Before connecting the device to your power supply, please ensure that the supply voltage stated on the rating plate is compatible with your mains supply. Only insert the mains plug into a socket when the appliance is switched off. Keep the cable and the appliance away from heat, hot surfaces, moisture and liquids. Do not touch the mains plug when you are standing in water and always take hold of the plug with dry hands. Appliance components carrying voltage may not come into contact with liquid. Do not take hold of a device if it falls into water. Pull out the power plug from the socket immediately. Connect the unit so that the power plug is freely accessible. Always switch off the appliance after use with the ON-/OFF- switch and unplug the power plug. To disconnect the unit from the power supply, always pull the plug out of the socket. Do not pull on the cable! Do not carry, pull or twist the device on the cable. You must not continue to use the unit if the lead or the plug are damaged. What isShiatsumassage?Shiatsu is a form of pressure massage and one of the most important massaging techniques along with manual lymphatic drainage and reflexology.This form of physical therapy was developed in Japan but stems from traditional Chinese massage. Gentle stroking and beneficial pressure application techniques are used to awaken life forces and encourage them to flow through the body. The object of the massage is to ease tension and optimise the blood flow for a better well-being. RWhat is thefoot massagerFM 885 used for? Our feet are under great strain each and every day, making them especially vulnerable to tenseness, muscle pains and hardened muscles. The MEDISANA foot massager FM 885 lets you give your feet a treat, helping them to relax after a long day.Each massage can be combined with heat treatment. This promotes relaxation, improves the blood circulation and has a soothing effect on the muscles.

CAUTION Make sure that the maximum operating time of 15 minutes is not exceeded.16

3 Operating Place the MEDISANA foot massager FM 885 on the floor in front of a comfortable chair and plug the mains plug into the mains outlet.

Power on the unit by switching on the ON/OFF button . Sit down in a comfortable position. The indicator light in the ON/OFFbutton lights up in red. Put your feet under the cover. By switching the device on, the Shiatsu massage and the air pressure massage are activated automatically. Air pressure massage is set to medium intensity by default. The indicator light in the button (MED) lights up in white. The heat may be switched on or off with the button . When the heat function is deactivated, the respective red indicator light goes out. The air pressuere massage may be switch between low (LOW), medium (MED) and high (HIGH) intensity with the buttons . The indicator light of the activated button lights up in white. With button (AIR OFF) air pressure massage can be deacitvated separately. Press the the ON/OFF button to switch off the device completely or wait until the device switches off automatically. (After 15 minutes of constant use the device will switch off automatically.) Pull your feet out of the cover before you get up. The appliance is not designed to support your full body weight! Unplug the appliance from the wall outlet after use.

Duration of massage treatment In general, you can allow approximately 10 to 15 minutes operation for each massage session, one to two times a day. Make sure the appliance is cooled down completely before using it again!

4 Miscellaneous Ÿ Before cleaning the appliance, make sure that the appliance is switched off and the power supply is disconnected. Allow the unit to cool down. Ÿ Clean the massager with a slightly damp sponge only. Never use brushes, aggressive cleaning agents, petrol, thinners or alcohol. Rub the unit dry with a clean dry cloth. Ÿ Never immerse the appliance in water to clean it and ensure water cannot get into the appliance. Ÿ Wait until the device is completely dry before using it again.Ÿ Undo any kinks in the cable.Ÿ Take care to roll up the mains lead to avoid damaging it.Ÿ You should ideally store the device in its original packaging and keep it in a clean, dry place.

Cleaning and maintenance This product should not be disposed of together with domestic waste. Please hand in all electrical or electronic devices at a municipal or commercial collection point so that they can be disposed of in an environmentally acceptable manner. 5 Warranty Warranty and repair terms Please contact your dealer or the service centre in case of a claim under the warranty. If you have to return the unit, please enclose a copy of your receipt and state what the defect is. The following warranty terms apply:

1. The warranty period for MEDISANA products is 3 years from

date of purchase. In case of a warranty claim, the date of purchase has to be proven by means of the sales receipt or invoice.

2. Defects in material or workmanship will be removed free of

charge within the warranty period.

3. Repairs under warranty do not extend the warranty period either

for the unit or for the replacement parts.

4. The following is excluded under the warranty:

a. All damage which has arisen due to improper treatment, e.g. non-observance of the user instructions. b. All damage which is due to repairs or tampering by the customer or unauthorised third parties. c. Damage which has arisen during transport from the manufacturer to the consumer or during transport to the service centre. d. Accessories which are subject to normal wear and tear.
