Frequently Asked Questions - ColorEdge CG2420 EIZO

How to use the SelfCalibration function?
Make sure the monitor has been on for at least 30 minutes. In the Setting menu, select Color then CAL mode (CAL1/CAL2/CAL3). Enable SelfCalibration and set a target (brightness, white point, gamma). Configure a schedule in Settings or run manually via Execute.
What to do if the screen stays black and the indicator is orange?
The monitor is in power-saving mode. Press a key on the keyboard or move the mouse. Check that the signal cable is properly connected and that the computer is on. If the problem persists, change the input source using the INPUT button.
How to clean the screen and casing?
Use a soft dry cloth or the supplied ScreenCleaner. Never use alcohol, thinner, benzene, or abrasive cleaners. For stubborn stains, lightly dampen the cloth with water. Avoid scratching the surface.
Why do bright or dark spots appear?
The LCD panel is manufactured using high-precision technology. It is normal for a few pixels to be defective (on or off). The effective pixel rate is 99.9994% or higher. This does not affect monitor performance.
How to connect multiple computers to the monitor?
The monitor has three inputs: DVI-D, HDMI, and DisplayPort. Connect each computer with the appropriate cable. Use the INPUT button on the front to switch between sources. Enable Auto Input Detection in the Preferences menu for automatic switching.
The white LED flashes twice, what does it mean?
This indicates that a recalibration is required if the SelfCalibration schedule is set. The monitor reminds you to run the scheduled calibration. If you do not wish to do so, disable the schedule or run SelfCalibration.
How to adjust brightness and color temperature?
Access the Setting menu by pressing a front button. Go to Color. Select a mode (Custom, Adobe RGB, etc.). You can adjust Brightness (40–400 cd/m²), Temperature (4000–10000 K), and other parameters like Gamma.
Can I use a VESA arm or mount?
Yes, the monitor is VESA compatible (100 × 100 mm). Remove the original stand by pressing the lock button. Use the supplied screws to attach an optional arm. Ensure the mount can support at least 5.0 kg and respects mounting dimensions.
How to charge a smartphone via the USB port?
Connect your smartphone to the downstream USB port marked CHARGE. In the Preferences menu, set USB CHARGE Port to Charge only for fast charging (up to 2.1 A). Note that data is not transferred in this mode.
What to do if SelfCalibration fails with an error code?
Refer to the error code table in the manual (examples: 0011 = target brightness too low, 0013 = target value problem, 0030 = defective sensor). Increase the target brightness, check settings, or contact EIZO support. Ensure the sensor is not exposed to direct light.
