Frequently Asked Questions - SBCSC463 PHILIPS

How to avoid interference with my Philips SBC SC463 baby monitor?
If you experience interference or poor reception, set both units (parent and baby) to another channel. Make sure they are on the same channel. Also keep cell phones or cordless phones away from the units.
What to do if the system check indicator flashes red?
The indicator flashes red if the units are out of range for more than 30 seconds or in case of interference. Move the parent unit closer to the baby unit to restore communication. If the alarm is activated, an audible signal will sound.
How to activate the system check alarm?
Open the battery compartment cover of the parent unit. Set the internal switch to the ON position. Close the cover. The alarm will sound as soon as the two units lose communication.
Can I use rechargeable batteries in the baby monitor?
The manual recommends non-rechargeable Philips Alkaline batteries type LR6 (AA). Do not use rechargeable batteries, as their voltage is different (1.2 V instead of 1.5 V) and they may not work properly.
What is the maximum range of this baby monitor?
The range can reach 250 meters outdoors under good conditions (no obstacles). Walls, ceilings, large objects and windows reduce the range.
What to do if the parent unit produces no sound?
Check that the parent unit is turned on (the power indicator should be green). Increase the volume using the VOLUME ON/OFF control. Also ensure that communication with the baby unit is established (SYSTEM CHECK indicator steady green).
How to clean the baby monitor?
Use a damp cloth to clean the units. Never immerse them in water and do not cover the baby unit (towel, blanket, etc.).
Why do I hear a high-pitched squeal?
A high-pitched sound occurs when the parent and baby units are too close. Move the parent unit away from the baby unit until the noise stops.
How to install batteries in the baby unit?
Use a coin to open the battery compartment cover. Insert four 1.5 V LR6 (AA) batteries respecting the + and - polarities. Close and lock the cover.
What to do if the power indicator flashes red?
The flashing red indicator means the batteries are low or flat. Replace the batteries or plug in the mains adapter to continue using the device.
