about the power supply
- Before connecting the device to your power supply, please ensure that the supply voltage stated on the rating plate is compatible with your mains supply.
- Only insert the mains plug into a socket when the appliance is switched off.
- Keep the cable and the appliance away from heat, hot surfaces, moisture and liquids. Do not touch the mains plug when you are standing in water and always take hold of the plug with dry hands.
- Appliance components carrying voltage may not come into contact with liquid.
- Do not take hold of a device if it falls into water. Pull out the power plug from the socket immediately.
- Connect the unit so that the power plug is freely accessible.
- Always switch off the appliance after use with the ON-/OFF-switch ① and unplug the power plug.
- To disconnect the unit from the power supply, always pull the plug out of the socket. Do not pull on the cable!
- Do not carry, pull or twist the device on the cable.
- You must not continue to use the unit if the lead or the plug are damaged.

- The maximum operating time for one session is 15 minutes. Prolonged use reduces the service life of the appliance.
- Very long periods of use can lead to overheating. So after continuously operating for 15 minutes, user should stop it for at least 15 minutes before using it again.
- Never put the unit down next to an electric stove or other sources of heat.
- Never leave the unit unattended if it is connected to the power supply.
- Do not allow the appliance to come into contact with pointed or sharp objects.
- Do not cover up the appliance when it is switched on. Never use it under blankets or cushions. There is a risk of fire, electric shock or injury.

- The unit is maintenance free. If a fault does occur, just check whether the mains power plug is properly connected.
- You may only clean the device yourself. If the device malfunctions please do not repair it yourself as this leads to the automatic expiry of all guarantee rights.

- Do not immerse the device in water or other fluids.
- If, nonetheless, liquid should penetrate the device, unplug the mains cable immediately.

With the foot massager FM 885 you have acquired a quality product from MEDISANA. This unit is intended for foot massage with or without heat function. To ensure that your foot massager FM 885 provides successful results for a long time, we recommend that you read carefully through the following notes for the use and care.
2.1 Items supplied and packaging
Please check first of all that the device is complete and is not damaged in any way. In case of doubt, do not use it and contact your dealer or your service centre.

The packaging can be reused or recycled. Please dispose properly of any packaging material no longer required. If you notice any transport damage during unpacking, please contact your dealer without delay.
WARNING
Please ensure that the polythene packing is kept away from the reach of children! Risk of suffocation!
2.2 What is Shiatsu massage?
Shiatsu is a form of pressure massage and one of the most important massaging techniques along with manual lymphatic drainage and reflexology. This form of physical therapy was developed in Japan but stems from traditional Chinese massage. Gentle stroking and beneficial pressure application techniques are used to awaken life forces and encourage them to flow through the body. The object of the massage is to ease tension and optimise the blood flow for a better well-being.
2.3 What is the foot massager FM 885 used for?
Our feet are under great strain each and every day, making them especially vulnerable to tenseness, muscle pains and hardened muscles. The MEDISANA foot massager FM 885 lets you give your feet a treat, helping them to relax after a long day.
Each massage can be combined with heat treatment. This promotes relaxation, improves the blood circulation and has a soothing effect on the muscles.
CAUTION
Make sure that the maximum operating time of 15 minutes is not exceeded.
3.1 Foot massage
Place the MEDISANA foot massager FM 885 on the floor in front of a comfortable chair and plug the mains plug into the mains outlet.
- Power on the unit by switching on the ON/OFF button 1 ⏻ . Sit down in a comfortable position. The indicator light in the ON/OFF button 1 ⏻ lights up in red. Put your feet under the cover.
- By switching the device on, the Shiatsu massage and the air pressure massage are activated automatically. Air pressure massage is set to medium intensity by default. The indicator light in the button 4(MED) lights up in white.
- The heat may be switched on or off with the button 6. When the heat function is deactivated, the respective red indicator light goes out.
- The air pressuere massage may be switch between low (LOW), medium (MED) and high (HIGH) intensity with the button ③ ④ ⑤ The indicator light of the activated button lights up in white. With butt ② (AIR OFF) air pressure massage can be deactivated separately.
- Press the the ON/OFF button ^① to switch off the device completely or wait until the device switches off automatically. (After 15 minutes of constant use the device will switch off automatically.) Pull your feet out of the cover before you get up. The appliance is not designed to support your full body weight! Unplug the appliance from the wall outlet after use.
3.2 Duration of massage treatment
In general, you can allow approximately 10 to 15 minutes operation for each massage session, one to two times a day. Make sure the appliance is cooled down completely before using it again!

Cleaning and maintenance
- Before cleaning the appliance, make sure that the appliance is switched off and the power supply is disconnected. Allow the unit to cool down.

Clean the massager with a slightly damp sponge only. Never use brushes, aggressive cleaning agents, petrol, thinners or alcohol. Rub the unit dry with a clean dry cloth.

Never immerse the appliance in water to clean it and ensure water cannot get into the appliance.
- Wait until the device is completely dry before using it again.
- Undo any kinks in the cable.
• Take care to roll up the mains lead to avoid damaging it. - You should ideally store the device in its original packaging and keep it in a clean, dry place.

Disposal
This product should not be disposed of together with domestic waste.
Please hand in all electrical or electronic devices at a municipal or commercial collection point so that they can be disposed of in an environmentally acceptable manner. Consult your municipal authority for information about disposal.

Warranty and repair terms
Please contact your dealer or the service centre in case of a claim under the warranty. If you have to return the unit, please enclose a copy of your receipt and state what the defect is.
The following warranty terms apply:
- The warranty period for MEDISANA products is 3 years from date of purchase. In case of a warranty claim, the date of purchase has to be proven by means of the sales receipt or invoice.
- Defects in material or workmanship will be removed free of charge within the warranty period.
- Repairs under warranty do not extend the warranty period either for the unit or for the replacement parts.

The following is excluded under the warranty:
a. All damage which has arisen due to improper treatment, e.g. non-observance of the user instructions.
b. All damage which is due to repairs or tampering by the customer or unauthorised third parties.
c. Damage which has arisen during transport from the manufacturer to the consumer or during transport to the service centre.
d. Accessories which are subject to normal wear and tear. -
Liability for direct or indirect consequential losses caused by the unit are excluded even if the damage to the unit is accepted as a warranty claim.
