1. Thread the strap through the slots on the back of the remote.

You can pair the Smart Remote with any wireless-enabled GoPro. The remote can control up to 50 cameras at a time from up to 600ft (180m) away in optimal conditions. Your camera recognizes only one remote at a time. The Smart Remote is waterproof to 33ft (10m).

The distance from which you can control your camera with the remote varies and depends on factors such as camera model, terrain, weather, obstructions, and electromagnetic interference.

2. On your camera, complete these steps:

a. Press the Mode button repeatedly until you get to Settings then press the Shutter button to select it.
b. Press the Shutter button repeatedly until you get to Connections (H)

c. Press the Mode button to highlight Connect, then press the Shutter button to select it.
d. Press the Mode button repeatedly until you got to SmrIRC, then press the Shutter button to select it. The camera automatically begins pairing.

3. To stop capturing video or time lapse content, press the Shutter/Select button again.

If your camera goes out of range of the remote while you are recording, recording continues until you stop it.

PRO TIP: You can add HiLight Tags to quickly find highlights during playback and editing. While recording, press the Settings/Tag button on the remote to add a HiLight Tag."

HiLight Tags are not available on all GoPro camera models.
