST TIME

After you have initially connected your TV antenna or cable, turn the television ON.

A screen will display asking you to run a Channel Auto Scanto search and receive available local digital channels.

It is here where you will select antenna options and run Channel Auto Scan

Channels will be stored in the TV tuner.

Press the MENU on the remote control.

Using the buttons, scroll to highlight channel mode.

Press the button to highlight AIR/CABLE.

SOURCE SELECTION

and select any of them using the button or the ENTER

This feature searches channels automatically for you.

FAVORITE

This feature gives the favorite list of channels added by you.

CHANNEL LIST

This feature shows the list of stored channels.

SHOW/HIDE

This feature tells you if you have chosen for channel to be skipped.

CHANNEL NUMBER

This feature tells you what channel you are currently on.

CHANNEL LABEL

This feature changes the name of the channel.

Please Note:

The channel options are only available when you select TV as your SOURCE. When you open the OSD menu on other sources (HDMI, YPbPr/AV, PC,DVD) these options will be grayed out.

PICTURE MODE

This feature changes various color modes for the TV.

BRIGHTNESS

This feature changes the picture's detail in dark colors.

CONTRAST

This feature changes the difference between dark and bright objects.

COLOR

This feature changes the amount of color in the picture.

TINT

This feature changes the white balance of the color.

SHARPNESS

This feature changes the picture quality.

COLOR TEMPERATURE

This feature adjusts the color temperature of the TV, giving warm, normal, cool.

ADVANCED SETTINGS

a)ASPECT RATIO This feature changes the various aspects of the TV's video. (Aspects include wide, zoom, cinema, normal).

b)NOISE REDUCTION This feature reduces general pixilation by blurring them.

c)DYNAMIC CONTRAST This feature allows the TV to automatically adjust the contrast of the TV depending on the picture you are viewing.

This feature enables the internal equalizer of the speakers.

You can adjust the settings individually or use the presets (standard, music, movie, sports, user).

MTS

This feature adjusts the second audio programming in analog channels.

AUDIO LANGUAGE

This feature adjusts the digital second audio programming in digital channels.

DIGITAL AUDIO OUTPUT

This feature adjusts the digital audio output.

SURROUND SOUND

This feature adjusts the dimensional surround effect on or off (for built-in speakers only).

AVL

This feature adjusts the auto volume leveler enabling volume protection from overly loud commercials.

Please Note:

AUDIO LANGUAGE and MTS are dependent on the broadcasting station's support and are only available under the source TV.

TIME MENU

SLEEP TIMER

This timer automatically turns off the TV at the designated time.

TIME ZONE

This option adjusts the global time zone for the TV.

This option toggles the daylight saving time feature.

TIME FORMAT

This option adjusts the display format for the time.

AUTO CLOCK

This option enables the TV to sync time with the antenna.

(Put it on AUTO if you have an antenna attached to the TV.If you have CABLE or SATELLITE or anything else please use make sure AUTO CLOCK is turned off)

CLOCK

This option adjusts the time and date of the TV. You need to disable AUTO CLOCK in order to use this function.

Please Note:

The TIME function will only keep accurate time if the TV is plugged into a power source.

If the TV is unplugged or the power strip is turned off, the TV's time will not be accurate.

This option changes the language of the TV's OSD menu.

TRANSPARENT

This option changes the transparency of the menu allowing background TV images to show through.

OSD TIMEOUT

This option changes the time which the TV's OSD menu automatically goes off.

CLOSED CAPTION

This option displays words on the TV.

INPUT LABEL

This option changes the source names to your personal preference.

OTHER SETTINGS

This option adjusts miscellaneous options of the TV.

AUDIO ONLY-This option turns off the screen while the audio is still playing.

RESTORE DEFAULT

This option restores all the changes in the OSD menu back to the default factory settings.

SETUP WIZARD

This option enables the TV to show you the setup wizard of the TV again.

Please Note:

Closed captioning is only available under AV and TV ports.

Closed captioning depends on your TV program's support. Sometimes due to the TV channel or the signal, closed captioning will not be available.

In United States, closed captioning under analog signals is CC1.

In United States, closed captioning under digital signal is Service1.

LOCK MENU

Press MENU button to display the main menu.

Press "0000" for the lock password.

CHANGE PASSWORD

This option allows you to change the LOCK menu password.

SYSTEM LOCK

This option enables parental locking and filtering for the TV.

US RATING

This option filters US TV programming and movies.

CANADA RATING

This option filters CANADA TV ratings.

RRT SETTING

This feature is a downloadable rating filter based on TV broadcasts. With the transition of TV broadcasts to digital, future changes, and enhancements in how TV shows are rated for content are possible.

RESET RRT

This option resets the RRT5 settings.

Downloadable rating and clear downloadable data might be grayed out depending on the Tvs tations support.

RRT5 options are based on TV broadcasts, if it is grayed out, then it is not available in your region.

Region Management Information: This unit is designed and manufactured to respond to the Region Management Information that is encoded on DVDs. If the region number printed on the DVD does not correspond to the region number of this unit, this unit cannot play that disc.

When the "INVALID KEY" symbol appears on the screen, it indicates that the function or operation attempted is not available at that time. This occurs because the DVD manufacturer determines the specific functions. Certain functions may not be available on some discs. Be sure to read the documentation provided with the DVD.

NOTE

When playing back a CD-G (Graphics) or CD EXTRA disc, the audio portion will be played, but the graphic images may not be shown.

TITLES, CHAPTERS AND TRACKS

  • DVDs are divided into "TITLES" and "CHAPTERS". If the disc has more than one movie on it, each movie would be a separate "TITLE".
  • "CHAPTERS" are sections of titles.

Audio CDs are divided into "TRACKS". A "TRACK" is usually one song on an Audio CD.

NOTE

Numbers identify each title, chapter and track on a disc. Most discs have these numbers record on them, but some do not.

NOTES ON UNAUTHORIZED DISCS

You may not be able to playback some DVDs on this equipment if they were purchased from outside your geographic area or made for business purposes.

CD/DVD OPERATION

This owner's manual explains the basic instructions of this unit. Some DVDs are produced with limited operation during playback. For example, many DVDs do not allow users to skip government warnings, or in some cases previews or other features. This is not a defect in the unit. Refer to the instruction notes of discs.

"INVALID KEY "may appear on the screen during operation." INVALID KEY "means that the desired operation is not permitted by the unit or disc.

BASIC OPERATIONS

TURN ON AND OFF THE DVD FUNCTION

Turn on the LCD TV and then press the SOURCE button repeatedly to select DVD mode.

INSERT DISC TO DVD

Insert the disc to the disc slot (mirror side of the disc has to face yourself), the player will load the disc automatically. There will have an on screen indication "CLOSE" then "READ". After loading the disc content, it will switch to play mode automatically. If the disc is already placed inside, the disc will be read automatically.

NOTE: For some discs, after loading the content of the disc, need to press the or select from the disc menu to start.

Please make sure when inserting the Disc, the label side of the disc should be facing yourself when inserting the Disc incorrectly, you may damage the DVD mechanism.

PLAYING A PICTURE FILE DISC

This unit can play JPG files recorded on CD-R and CD-RW discs.

  1. Hold the disc by its edge and gently push it into the door, with the mirror side facing yourself.
  2. The unit will load the disc and automatically display the contents of the disc on the screen, while also beginning to play the picture file. These files will then be played back one by one.
  3. Press the button to go to the folder list.
  4. Press the or button to highlight a file to play. Press the button to start playback.

PAUSING/PLAYING PLAYBACK

Press the button to switch between pausing and playing.

STOPPING PLAYBACK

Press the button at the location where you want to interrupt playback. To resume playback at the position where the disc was stopped, press the button II.

If you press the button twice, the unit's memory will be cleared and pressing the button will reset the disc to the beginning.

SKIP (PREVIOUS/NEXT)

Press the PREV button to go back to previous chapters/tracks.

Press the NEXT button to advance chapters/tracks.

For an Audio CD, use the number buttons (remote control only) to jump directly to that track number.

TITLE (for DVD disc only)

Press the TITLE button, there will have an on screen indication "TITLE".

Press the direction or numeric buttons to select your favorite title.

VOLUME

  • Press the VOL - / VOL + buttons to adjust the output volume.

NOTE: Playback DVD discs in original code, is not adjustable.

MUTE

  • Press the MUTE button to mute the audio output. There will have an on screen symbol indicate "MUTE".
  • Press again to cancel, or Press the VOL + button to cancel and adjust the volume.
  • In case there is no audiooutput, try to press the MUTE button to cancel mute.

PROGRAM

  • Press the PRO button to display the program menu as shown:

  • Useing numeric keys to set the TT and CH, then move to the START button, press ENTER button to start.
  • While playing the program, you may press the PRO button to display the program menu for edit.

To stop the program by moving to STOP button,then press ENTER button to end the program.

CD/DVD OPERATION

  1. Press the or button when a disc is playing.

Each time the or button is pressed, the speed of fast scan changes in the following sequence:

FORWARD X 2-->FORWARD X 4-->FORWARD X 8-->FORWARD X 16-->FORWARD X 32-->PLAY

BACKWARD X 2 ---> BACKWARD X 4 ---> BACKWARD X 8 ---> BACKWARD X 16 ---> BACKWARD X 32 --->PLAY

  1. Press the button to play when you reach the desired point to resume playback at normal speed.

Subtitle 02/32:

SUBTITLE SELECTION (DVD)

  1. While a DVD is playing, press the SUBTITLE button to display the current the language setting, as shown in the example.
  2. Press the SUBTITLE button repeatedly to select the desired subtitle language.

NOTE

If only one language is recorded, the language does not change.
- About two seconds later, playback continues with the new subtitle you selected.
- If no button is pressed within a few seconds, playback continues without changing the current subtitle.
The number of languages recorded differs depending on the disc.
This function can only be used for discs on which subtitles have been recorded in multiple languages.

Audio 3/3:AC3 2CH

AUDIO SELECTION (DVD)

On some discs, the sound is recorded in two or more formats. Follow the directions below to select the preferred language and sound system.

  1. While a disc is playing, press the AUDIO button to show the current audio format number.
  2. Press the AUDIO button repeatedly to select the desired audio format. Note

If only one audio format is recorded, the number does not change.
- About two seconds later, playback continues in the new audio format.

ANGLE SELECTION (DVD)

Some DVDs contain scenes which have been shot from a number of different angles. For these discs, the same scene can be viewed from each of these different angles.

  1. While you are playing a DVD with different angles recorded, press the ANGLE button to view the number of the current angle available.
  2. Press the ANGLE button repeatedly to change the scene to the next angle in those recorded.
  3. About two seconds later, playback continues from the new angle you selected.
    -If no button is pressed within 10 seconds, playback continues without changing the current angle.

Using INFO button, you can check the current settings of the following items: ANGLE, AUDIO and SUBTITLE. While the disc is playing, press the INFO button repeatedly to display information on operation status.

LOCATING A SPECIFIC TITLE (DVD)

If a DVD contains title numbers, you can locate a specific title by directly selecting a title number.

  1. Press the GOTO button.
  2. Press the or button to highlight a specific field and press the corresponding number button(s) for the title you want.
  3. Press the ENTER button to confirm. The Unit will start playback about 3 seconds later.

LOCATING A SPECIFIC CHAPTER /TRACK

If you know the chapter / track number you want to play, you can locate a specific chapter / track by directly selecting a chapter / track number.

  1. Press the GOTO button to search for your desired chapter / track.
  2. You can directly press 0-9 number button to highlight a chapter/track. If you want the chapters / tracks greater than 10, you can press the 10+ button and press the corresponding number button(s) for the chapter/track you want.
  3. Press the ENTER button to confirm. Playback starts from the selected chapter / track.

LOCATING A SPECIFIC TIME

You can move to a specific location by entering its corresponding time (hours, minutes, seconds)

  1. Press the GOTO button.
  2. Press the or button to highlight time.
  3. Press the corresponding number buttons for the setting point you want.
  4. Press the ENTER button to confirm. The Unit will start playback about 3 seconds later. NOTE

Some discs may not respond to this process.
Some scenes may not be located as precisely as specified.
This method for accessing specific locations is available only within the current title of the DVD.

DVD REPEATING

You can play a specific title or chapter repeatedly. (Title repeat, chapter repeat, A-B repeat)

REPEATING A CHAPTER

You can play the same chapter repeatedly.

  1. While the disc is playing, press the REPEAT button until the chapter indicator displays

on the screen.

The current chapter is played repeatedly.

REPEATING A TITLE

You can play the same title repeatedly.

  1. While the disc is playing, press the REPEAT button until the l title indicator displays on the screen.

The current title is played repeatedly.

REPEATING ALL

  1. While the disc is playing, press the REPEAT button until the ALL indicator displays on the screen.

CD REPEATING

You can play a single track and whole disc repeatedly.

REPEATING A SINGLE TRACK

You can play the same track repeatedly.

  1. While the disc is playing, press the REPEAT button until the Track indicator displays on the screen.

The current track is played repeatedly.

REPEATING A WHOLE DISC

  1. While the disc is playing, press the REPEAT button until the All indicator displays on the screen.

The whole disc is played repeatedly.

REPEATING A SPECIFIC SECTION (DVD) (CD)

You can play a specific section repeatedly.

  1. While the disc is playing, press the A-B button at the beginning of the section (A) is displayed)

you want to play repeatedly.

  1. Press the A-B button again at the end of the section (AB is displayed).

  2. The Unit will immediately begin replaying your selection.

REPEATING A SINGLE TRACK

  1. While the disc is playing, press the A-B button until the Track indicator displays on the screen.

NOTE

  • A-B repeat can only be used within the same title. If the start and end of the section to be repeated are in different titles, A-B repeat is cancelled.
    The A-B repeat function does not operate in scenes where different camera angles are recorded.

CD/DVD OPERATION

MP3/JPEG PLAYBACK

After loading the MP3 / JPEG disc, it will start to scan for the stored MP3 / JPEG folders.

Then will firstly display the MP3 contents automatically and start to play the first file (highlighted file).

NOTE:

When playback MP3 files, there is no picture display, only audio output.

Playing the JPEG discs, press the PRO button to select slide effects. There are 16 slide modes,

press the PRO button to toggle among different modes in sequence.

The picture is not clear·Clean the disc. ·The disc is scratched
Severe hum or noiseis heard.·Theplugs and jacks are dirty. Wipe them with a cloth slightly moistened with alcohol. ·Clean the disc
The disc does not play.·There is no disc inside ("No Disc" appears on the screen). ·Insert the disc correctly with the label side facing yourself. ·Clean the disc. ·A non-NTSC disc has been inserted. The unit and disc region number are incompatible. ·Condensation may have formed inside the unit due to a sudden change in temperature. Wait about an hour for it to clean and try again.

Coloredpatches of picture.·Make sure there are no unshielded electrical devices nearby that are causing interference. ·Turn the TV off for 30 minutes, then try it again.
