Frequently Asked Questions - AHS 1845 V METABO

Which battery to use with the Metabo AHS 1845 V?
This hedge trimmer works with Metabo CAS (Cordless Alliance System) batteries, voltage 18 V and capacity between 1.3 Ah and 10 Ah.
How to charge the battery?
Use a compatible Metabo CAS charger (e.g. ASC 30-36, ASC 55, ASC 145). Plug in the charger, insert the battery until it stops, the control light flashes. When charging is complete, the light stays on.
What is the battery life?
Battery life depends on battery capacity and branch thickness. With an 18 V/4 Ah battery, expect about 30 to 45 minutes of continuous use.
How to maintain the hedge trimmer blades?
After each use, clean the blades with a dry cloth and apply a special lubricant for blades. For sharpening, have it done by a professional or use a suitable file.
Can the hedge trimmer cut thick branches?
The tooth spacing is 30 mm, allowing cutting of branches up to about 25 mm in diameter. For thicker branches, use pruners or a saw.
How to change the blade?
Disconnect the battery. Remove the blade fixing screws (usually 4 screws). Replace the worn blade with a new one (Metabo part number). Tighten the screws to the torque indicated in the manual.
What safety precautions should be observed?
Wear gloves and safety glasses. Do not work in rain. Use both hands on the handles. Ensure the battery is properly engaged. Turn off the device before any adjustment.
Can the device be used with a battery from another brand?
No, only use Metabo or CAS (Cordless Alliance System) batteries. Using incompatible batteries may damage the device and pose a safety risk.
What to do if the hedge trimmer does not start?
Check that the battery is charged and properly inserted. Check the condition of the blades (jamming). If the battery light flashes, see the troubleshooting section in the manual. If the problem persists, contact Metabo after-sales service.
Where to find spare parts?
Spare parts (blades, springs, screws) are available from authorised Metabo dealers or on the website www.metabo.com. Always use genuine parts.
